This place killed my grandparents' Doberman puppy and are accepting zero responsibility. The puppy is dead due to their negligence. My grandparents took their three-month-old Doberman puppy, Tyson, to Rose City Veterinary Hospital on Tuesday, January 9 for three routine procedures: dew claw removal, ear cropping, and tail docking. They said the procedure would be at 9:30am and to drop him off at 9am to prepare him for surgery. They said they would call my grandparents when it was time to pick him between 4pm and 5pm.My grandparents went to check on him at the clinic at 3:50pm, and the staff told them they had not started on his surgery that was scheduled for 9:30am. My grandma told them that they would wait in the lobby, even though the staff said it would be at least two hours. At 4:38pm, the doctor who was supposed to perform the procedure, Dr. Bliefer, came up to them to say that their puppy passed away. She stated she "did not know what happened."This puppy was 10 weeks old and in perfect health, but was not given any water or food from before 9am to when they started the surgery at 4pm. He was put in a cramped cage all day where he could not turn around. Then he was given anesthesia and immediately died on the operating table. He was supposed to be in good hands. My grandma was so upset, her pace maker went off and she was almost taken to the ER. This has caused terrible emotional stress for my family, and this business refuses to be held accountable for the damage they caused. We will be filing complaints with the Veterinary Medical Board of California, as well as pursuing legal action for the lack of responsible care given and zero responsibility taken. This establishment blamed having other "life-saving surgeries" as the reason to move my grandparents' puppy's surgery, when in reality, it was the inattentiveness of the staff to the puppy's needs for 6 hours that led to the puppy's extremely weakened state before the anesthesia was finally given. Please don't ever seek services here. Not only do they make horrible, reckless mistakes, but they gaslight you into thinking that a healthy, happy puppy can all of a sudden die for no reason.

The staff here were dangerously neglectful and a sweet innocent puppy paid the price. Don't come here. They will not properly care for your pets.

DO NOT take your pet here! My friend’s grandparents took their new 10-month-old dog here for a routine surgery and was killed due to the negligence of a vet. They were treated horribly and the vet is not taking responsibility for their actions. Please, if you care about your pet, do not take them here!

We have been clients of the amazing Dr. Bliefer for over 25 years. We followed her here when she made it her exclusive location. We used to drive 2 to 2 1/2 hours to get care, now it's 8 hrs but totally worth it. The staff is good, the office has other vets as well and gets VERY BUSY! They do their best to treat every pet and client with care. I agree with another reviews that phone messages and email are not the best way to communicate, you need to talk to a person. Dr. Bleifer is a premier reproductive vet as well as a great diagnostican and we will always value her continuing care.

As the clinic that has our dogs records on hand, we have tried to have our dog seen here multiple times over the last week, and have been turned away each time. Initially, we walked in on Friday, as our dog had some discharge coming from her eye, and we were told to leave and come back another day. We then tried to bring her in the following day, and were told that they only do surgeries on the weekends, and were once again turned away. We then tried again on Tuesday, as the eye was getting worse, and were once again told to leave and come back another day. Now today, Wednesday, our dog is worsening, and they once again rejected us stating that it is "doctors orders" that they will not be seeing any more walk ins. Three to four individual visits made to this same clinic over the course of 5 days, all resulting in rejection. On top of this, the front desk worker, Francesca, was incredibly rude during this process, talking over anything I was saying, conversing with other staff members and laughing at the situation that we are in with our dog, and then hanging up the phone on me mid-sentence. Incredibly disrespectful, low quality service, and even lower quality employees. Avoid at all cost, they will waste your time, money, and energy.

Don't do it! BUT if you do bring your dogs here to crop their ears. I brought my doberman and let me tell you they look beautiful. At first I was scared due to some of the reviews but I never had an issue with anyone. The Dr. spoke with me before and after surgery which was reassuring. Everyone is also really nice especially Gloria who does the tapping afterwards. Only negative thing is the phones tend to be busy since they are so busy. I found it best to call after lunch. Here's a picture of my baby, enjoy.P.s. try not to do ear cropping during the rainy season. Her tape got wet multiple times which made the process so much longer and frustrating.

I didn’t quite believe the reviews about poor service - now I do! Over month after our dog had surgery to remove a tumor, and they still haven’t bothered to email over her test results (as promised). Not cheap tests either! Emailed twice and still no response. Only giving the place three stars because Dr Bleifer is awesome.

I take Hunter here for his physical therapy. Danielle is the best she communicates with us before and after his therapy. She is now Gone and we are trying out the new therapist. So far so good. But it is difficult to get an appointment bc she is also needed in other areas of the hospital. Her hours are limited for therapy. But I believe they are working on this. Hunter seems to like her too.

I had been taking my dogs here for years, but over the past 12 months lots of staffing changes, lost front desk and vet staff, service has declined enormously. Front desk is often rude, especially Kimberly, mixed up appointments, long, long (over 2 hours at times) wait, prices have gone way up and they charge for EVERYTHING. Went to pick up my dog from hygiene appointment and staff member yelled and slammed a door on me. I finally got my dog and left shaking and crying. It's very sad to see such a slide in customer service, specifically at the front desk

I have visited many many vets over the years and I have always left with the feeling that I have been ripped off, taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge re treatment and my ultimate love of my dogs. Do you know what I mean? At Rose City, I know that tests and procedures are necessary, each test is done - not in an attempt to over-charge but to specifically find the cause of the problem. Treatment is focused and to the point. No unnecessary procedures that just add to the bill. In addition, Dr. Bleifer specifically is willing to think outside the box. I have brought many dogs to Rose City and I can tell you that they are always willing to go over and above both in physical and emotional care of my dogs - and me.

I've been a client of Dr. Bleifer's for 30 years. She is so talented in general practice, surgery and fertility. Whether it's a checkup, ear cropping, fertility or something more serious, she is on the cutting edge of everything. And her surgeries are like works of art. You literally can not get better veterinary care in Los Angeles. In fact, I can't tell you how many times I've met a dog owners out and about and they tell me they go to Dr. Bleifer. The front desk can be busy but they do get you in and out and they are very competent. Have patience... you are in great hands here.

I am very upset about this veterinary’s assistance my 1 year old Doberman is very sick I called and they told me to bring him in as soon as possible. When I got there I signed in and waited 2 hours no response then another person came an hour later with their doberman that did not have an appointment as well, the doctors called in the other doberman that came an hour later after us we talked to the lady in front and she told us if we could wait until 5 which would make us wait another 3 hours. I hope you guys take this as a consideration so people don’t go there to just waste there time especially people who live far away.

If I could rate this POS place less than a 1 would. My dog is due in literally less than 48 hours so I went in today for the PG test. Yesterday was around 4, today is around 5 but the vet is telling me that tomorrow she'll do the c-section (they're closed on Sunday but can do it for an "emergency fee") yeah, right! Sounds like money hungry to me! Also, when the staff member called to provide the PG result and I asked to speak to the vet for follow up questions, she tried to push me off to front desk staff, who had to check with the vet, who wasn't available to come to the phone and you get where I'm going... they hung up in my face after I pressed to speak with the vet. As I'm typing this, the "Practice Manager" just called me and said they will no longer be able to provide services to my dogs. Guess they don't want anyone speaking to the vets who may or may not actually be in the building. My dog is due and now I'm scrambling to find another vet!!! This place needs to be shut down!!! READ THE OTHER REVIEWS!!!! They only want your money and I highly even doubt the vets are there when they say they are. This place is beyond SUS -
