I went to Newport Dental to get my teeth cleaned on my medicare advantage insurance. They told me I needed two gold crowns replaced and a deep cleaning because the pockets in my gums measured 6 and 7. I had my teeth cleaned under my old insurance by the dentist I had been going 6 months prior with no problems. Newport Dental wanted $1500 for the work they said I needed. I told them no thank you and left. I went to my old dentist. I did not need deep cleaning because the pockets were 3 and 4. I also did not need any crowns replaced. This place takes advantage of its patients and upsells things they do not need!

DO NOT GET YOUR WISDOM TEETH PULLED HERE!!!They promised that they would put me to sleep, my insurance approved it and I verified that. The dental surgeon proceeded to lie to me and convince me that being put to sleep would be "dangerous" so I got all 4 pulled awake. They said I needed to pay $400 for a bone graft which wasn't approved by insurance. Okay, fine. More on that later..So they pull all 4 teeth, and the dental assistant proceeds to run through the after care instructions super fast. I didn't retain half of what she said. So I asked her the best I could (all 4 teeth now pulled, blood and so much gauze in my mouth I can barely talk) if she could tell that to my girlfriend who's waiting in the waiting room. She says, "no. You're an adult you can take care of yourself, maybe if you were a kid but you're not."So then I make my way to the front office, where the lady who only cares about money makes me get on the computer to try and log into my bank acct because I left my phone and wallet at home because i was supposed to be put to sleep, again, AFTER the surgery. Gauze in my mouth, blood. Can't talk hardly at all. I just want to go home and stop bleeding. Finally my girlfriend came and put it on her credit card so I could just pay her back later.Terrible. All they care about it turning patients over as fast as possible, and money.

An irresponsible clinic. Very bad manner of the service especially the lady manager. I got a deep dental cleaning there gave me a sore throat, earache and headache. The last time I had the left side cleaned, which was the side the root canal was performed on. I told the situation to the manager before the second time, she told me to go to a root canal clinic. I started to feel pain again after the right side deep cleaning on Friday, so I called her today and asked her to prescribe some medicine. She also said that it is none of her business, she also let me to find the unit that does root canal treatment. I said that it was not one side of the root canal treatment but the other side, I thought it was the infection caused by deep dental cleaning, and I just asked her to ask to prescribe some medicine. Her attitude was very bad, not only refused my request, did not let me speak, and even worse, she actually hung up on me! I'm not seeing this clinic again. I have to change clinics. Please choose your dentist's office carefully!

I got my braces here and the price was very fair! The staff and dentist were very nice and helpful, they always made an effort to be fast and efficient all while being friendly. My orthodontist was friendly as well as informative. Ramon, one of the from office workers, was extremely helpful at helping me find appointments that best fit my schedule and always helped with any questions I had. Overall my experiences here were great and I will continue coming!

I didn't get past the office manager, so I cannot comment on the quality of treatment. After making an appointment, I was emailed quite a few documents. One of the rather lengthy documents said, "I acknowledge the receipt of and understand post-operative instructions and have been given an appointment date to return." This statement didn't fit my situation. I was only wanting a cleaning, so, of course, I did not sign. The office manager insisted that I would get instructions if I had any operation. I told her there is a problem with the document. She said there is no problem with the document. She added that they could not see me today unless I signed. I started to add on the document that I had not received post-operative instructions, but she stopped me and in a scolding tone said, "The documents cannot be altered. I have people trying to alter the documents all the time." I replied, "Probably because they realize there is an error in the document." She said, "There is no problem with our documents." I reluctantly signed and dated the document. The office manager then said I would need to fill out another form to give my pharmacy information. I told her that I had already completed that form. She flipped it over to see that the same pharmacy document had been printed on both sides. I had filled out one of the sides. She asked the receptionist, "Why is this printed on both sides?"Now, I know my response was snarky and I'm not particularly proud of myself for sinking to her level, but I sarcastically said, "Oh, is there a problem with your document?"She said, "If you don't change your attitude, I'm going to ask you to leave."I asked for my documents back and tore them up. There are too many dentists in the area for anyone to have to put up with someone like this.I felt sorry for the receptionist. She seemed nice.

Unsafe, stay away. Tech started x-rays without asking if I could be pregnant. Need I say more. This is malpractice and my health has been put at risk without properly being informed.

This review is overdue, but better late than never. Reading some of the reviews, I didn't have any bad experiences with this place nor the staff. I was referred here by my primary dentist for my wisdom teeth removal. On the day of my surgery, I arrived, and in about fifteen minutes, they took me in the back and throughly explained the process to me and what my situation was looking like. I've never been put to sleep during surgery, so I was nervous. But the staff was very friendly to me and kept reassuring me that everything would be okay. They made conversations with me to get me in a good mood and get my mind off of it, and in about 3 minutes, I knocked out, not remembering anything else. They helped me after I was out of surgery, and the lady walking me to my car was so nice and explained the entire healing process to me once again. I had my two bottom wisdom teeth pulled out, so Mt situation was a difficult one, I was prepared for a horrible recovery, but the dentist who preformed Mt extractions keeps in contact with you all throughout surgery at anytime of the day through text or phone call. In about 2 weeks, I was good to go. They do expect insurance, but it really does depend on the kind of plan you have and how bad your situation is, and what your plan does cover. I had a very good experience with this location.

Unsatisfactory Service! UNFRIENDLY RUDE STAFF! Special mention to this best bad attitude rude frontdesk person name MARIA. First of all, if i can put none star on this review,i would put zero. Came in today for my daughter's dental appointment. We completely forgot our mask. Staff firmly told us they DON'T provide mask and that we have to go get one or buy across the street. So we did. We came back in,and there's a lady checking in no mask and says "Oh i'm sorry i forgot my mask" here comes the staff and a dentist so nice and friendly to her. Provided & Handed a mask to her in front of me coz apparently she's a friend? Wow! And that the dentist provide it to her? Really?! Im speechless to this crappy place. If you this place REQUIRED mask, you guys should provide free mask. Will it make this clinic broke if they would've provided us free mask for my husband,me and my daughter? Guess what? Our next appointment,i will donate boxes of mask and put in front for those patients that forget their mask since you guys are not providing it.We can't wait to stop going to this place. September of this year is my daughter's last brace appointment. After that we are looking for other dental place for my family. Whoever manage this place should take action especially with the attitude and unfriendly staff. As i read reviews, i noticed the same staff named Maria the people are complaining to. And surprisingly the owner still not doing anything with their staff. What a shame! Really shame to the business owner of this place kept commenting "thank you for taking time to post review. Our top priority is to care and repect our patients" Blah blah... Ya right!

I just jumped on to see what time they open and can't believe the negative reviews. Both myself and my son have had lovely experiences there for nearly 10 years and I used to be terrified of the dentist--like scream before they touch me terrified. Yes, there was a time I had such a long wait I just came back the next day. But once in ten years isn't a huge deal. Ramon has always been lovely as has most of their staff. And I've had lots of fillings and work and never a problem with the quality of their care. I get that nobody likes to deal with dental work and might have a degree of anxiety. But I wonder what's happening with other reviewers that they aren't bringing out the best in people.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. My mom was treated there last Saturday. They called her after the treatment and told her she wasn't covered by insurance because she was assigned to another office. Maria said she spoke with my mom's insurance personally and they confirmed coverage. How Maria? By your own admission, you didn't call Delta Dental -they called you. How would they have known to call you if my mom never called to switch providers? She didn't know she had to because you spoke to them - allegedly. I called to switch providers before her 2nd treatment. I told Maria the provider switch would be effective the date of the 2nd treatment and to go on the portal that morning to verify. The day before the 2nd treatment, they canceled her appointment for lack of insurance. I went on the Delta website and it clearly says Newport Dental is the new provider effective the day I told her. Apparently Maria dropped the ball AGAIN because she was off and didn't leave any notes or instructions. I asked Delta Dental if anyone from the insurance company had called Newport Dental authorizing treatment. They had no record of where receiving a request to switch providers which sounds about right because my mom never called. Which means they never called and spoke with Maria. The manager is supposedly looking into it on Monday. Again, why can't they go on the portal tomorrow morning and verify coverage????? DO NOT COME HERE. The level of incompetence is high on the part of the office staff. If my mom had listed to my warning not to come here, she would be much better off.
