The store is astonishing, with something new to discover around each corner. The art and crafting are exquisite (and surprisingly affordable), and Erica impressed me with her knowledge, generosity and deep understanding (and explanation) of the spiritual roots of the pieces on display. Mercadito has been opened for a few years. My husband and I love going here and buying books for the baby and Mexican candy for us. I love the authentic Mexican merchandise they carry. A lotOf the jewelry is handmade by one of the owners. Also they host family paint night once a month which is lots of fun. I love supporting shops like these. Thank you for helping me teach my son about his roots.

I walked into the store and immediately fell in love!! Finally Pasadena has a place where we can connect with authentic LatinX artisans!! And so many colorful options - I wanted to buy everything. My family loved the Mañanitas singing birthday card. Can't wait to come back for the painting and Dia de Los Muertos events! And I Love being able to support my community at the same time.

This boutique featuring cultural and local artists, creatives and vendors is just what this street needed! Located by the Yucan restaurant, El Portal, Mercadito Monarca is a small shop that packs a mighty punch. The owners did a great job curating the perfect collection of cultural and local artisans and artists. Purchasing merchandise from here not only supports a local shop but also the artist they house. There is something for everyone at any price point. You can find prints, sculptures, clothing, magnets, vinyl stickers, masks, books, even house plants! Not only do the owners create a space for artists, they often hosts events at their shops like wine and paint and in 2021, an art/poetry show dedicated to community wellness under We Rise LA. I enjoy my visits to Mercardito Monarca and I look forward to going back.

This was such a wonderful find that I stumbled upon while walking around the area. They have really cool, unique craft/gift items, and it's run by an incredibly nice and welcoming family. I'll be going back to find more items for the holiday gifts.

Very nice and helpful staff. I found a beautiful top from Oaxaca and cool earrings. They also had beautiful Christmas decorations and ornaments. I'll definitely be coming back for some gifts.

Lovely small place, many terrific simple things, all full of life. Bought a face mask handmade by owners abuela; it is sturdy and so colorful! More basics online not in the store too
