I was admitted about a week ago. I was in unit 45. My name is Delmy. I want to give excellent kudos to Abraham (RN) who was my admitting nurse on 03/13/24. He is such a gentle soul. He was very dedicated and attentive. Giving my medication as scheduled. Thanks Abraham for holding my hand and keeping me company when I went thru that anxiety attack. Thanks for bringing in your desk into my room just to stay with me. May God bless you always. We need more people like you. I also want to thank very MUCH! Sarah Lee. Sarah was my day nurse at the same unit. Thanks for your friendly and approachable vibes. Sarah your vibe is very healing to your patients. Keep it up! Thank you HMH. - Delmy M.

I've been at this hospital a few times and every time I am treated very well. The service has been amazing, the doctors and nurses are great. When I come here I know that I will be treated well. Most definitely recommend.

I always recommend this hospital because it is a one stop shop, they have everything you need and it is so convenient and efficient. The staff are kind, helpful, knowledgeable and patient. They try to go above and beyond for you to make sure patient is safe to go home. Love their private rooms that offers a small bed if guests want to stay with their loved ones overnight.

The emergency room has the rudest staff at the front desk ! My son was brought suffer from an esophagus issue at 5pm by the paramedics and we’ve been waiting 6 hours to see a doctor while he suffers in the waiting room . Find another emergency room if your in need this place is like a county facility!

Front sign states part of Cedars Sinai but this hospital is at best a watered down Cedars Sinai. Once you're in the ER, the staff assigns you doctors based on PPO/cash or HMO/MediCal. Unless you're PPO or cash, prepare to be seen by second rate doctors from Caribbean or low rated medical schools. Nurses here are fairly well trained and courteous but 90% of the doctors here are mediocre at best. Dr. Angela Hay is the worse hospitalist ever. If your loved one is assigned to her by your HMO Anthem/Optum; prognosis is 100% death or them being senile for life. She will assemble a team of doctors to prescribe Haldol (Haloperidol), an antipsychotic and broad based antibiotics like Vancomycin. After one week, my loved one was barely able to stay awake and fraily weak. At admittance, I kept telling the Huntington Health Hospital doctors and nurses that past diagnoses were possible cancer. Instead Dr. Hay and her team of doctors kept searching for random infections like Bartonella or allegeries. After 2 whole weeks, lymphoma was finally diagnosed. By that time, my loved one was too sick to receive any chemotherapy or antibody treatment due to. The 2 week lag caused atrial afibrillation and cardiac arrest. After resuscitation, the 4-6 weeks that followed were for nothing. My loved one's lymphoma cancer had metastasized to all her internal organs and central nervous system. In addition she was semicomatosed due to all the random medication, cardiac arrest and antibiotics. The result was endless pressure for "Do Not Resuscitate" and my mother ended up dying from internal organ failure and bleeding.

This is the place where my younger sister was born and the doctors, nurses, and any faculty were very kind to me. (She was born in 2016, December 29).

Went to the er on the weekend with a diagnosis from my dr bc my pain was significantly worse. Wouldn’t look at my X-rays, and didn’t diagnose the same problem, wouldn’t call a specialist or an actual dr. Drive to cedars instead at least you’ll see a Dr.

Perhaps it is not fair to judge on one experience; however, it is important we share our experiences regardless. Let me start by writing that I had lumbar surgery over a year ago at this same hospital and all except one nurse were amazing! This recent visit was my fist time in the ED of this hospital. The day prior I had surgery and was rushed home as soon as I opened one eye and said I was in pain. They gave me a small pain pill and sent me off wobbling. No wheelchair and no assistance to my waiting vehicle. They never got my pain under control and I landed in the ED the following day with excruciating pain. Furthermore, I was allergic to the pain medicine. As I entered the ER hunched over from pain I was greeted by 2 security officers. I mentioned I have metal in my back before they use the wand and one was very polite. Officer Robinson had a chip on his shoulder and told me he has metal in his body too and was rude. Once inside nurse Mia who placed my IV was uncaring despite seeing me in pain. She gave me a pain pill and walked away never to come back and check on me or offer me a blanket. She was also dishonest about not being able to see notes from the previous night..Nurse Jeff in contrast was empathic and polite. Dr Kamal was empathic and showed compassion. Thank you. It's unfortunate that some nurses go into nursing for the money and not the human aspect of it and wish they would evaluate them on this. If not for nurse Jeff, Dr Kamal and a few kind admin, I would never go back to this hospital. They just merged with Cedar Sinai but in my 40+ years of going to Cedars, I have never experienced such coldness and non-shalant service from nurses at that hospital as I have at Huntington in just 2 visits. Thank you, Dr. Kamal. You are appreciated.

Huntington Hospital does not respect visitor preferences to wear masks at all times inside the facility. This happens while CDC says we're in the second biggest Covid wave in history and LA County's Covid risk level is Medium/High (which requires masking in acute care hospitals). These jokers still MAKE YOU PULL OFF YOUR MASK to take an unnecessary mug shot in order to visit patients. They also scan your drivers license and store it in their database. Despite the fact that they could very easily use your license photo, they still persist in making visitors remove their masks inside the hospital. It's a stupid, short-sighted policy more akin to visiting a prison than a healthcare facility.

Been at the hospital ER for three hours and no one has seen us. They sent me to get my blood drawn and literally just sitting here. Clearly do not care about patients wellbeing or how much pain they’re in.

My brother-in-law was just admitted late last night. Found out this morning and headed straight there to console my sister who was emotional stressed. From the front receptionist to the nurses, patient care coordinator and doctors, everyone was so helpful and caring. It really helps the patient and their family feel much at ease when they see how much they care and the attention that’s put into their work. I am so thankful my brother-in-law is in great hands.
