The day we went was not so busy but we couldn't find any staff to help at first. When we found them it was a mix of unknowledgeable or not really wanting to help. We were sent to the audio department to wait for assistance, LUCKILY the guy that showed up saved the day and experience. He knew exactly what we were looking for and even gave us a little lesson on the history. I didn't catch his name but he had a badge that said Drum Expert. Anyway.... Thanks for helping us out! Guitar Center rocks ??

Sadly, Guitar Center is dead. I bought my expensive DW drumset here in 2006, as well as numerous Paiste cymbals. hardware and lots of other stuff since the early 90s here before this once great franchise became too corporate. Today I wanted to spend $300-$450 on a nice hi-hat. I had 4 lined-up ready to chose one from them.
Adam (the drum guy) finally showed up. He said he was 'slammed' (SIC) and didn't want to give me 5 minutes to let me test the cymbals on a hi-hat stand.
Pro tip: When a drummer wants a cymbal, allow him/her to gently test it (compare sound side-by-side). If testing is no longer allowed, then there is no reason to shop there.

Joey in dj equipment wet his pants seeing a girl. The guy has an attitude and not ever, I mean EVER work in customer service. He was all nice to the girl thinking he was gonna hook up. Then my turn came and he became extremely impatient with me. All I asked is what he would recommend for active monitors. Guy has a chip on his shoulder. Anyways, hope the store manger reads this and wish you all the best. Sweetwater is going to sink guitar center just wait. Same as what happened to sam Ash. Then Joey could go and take a hike.

I purchased a $2500 guitar online from this store. I called to ask for more pictures (only 1 picture was posted) as the GC rating condition is a joke. My information was taken. Never received the pictures. I called about 5 times a day for 3 days straight and the phone kept ringing and ringing. NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE AT THIS LOCATION. I just got lucky the first time I called I guess. I'm confirming what many others have stated regarding this. No efforts on the staff to take better pictures and email them to me, nor have the ability to answer the phone.
Update: Received the guitar rated as GREAT CONDITION. See pictures. (plus a few more dings on headstock and other areas). I returned it to my closest GC, who said that guitar is in FAIR to GOOD CONDITION.

I feel sorry for the few employees that still work there. They are the ones that have to deal with the upset customers who have to stand in long lines just to get some help or have a question answered. No one answers the phone anymore. You have a better chance of getting through the line when calling the DMV. Had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to have the one employee working the register open up the pedal cabinet so that I can try out a few pedals. Saw one that I liked, over $200 but then saw the line at the register and said never mind and left the store. Guitar Center Hollywood - all I can say is WOW! Totally night and day compared to Pasadena. Customer service the way I remembered. Awesome. Drove about an hour in traffic to Hollywood just to get a Strymon and didn't mind it one bit. GC Pasadena, get rid of your rude managers and hire more floor people. You can get two floor people by getting rid of one rude manager. Just sayin.

If every employee was as kind, informative, and fun to talk to as Evan was, I'd be doing a lot more buying here. My last couple of visits were tough, but having Evan help me resulted in a good purchase and great experience. He may be the last great customer service person on the planet, let alone at Guitar Center.

Don’t bother calling, they don’t answer phones. Spent 2 days trying to call and never spoke with a human.
