The basturma is fabulous and the service is good. Not much else to say. We worry about who will take over the business, quality, and tradition/s once Garo and his wife retire.

Grade A: Very good Basterma. Modestly stocked Mediterranean groceries & spices also. Owner Maggie is very helpful. The store has it's own parking.

Garo's Basturma has fresh and delicious meats and Soujoukh. The older lady working there is really kind and sweet. The one suggestion I have for this business is PLEASE do not get supplies from Turkish companies. I saw Turkish red pepper paste and tomato paste being sold here. As Armenians we're already very little in the world and we need to support each other as much as we can - and boycott Turkish/Azeri products/businesses. Again, my suggestion to Garo's Basturma: Please purchase from Armenian suppliers and businesses instead! There's so many delicious and high-quality Armenian tomato paste/red pepper paste brands.

We've been shopping here for basturma for over 30 years. It's the best and freshest basturma,soujuk and meats. People from all over Los Angeles, and parts of California shop here for basturma. Very well known Lebanese restaurant in GLENDALE, Pasadena and Hollywood order all basturma from here. My family's favorite lean tender basturma, it's like the Italian Barsola meat

We stopped by and bought basturma and pork maaneh upon the lady's suggestion. The basturma was amazing, fresh and very flavorful but I was extremely disappointed in the maaneh. It had been more then 15 years since I've had it and was very excited cooking it today. Sadly, upon cooking it some white particles were oozing out of it (was it fat? Or what?) am not sure. The smell was weird and it had no taste I had to toss it out and toss out the rest I had in the freezer. It's such a shame to waste such an expensive food , Do you agree with me? And yes, I was upset.

If you put basturma in the name of your store you better make excellent basturma... OK, timeout. Before I go any further- confession: this was our first time trying basturma... Now back to the review...This was the best basturma we've ever had :)... Seriously, we added this to our sandwiches and it was excellent. Now that sausage she tricked us into buying- NOT...A...FAN...But try their basturma- it's very tasty.
