This is the worst experience that could have happened. We went to the clinic for our kitten and were immediately offered a surgery that, we were told, would be completely safe. Specifically, a small incision needed to be made on the eyelid. At first, Dr. Hoffman was very kind. On the same day, we received a bill for almost $4000!!Two weeks later, we did not see any positive changes and returned to the clinic. Dr. Hoffman announced that a second surgery was needed because the stitches had come apart. And also, another surgery may be needed afterwards, so two more surgeries for almost $8000. She immediately began accusing us, saying it was our fault. When we arrived for the scheduled surgery, we waited for the doctor for almost an hour. Dr. Hoffman came, glanced at our kitten's face for a second, and immediately announced that they were taking him for another operation. But we wanted to get some information first. Can anesthesia be done so often? Why were we immediately offered a second and third surgery? Shouldn't some tests be done first? Apparently, this began to irritate her a lot, and she literally pushed us into the operating room, not providing any information! We were completely shocked by her tone of voice, it seemed like she deliberately wanted to do the surgery to get more money from us. After we refused to operate on the cat, a scandal ensued. They demanded an additional $300 from us, supposedly for a test that was done. But no test was conducted! The doctor leaned in and looked at the cat, and apparently they called it a "TEST". After we left the hospital, we were bombarded with calls, Dr. Hoffman herself almost threatening that we would lose the cat's eye. After this horrifying experience, we went to another clinic where we were told that Hoffman had performed the WRONG OPERATION!! In other words, she literally treated the consequence of the problem intentionally, in order not to solve it definitively, and we kept going back to the clinic for surgery again and again. It's hard for me to believe that there are places where people profit from the suffering of our pets! Take care of them, and never go to this clinic.

many many thanks to Dr Hoffman and her team at Eye Care for Animals in Pasadena (esp Nadine A.)... they took a chance at saving Ms Maddie's sight (at least in one eye) and reattached her retina...We could not have asked for any better care, compassion or professionalism than was given...

If 0 stars were possible, it would be my rating of choice. The vet was late to our consultation, botched the first surgery, proposed a second surgery to correct what should've been done the first time with insinuation of a possible third, and when we asked for an inspection to bolster our consideration of this correction, we were charged $250 for 5min of the vet's time. She expressed a condescending attitude in the explanation of my cat's ailments, and in the end, when I brought my cat to another veterinarian (Veterinary Eye Clinic in Alhambra), it was made apparent that the vet at Eye Care for Animals of Pasadena was treating a symptom and not the cause. It was an unpleasant experience. I highly recommend the Veterinary Eye Clinic in Alhambra for your animal's eye care -- and earnestly discourage you from going to Eye Care for Animals - Pasadena.

Everything about our experience here was wonderful! We had our dog go blind suddenly and we’re so grateful to get in to see Dr. Hoffman. Ian was wonderful on the phone to help us schedule the appointment and Frida was great at the front office! Everything was explained easily to us and any questions we had we always were followed up with the technician Marissa. Cannot say enough good things another them helping us cate for our dog!

This place does not even deserve one star This place has the worst Customerservice I have ever experienced at a veterinarian. I was hung up twice by Wendy, who was a condescending brat, and I was also speaking with the manager who yak and yak and yak, and went on because it sounded like she likes to listen to her talk, but she didn't give me the information. She kept telling me May I talk may I talk and I would say go ahead go ahead what are you going to tell me and she would go on and ramble on about how she wanted to communicate but never communicated to me about my dogs prescriptions. They have a very crazy way of dispensing medication's. I asked Wendy why they didn't call the prescription into chewy pharmacy and she said it was my responsibility to do that. I cannot call in a prescription and I cannot call chewy and tell them I need a prescription to call eye care for animals. Protocol has been the veterinarian calls the prescription into said pharmacy. Trying to get the information from Maria but she really likes to hear herself talk and not give the correct information out. She says she's a manager and I would say she's a very unqualified manager because she just likes to hear herself talk and treat people poor. I'm guessing based on both Wendy and Maria's attitude that they are trained to treat customers that way. Maria wants to make it sound like it's rocket science and I'm just merely trying to find out what pharmacy and if they are financially affiliated with the compounding pharmacies. But Maria seems to not understand or withhold that information from me, it appears they do not like to communicate just bark the little they know at customers. they just like to yak on about how right they are. Well my dog needs its medication and I don't know where to go because their egos won't allow them to give information that I'm asking for and if they're financially affiliated with these pharmacies. It appears they care more about themselves and their ego, and their self righteousness, rather than the well-being of my dogs. Going to eyecare for animals is extremely expensive and I go there about every three months for them to check my dogs and it's about a 600.00 bill every time and they want to treat me like this. I live three hours away and they said I could drop in and get the prescription or the medication. They act like compounding is a secret. It’s easy to come by. Yet they talk about compounding pharmacies and they carry these prescription in their office. That tells me they do have a financial interest. I explained this to them and they really don't care. So if you like being treated poorly by Wendy and Maria, knock yourself out and go there. If you want to be treated nicely with respect, find another eyecare place to go to for your dog. Now I'm just wondering if they're just playing me and giving me bogus prescriptions why do I say that because they give me five different eyedrops to put in my one of my dogs eye. Five different ones. I would think if they have a compounding pharmacist that the compounding pharmacist would be able to make one eyedrop rather than five. Are they running a scam or is it legitimate? I don't know because I can't speak with a professional there to ask questions. These two brats don't know how to have an intelligent conversation. It's pathetic. And at this eyecare for animals you need to have a professional call me who can have an intelligent conversation about my dogs medication and I'm not talking Wendy or Maria.

Their pricing is outrageous! I believe the office provides excellent care but the pricing is completely out of touch with the average dog owner. The extra charges tacked on are nonsensical. I drove 3 hours one way for a visit that cost $297.50 (I was there 30 minutes). I was given a cost for a basic small dermoid eye removal of $5087.78 (a 20 minute procedure) and that was in addition to the visit cost. I obtained other estimates from qualified veterinarians between $1800 and $2200. I found the price gouging to be offensive. I will say they have a state of the art office and kind staff but so out of touch with the average person. Very disappointed. But I did get this very nice folder to hold my expensive estimate in.

Fabulous practice. We needed to be seen urgently for eye surgery and were coming from the Palm Springs area as there were no surgeons in our area. The team at Eye Care for Animals Pasadena were so great, got us in early the morning after we called, completed the surgery same day and got our baby all taken care of. I would highly recommend them.

Traveled from India for retinal reattachment surgery.I approached Eye Care for Animals after my 3-year-old Shih Tzu lost vision. Through quick research, I gained insight into their expertise and discovered positive experiences in similar cases. I virtually met Dr. Hoffman, who promptly identified my dog as a viable candidate based on his ultrasound reports. Dr. Hoffman displayed exceptional knowledge and patiently addressed all my inquiries. The facility itself is remarkable and well-equipped to perform specialized procedures. It is conveniently located, particularly for individuals traveling from different cities or countries. The staff members are all extremely courteous and provided diligent post-operative care for Joey. They even assisted with the necessary paperwork for Joey's travel arrangements. Thanks to the exceptional care provided, Joey made a full recovery, and we are overjoyed with the results. Our overall experience was truly exceptional!

We were referred here by our vet. Our male pitbull had eye surgery 3 weeks ago but his eyes were slowly healing but not getting any better. Come to find out, the stitches, our vet decided not to remove, where causing the problem. In his right eye, his eye lash wasgrowing down into his eye, irritating it and in his left, the worser of the two, a stitch was going directly into his cornea, causing the huge ulcer to have formed and on top of that, a ball had formed as well. Dr. Hoffman, removed the stitches in both eyes, giving him instant relief. The triple antibiotic that was prescribed to him, has worked miracles! The day after first applying it to both eyes, his eyes looked 100 times better! We are now on day 4 and his eyes are now 10000% better, and almost healed! All th old blood and discharge is coming out and he is so much happier! Able to play with his little sisters ?. Thank you everyone for what you did to help our baby boy!

My dog developed infections on her eyes a week after her surgery, and completely lost her eyesight, and It costs lots of money to get it fixed. I spent nearly $9000 for the surgery, and the hospital wanted another $5000 to clean the infection. I think it was a surgical site infection, and they did not want to take action on it unless I paid extra $$$.

Wow! Just an amazing team, from customer service to their technician Andy and Dr Conrad, are the best! They helped out our cat when she was very ill. They assessed the severy of my cat and made room for an emergency appointment. They were very sweet and gentle when handling my cat when she was under a lot of pain. They provided options for my cat, and I made the decision to have her eye removed due to the severity. To be completely honest, we were scared of having a new Dr and obviously the cost, but after everything, the cost was reasonable. My cat is doing great! Her incision is looking good, and my cat is surprisingly not scared when she sees them during check-up visits. Would recommend 100% and bring any future paw babies if in need.
