It was an awesome hike , this is a safe popular trail, family kid and pet friendly. There was water but not so much as May.It has a lot of shade through outNot very heavy either, there were little baby frogs on the river, the main parking inside gets full easily but there is a secondary parking just down the main entrance to the left, many people don’t know about this.Bring hat, big repellant, water and a snackPortapotty at the entrance , unless the nature center is open, but it was closed even tho the sign said it should be open.

It's a good place for hiking. You can feel nature and the depth of your soul.If you go to the park, plastic bags are okay for dog poop. But when you come to Eaton Canyon, please use paper bags to dispose of dog p**** Plastic bags will really pollute the land here. Do you want this land to be as polluted as China? I don't think so.

I discovered this area quite by accident in a morning walk and decided to take the gang back here later. This center is located at the base of the San Gabriel mountains. Well marked trails. The trail we chose was easy and fairly flat with slight inclines and curves. It was a beautiful day for a hike. Free outdoor parking. It can get overcrowded at certain times of the year. Just be aware there is secondary parking that is clearly marked.

This trail is beautiful. It gets very busy during holidays. It's usually more busy on the weekends than weekdays as well. This trail is good for families. Many people bring their pets as well. A good portion of the trail is shaded. Always bring more water than what you expect to need. There is some moderate incline. Trail shoes or hiking boots are good for this hike. There's different streams of waters throughout the trail. Many people jump in to refresh after the hike. You can bring food and picnic on the rocks surrounding the water. The waterfall gets crowded for pictures. They have 2 sections of parking on the inside of the trail and street parking on the outside. Happy hiking.

What an awesome waterfall, this is one of the best hikes I have been.. took almost 1:30 hrs to reach the waterfalls from trailhead(it won't take that long, took pictures on the way) Waterproof hiking shoes are must for better grip as you cross water flows/small rocks on the way through. By the time reached the location(8am), there are lot of hikers already on the trail. Free parking and free entry. Picnic tables are available.

After several years, I finally returned to this hike, and I'm glad I did. On July 9th, a Sunday, I arrived around 8:45 am and found the parking lot quite full. We had to move to the over-capacity lot. We wasted no time and started on the trail promptly. The initial part of the trail is quite open, offering little shade. However, as you progress, you'll encounter numerous streams that may pose a challenge to keeping your shoes dry. I highly recommend either bringing sandals for crossing, packing extra socks, or wearing waterproof shoes. Many people opted to simply walk through the water, as the lines to cross the stream were quite long. I even witnessed a few slips and helped others up after they lost their footing. It's essential to be cautious and well-prepared. If your shoes lack proper grip or balance, it's better to get them wet than risk slipping, falling, and potentially injuring yourself.Upon reaching the falls, I found it surrounded by a considerable crowd of 50-100 people. We decided to head back around 11:30 am, just as a large influx of hikers began arriving. The trail is generally suitable for kids, dogs, and even the elderly. Just keep in mind that during the summer, it can get extremely crowded. Make sure to bring water to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen to protect against sunburn.Overall, this hike was memorable, offering a scenic experience. However, the popularity of the trail means it can be crowded, especially during peak times. With the right preparation and awareness, it's still an enjoyable adventure for hikers of various ages and skill levels.

Returned after several years and the trail was clean and with less graffiti! Because of all the storms this year, the waterfall is fabulous, especially on a hot day!

This has been one of my go to hiking spots since high school. It is pet friendly and there is plenty of parking. I revisited this hike most recently on May 2023. Because this is such a popular hiking spot, they have graciously created another parking lot called the overflow lot. There you can find plenty of parking spots on the dirt road. The hike itself took my friend and I around 4 hours and it was about a 4? mile hike. The hike is well worth the trip because you are able to encounter river crossings and a waterfall at the very end of the hike. It is a pretty easy hike for beginners - I saw a ton of kids doing it, people in jeans, people wearing dresses, hiking in flip flops/crocs, etc. Theres is rocky terrain and a lot of navigation needed to walk across the rocks through the river/streams so I would not recommend it to elderly people who are prone to slip and break a bone. I would, however, highly recommend it to dogs! I brought my pup and he was so scared of he water, I had to carry him through all of the streams. BUT (proud mama moment), I forced him to cross one river on his own and he got the hang of it/was able to cross the rest of the rivers! I highly recommend waterproof shoes/hiking boots if you don't like to hike with soggy socks/shoes. It is almost guaranteed 100% that your shoes will get wet. Waterfall at the end of it all was plentiful and beautiful! I have not seen the waterfall so strong before (thank you rain). 10/10 would recommend this hike and I dare say this is one of my favorite hikes of all times!
