Hours: At Cottage Co-Op Nursery School, our kids play. Free, unstructured, child-led play is how children learn best. They explore, experiment, build understanding, construct meaning, grow connections. Our kids drive their own learning, and we value their process. We give kids time to play. Parents and teachers work together here, to facilitate children’s learning, by learning ourselves. We learn from the kids, and we learn from each other. We are teaching and learning all the time, each of us. We unlearn and re-learn emotional regulation and conflict resolution. We listen to kids about who they are and what they need to grow. We develop language that honors our children as people, while setting boundaries that help them feel safe.
