I am just back from collecting my second dress from alterations with Carmen at Bridal ST and I am thrilled with the outcome and actually feel quite emotional! I came to Carmen on a recommendation from a colleague at JPL. I had just had a dreadful experience where I had to walk out of my fitting crying at another local alterations place who added on loads of costs after our agreed-upon quote simply because they could as it was so close to the wedding, said they weren’t able to do the previously agreed upon alterations and got blood on my dress from the pins which left me very panicked with 8 weeks til my wedding. Ironically, my colleague also had a very bad experience at the same place and Carmen at Bridal ST saved her wedding dress! It was safe to say I was really stressed and knew there was not much time. However clearly someone up there is looking out for me. I thank my lucky stars that this experience led me to Carmen! She was so kind and welcoming from the get-go, and I felt much calmer after our consultation. In talking to her, I could tell she was an expert and master at her craft and her passion for her art really shone through. Turns out that she designs and makes her own dresses so she knows the intricate detailing that is needed on even very complex designs. And the store stocks some beautiful dresses, including one of my favorite brands, Pronovias. Carmen knew exactly what was needed and made expert recommendations at my fitting, for all the things the other establishment said they were unable to do. Both of my dresses (Pronovias and Galia Lahav) had a lot of complex layers involving horsehair and lace as well as tulle, and the Galia Lahav has lots of 3D flowers and sequins. Carmen worked quickly and expertly in taking them up and taking the dresses in. She even insisted on hand stitching some fabric at the zipper today as she felt it was getting caught in zipping it up and wanted me to be more comfortable. I thought this was really sweet. The bustle looks excellent and I feel so comfortable walking, she did it in such a way that the shape really flatters me. I’ve lost some weight and lost my curves but whatever she did has now given me some shape which I am so happy about. My first dress is sentimental to me because I live here in Pasadena away from home, and I chose it with my Mom who flew all the way from Ireland to be with me in choosing it. My second dress is particularly special to me as I am indecisive and it remained on my mind after choosing the first one. I’ve tried to please everyone else with this wedding resulting in much stress, and I feel getting it is the one thing I did for me and me only, and it was really special to me that my fiancé insisted on getting it for me :) it takes a lot of trust in choosing your seamstress, and I want to recommend Carmen to any bride, especially those feeling the anxiety and stress of wedding planning - she is an absolute expert, talented and kind person and I am so glad I found her. Lori, the store owner is also very welcoming and kind and the price was very fair and reasonable. I want to also highlight that of all the alterations places I checked out this is the only place I went to that has a large fitting room. After weeks of checking out places and being stuffed into tiny rooms that my poofy first dress couldn’t fit into, my friend said to me “the large fitting room is a sign they show a lot of consideration for their brides”. I felt very comfortable getting changed and felt good in myself as a result. Just wanted to note that and to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Carmen and Lori for a very pleasant experience, for being an absolutely integral part of the wedding, and for making me feel so beautiful and confident as I gear up for my special day back home in Ireland! I will add photos when I come back from the wedding and I will be recommending you in work and calling the store where I got the dress to add you to their recommended list. Go to Bridal ST for your alterations, it will be the best choice you ever made in your wedding journey!

Bridal and Special times has my gratitude forever! I called them on a SUNDAY, the DAY of my daughter's wedding, and explained that her veil had been accidentally transported to Oregon with some of their moving boxes. They opened the store, just for us, only for us, and had the perfect veil for my daughter's dress. Crisis averted. She needed a blusher for the ceremony and they sewed it on while we waited. I'm sorry I didn't get any names, but I'm certain it was the owner who answered her phone on a Sunday. We couldn't be more happy with this location.

Lori was so wonderful. I am so picky style wise and this was my first bridal shop I visited and I found my dress as the third one I tried on. I'm so thankful for the affordability of the shop too. My friend and I were so excited about the amazing deal I got, and the dress is seriously EXQUISITE!! I can't wait to add a photo once I get the dress tailored and get to wear it on my wedding day. So grateful to have come across this shop in Pasadena. It was an amazing experience and I truly didn't think I could get such a beautiful dress on a budget. Thank you, Lori!!

Carmen was extremely helpful, kind, a great listener, highly professional, and extremely knowledgeable about dresses, tailoring, and even seamstress information like creating your own sleeves, caplette, embroidery, etc. from scratch. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to buy something off the rack and if you want to bring your family to explore their selection and have a private curated experience!

This was my first and only wedding dress shop. We didn't need to go anywhere else, she made it so easy with no stress or pressure. I didn't think I wanted a veil but she suggested one and it made the look come together. If you're looking at these reviews just go ahead and schedule your appointment, you won't regret it.

I had the most disgusting insulting time at this bridal shop. I specifically asked if they had any tea length wedding dresses, and they said yes, not many. There was not one! But I guess they wanted me to come in. I tried to make the best out of it and try on some dresses maybe to surprise myself and change my idea of what I want for my wedding. They did have many pretty extra long dresses, but it really didn't matter since they were so short with me, they were just staring at me and wispering in their language... then they told me to go look at dresses, I felt so lost. It was worse than going to downtown LA. Maybe because I have $500 budge? But for the right one I was willing to spend more. The seamstress was so short with me and I thought well anyone can have a bad day. I was told to leave from the back door when I was trying to look at the other side of their shop for dresses. But I thought to my self this was the only time they had for me. As I was trying to be personable and polite I said thank you so much and the woman just shut the door, no "thanks for your visit". So rude!! Don't know how they stay open!

Lori ( the owner), was very gentle and pleasant. She paid very close attention to what I wanted and was not pushy about make me try on things that I didn't like. She really made me and my family feel comfortable and caters to us the whole time we were there. She made finding my dress so special and allowed me try on veils to possibly match all the dresses that I tried on. What I really loved was she can do all the alterations and add whatever you want to the dress right there in the store, you don't have to take it elsewhere. Overall a great experience and more importantly I said " yes" to the dress and cried. Thank you so much Lori

The owner Lori and her seamstress Danni are the absolute best!! I'm so glad I heard about Bridal and Special Times from my friend, who also got her wedding dress here. After going to many other bridal salons, I found my dream wedding dress (Pronovias Aethra) on Bridal ST's online catalog, and Lori gave me such a good deal on it compared to the prices at other salons. Also, even if you find a dress you like elsewhere, there's a good chance Lori can get it for you for the best price, so make sure to ask! My dress arrived by her estimated time and Lori and Danni were so attentive for all my fittings, making sure everything was exactly as I wanted and fit perfectly, and taking the time to sew down or steam some of the flower appliqués that were sticking out in my dress. And Danni is such a talented seamstress, her work is so beautiful and seamless! Lori and Danni truly want you to look and feel your best, I felt like they were my fairy godmothers and I am so thankful for all their love and care!

Lori is very nice and helpful and made this dress shopping experience very positive for me! She is very nice and I highly recommend coming here if you want someone nice to give you a great experience dress shopping :) I've been dress shopping other places and was ignored/ not helped but it wasn't that way here. They also have a beautiful selection of dresses and right when I walked in I already saw a bunch of beautiful dresses even though I'm pretty picky. She answered all my questions and is very responsive. I love this place!
