Okay need to update. So I downgraded my membership and got double charges by basecamp for both my new and old levels. Called, and they said they'd fix it right up and call me back later that day. I had to call back and talk to someone, and was again assured it would be fixed and refunded. Well, here we are two weeks later....and nothing has been refunded. I had to call again today and was assured someone would fix it and call me back. They also offered to just credit my account. With the money, which normally I would be fine with, but because of how this has gone, I don't trust that it would be credited correctly...hopefully this works out today... Okay refund has finally been issued...so hopefully it's off my card soon. UPDATE: All fixed!!

I spent about a decade telling myself "this year is the year I become more active and exercise". Basecamp is quite literally the only exercise option that has worked for me. I've tried personal training, all the different stand alone gyms, but Basecamp is it for me. My favorite coaches are Stephanie, Brandon, and Matt! I have some physical limitations and each of them are so kind and take extra care to ensure I modify the exercises that may cause me issues. I really don't think I'd exercise if it wasn't for Basecamp, which has totally changed my life. the front desk staff are also the absolute best!

Decided to try this and found it is a great gym! The format keeps things new and interesting with a lot of variety. I like how you can track the workout and know what is next with the screens. Stephanie does a fantastic job giving us that positive energy and enthusiasm to pull deep when tired. Nico was super helpful in understanding how to make it work with my schedule and budget. And I love how they have a parking option, which is difficult in that part of Pasadena. Definitely recommend. Great energy.

Located across Pasadena Playhouse, Basecamp Fitness is one of the many boutique gyms around town that offer a roughly 50-minute workout. In a nutshell, the usual setup includes floor exercises with an assortment of equipment such as free weights, TRX, medicine balls, Bosu balls, agility ladders, and plyo boxes, depending on the day. These exercises are staggered with sprints on your assigned stationary bike, allowing you to either maintain your heart rate or take a quick breather. TV screens up above provide instruction on your current station and next station as well as what are essentially GIFs of the exercises for you to emulate. At the end of the regular class, some instructors lead you through additional movements such as burpees, wall sits, planks, and other core strengthening exercises, while others lead you through a cooldown stretch. All while the playlist of the day is blasting away. I decided to join after attending their Yelp's Fit Club event back in mid-July. As part of the cohort, the rest of the month was free of charge which didn't hurt. Their price model has memberships from 1-class/week to unlimited. Since I was preparing for a Spartan Beast, I justified going unlimited to the tune of $180/month. From August to mid-October, I would mix between the 7am class and afternoon class at 5:15pm, sometimes both on the same day. To some that may seem like much, but I noticed other familiar faces that doubled, if not tripled, their daily attendance. Parking is plentiful in the mornings with validation inside the structure and ample street parking. It's another story in the afternoons in the hustle and bustle of Pasadena. Not sure if they penalize for being late, but no-shows and late cancels (less than 8 hours before class starts) incur a $10 charge. On the subject of my fellow classmates, the very nature of the class setting shuffling between stations and watching the interval clock tick down made it feel difficult to get to know them. Gradually I had a few chances to talk to some folks post-workout, and over time we would support one another with fist bumps and a knowing nod. The instructors are all dynamic and supportive in their own way, and after a while I got used to their energies and go-to phrases. But what sets this establishment apart from the rest of the competition, you ask? Occasionally there were biking fundraisers, educational seminars from local businesses, and a Summer Sizzle challenge. For purely breaking a sweat and getting a pump, that might be all you need. I felt they could have added more creativity throughout each week to make the workout more fun. Based on attendance, there are T-shirts given out for each milestone, such as attending 100 classes. I saw someone wearing a 1000 class shirt, which impressed me to no end. Well, I made the push for that 100th class...and somehow they forgot. This doesn't happen too often, since the celebrations for milestone T-shirts happen fairly often, usually with fanfare from instructors and obligatory clapping from everyone else. In my experience, I had to ask the front desk. Turned out I had already taken 102 classes! If that's not extra credit, I don't know what is. After my Spartan Beast, I decided to cancel since I was going to be out of town for at least a month. Don't be like me and not know that you need to give an advanced notice of 5 days before your next pay cycle. Their system doesn't allow for quick changes to your membership, for some reason. All in all, a good experience. Just remember to stay informed.

Basecamp Fitness is easily the best place to workout in Pasadena. Tai, the Studio Manager, and Stephanie, the Fitness manager are the heart and soul of this place, along with the incredible front desk and coaches. You can tell they genuinely care about every member's progress and well-being.From the quality and challenging workouts to the tight-knit community and fun events and celebrations, I'm so grateful to have found this place. Thank you for all that you do for us!

I loved the light in there, the exercises and the volume of the music was loud enough to push you but not so lout that it is exhausting. The coach also corrected my execution, what I loved.

Ah, Basecamp Fitness, where my once-jointed limbs go to have a good laugh. My doctor recommended fitness, and I made a huge mistake trying this place. I lasted 5 minutes. Here are my thiughts on the place. The rhythmic pounding of both my heart and the music was reminiscent of my time in the Roaring Twenties(kidding). The trainers, bless their energetic souls, they make me feel like I'm attending a pep rally instead of trying not to break a hip. The music, my dear friend, the music is a masterpiece of modern beats and electronic cacophony that would make Mozart turn in his grave. Let's not forget the camaraderie. The fellow workout enthusiasts, all half my age, talking about their twitters and tinders. In conclusion, if you're seeking an experience that's equal parts physical torture and time travel to a parallel universe where exercise resembles interpretive dance, Basecamp Fitness is your sanctuary.

Back in mid-July 2023, I attended a Yelp event held at Basecamp Fitness in Pasadena. After the event, Basecamp offered free classes for the rest of July to all the 626 Yelpies who attended... sweet! So I took advantage of the offer and attended both Saturdays and Sundays through the end of July. I am grateful I got a chance to try out their classes primarily for core/cardio, full body, upper body, and lower body that runs about 45 mins in the form of 1 min intervals routine on the floor and rotating back to the bike for X number of rounds. At the end, there is a 10 mins core wind down period before class is concluded. Believe me... you're not going to get bored and the class goes by really fast. This is my first time experiencing such a workout regimen. It's making me sweat a lot and I love it LOL. Kid you not, I think I lost 2 lbs after my first class LOL. Playhouse Plaza has parking which is next to Basecamp (they validate 75 mins parking... nice!). After a great workout, you may walk around town and check out the great shopping and dining options on Colorado Blvd that happens to be conveniently located about one block north of Basecamp. How cool is that! Entire staff is friendly, pleasant, and wonderful. Training instructors are fantastic all around... they provide great inspiration and motivation to their members. It did not take me long to get into the program. I ended up joining as a member, but since I live a distance, I can only attend mostly weekend classes. Hence, I opted for the 4 times per month to month package. They had a special for the 626 Yelpies so I jumped on it! I look forward to a healthier and better fit me in the months and years to come. Thank you so much Basecamp for your awe-inspiring crew and fun & fulfilling workout classes! P.S. If you haven't tried Basecamp, don't think about it, just give them a try to see if it's for you. They do offer a free trial class... just ask!

I've been going to Basecamp for about 7 months now, I can say that they have changed the fitness game for me, I feel committed and disciplined to a routine that I've never had.The short but impactful sessions are so effective in building strength and balance, the coaches are nice and knowledgeable, you can control how much you want to push yourself in every session, you can adjust most of the exercises to your own liking and condition,I recommend Basecamp to everyone interested in taking control of their physical health,

Thanks to a Yelp special, I was able to try out their classes. After going to a few Basecamp classes, I decided to join. Their workouts are great. It's a HIIT style with you rotating between the assault bike and exercises for 1 min intervals for 30 rounds. The staff and instructors are great! It's a nice add in to my routine. Parking is also really easy. I highly recommend!

Basecamp has the best instructors! They motivate you to do your best and they're always high energy and funny. I like how they have different classes throughout the week that focus on core, cardio, upper body, lower body, and full body. I'm seeing my results as I have gained muscle and become more lean. I recently finished the Summer Sizzle Challenge where you are to complete 15 classes within 21 days. It was so much fun! Plus, they give you an incentive. They offer fun challenges like this throughout the year. Basecamp has multiple 45 minute classes throughout the day that start as early as 6:00 AM and as late as 6:15 PM. There is 1 hour street parking on El Molino and Green street. They also validate garage parking. Their bathrooms are clean and although I haven't used their showers, they look clean as well.
