Ohh feels so good!!I opened up a Bank of the West account in good faith.I deposited money even prior to receiving the card . But by the time I got my card I couldn't activate it because of the reason THERE WAS A NOTE ON MY ACCOUNT !! THAT NO ONE WORKING WITH THE BANK KNOWS HOW TO READ BECAUSE THEY COULDNT TELL ME???? over the phone. I know I have money waiting for me and that I needed to get verified at a branch level so they can combine my accounts .Ohh feels so good !That is why I was told to go to a branch and this one specifically is a wealth management one in pasadena which is special accounts . So I came here to activate my debit card and do any account maintenance to get my ? money as stated on the note they couldn't tell me .Ohh feels soo good!!!!Not really Because I was concerned when they couldn't READ AT THE BRANCH LEVEL... THE NOTE?? SO THEY COULDNT ACTIVATE OR GIVE ME A REASON JUST A STARE THAT MY ACCOUNT CANNOT BE ACTIVE .it at this level even with the special accounts department .. what department is this place so I thought !! the lady worked there said what WEALTH MANAGEMENT SIGN?? Feels so good ... But I didn't feel so good ..so now I'm left with a account that is closing for no reason that I am told ... But I have money in my account and waiting that I need to get so that it doesn't go missing under Ralph Vincent Mendoza Furigay . .. I need help any answers thank you .I HAVE ALSO BEEN GETTING EMAILS AND AUTOMATIC PUSH NOTIFICATIONS TO GET MY ACCOUNT ACTIVATED SO I KNOW THAT ITS ACTUALLY A GOOD ACCOUNT BUT THAT NOTE IS stopping the activation of my card and the employees can't tell me anything . preventing me from using my account .. MAKING IT SO THAT IT LOOKS ABANDONED AND THAT IS JUST WRONG IF SOMEONE TAKES MY ACCOUNT . AND HAVE ME NOT KNOW .

Manager at this location does not have any solutions. Bank of the west cannot help with Customer by phone because they have a staffing issue. Don’t bother with this bank. It’s dead in the water now with labor shortage.

I've had business w them my entire life but they put your acct on hold or overcharge you when simple things go wrong. I feel they should respect customer loyalty. Was in NY one day and called to let them know I was travelling to not put a block on my CC. Customer service told me I had to go in store to verify. I told them this would be impossible because I was in the East and had no funds the rest of my trip. Created a Bank of America acct that weekend.

The branch manager Vivi is the rudest person I have ever encountered in all the years that me and my family have banked with bank of the west. When I phoned to ask if I could leave a complaint I was told there was no one higher then Vivi. It's sad when there is an abuse of authority and no checks and balance regarding the conduct of employees that work for a banking institution. Arguing, rude, and loud behavior is so unbecoming of the reputation of this banking institute

Bank of the West (BotW) is unreliable, uncaring and unwilling to help customers in need. On 4/15/2019, my wife and I went into the Northridge, CA branch of BotW where we had banked for three years. We originally opened our BotW account at Pasadena, CA when we moved to California in 2013. During this visit, we wire transferred earnest money to an escrow company in San Antonio, TX as part of our purchase of a property there. While conducting this business, we asked the BotW employee helping us how we could submit a second wire transfer for the balance due at closing when we would no longer be physically in California or near a BotW branch (none in Texas). The employee told us that since we had come in person to the branch, been verified and would be sending the wire to the same exact company and routing information, just with a different amount, that we would be able to initiate the second wire transfer via telephone. We were happy to hear this and thought nothing more about the answer. BIG mistake on our part. Fast forward to 5/13/2019. We are in a rental house in San Antonio and call BotW to initiate the second wire transfer. NOW we are told a completely different story. "Oh no. Bank POLICY requires you to be in person for a wire transfer." We were also basically called liars by the officers at the Northridge branch and the Pasadena branch because they both said, "Oh no. One of our employees would NEVER tell you that." Their suggestion: see if the escrow company would take a personal check. A FREAKING PERSONAL CHECK FOR THE BALANCE OF A HOME PURCHASE!! When my wife asked if BotW would do that, she did not get an answer. Frankly, this answer was not only ridiculous, it was insulting. Their only solution: show up at a BotW branch in person. SO - since BotW was unwilling to fix their mistake and didn't care enough to come up with a realistic solution - that's what we did. I flew from San Antonio to Oklahoma City and back in one day. I took a cab from the airport to the BotW branch in Oklahoma City, sent the wire transfer, then took a cab back to the airport and flew back to San Antonio. As a disabled person, this was VERY taxing for me, but based on our situation with the move, it was the only solution. BotW was unrealiable, uncaring and unwilling to help us in this situation that one of their employees created. They cost us a LOT of unnecessary money to fix THEIR mistake by one of THEIR employees. People need to understand thney cannot trust ANYTHING told to them verbally by ANY BotW employee because the Bank will not fix it if there is a problem and call them liars if they insist they were told otherwise. Worst of all? BotW officers kept intoning "bank policy" as if it were a Bible verse. Here's a hint: policy is not law. Exceptions can be made to "bank policy", unlike state or federal laws or regulations. Especially in a case where two people were given wrong information by a BotW employee. And you know what? Now the Northridge branch mysteriously claims that they can't identify the employee who conducted the wire transfer, even though the employee has to sign and put their information on the document. Gee, very convenient, hunh? Okay, enough ranting. Like I said, we're still recovering from traveling 1,400 miles on the move, making a day-long trip to Oklahoma City courtesy of BotW and moving into our new home. Thanks for nothing, Bank of the West!

I had such an excellent time opening a new bank account here. I went in because they had a promotion which was a $250 bonus if I deposit at least $250 for five months. That's a 20% return in five months! I walked in and asked to open and account and the teller referred me to Chris, who sat with me right then with no wait. Chris was so fun because he has an excellent sense of humor and he made this experience literally the funnest experience I've had in a bank. Usually, I feel that bankers are too serious and lack personality. But Chris was fun but also professional because he knew the answers to everything I asked. I was in and out of there with a new account in about 18 minutes. He helped me set up my online banking too. Today I went again with a friend who I referred there. My friend also was getting the $250 bonus. This promotion is over on the 26th according to a coupon I got online. Today we sat with Jeff. He was very nice and we were in and out quickly. I wish I could say more about today but my friend was in a huge hurry and kind of grumpy today so we just opened the account quickly. Everything has been great so far with this bank. The bank itself is beautiful with amazing detail. Not very busy when I've been there which I like. I'll probably go back since they have a 3% cash back credit card I'm considering.

Only because one star is as low as it gets. BEWARE!!! business owners. Tell your dealership you will not use this bank. This is only the second time I have felt the need to write a review. After trying to gain access to my equipment loan online for months, and being told it can't be done. I am supposed to believe I must either snail mail or call in payments. This of course requires you to pay the fifteen dollar fee. But wait it gets better you should set aside twenty minutes to get a "Customer Service Representative. If this is what being a valued customer is Bank Of The West doesn't have to worry. I will never make this mistake again and neither will any one that talks to me.

These guys are refusing to credit my account for fraud charges. Thank God I didn't get my account drained because BOTW could care less about you or your money. My credit union will credit funds right away while they do the investigation but not Botw. It's has been 2 weeks and supervisor Lutrell id number 685138 could care less. He advised that there is no way to credit the account until investigation is done. I advised that I am going to close my account and my wife's account as well and we will just use our credit union back home and his response was " thank you for calling Bank of the West". LOL. I bank out of the Pasadena office on Colorado and Madison and that is where I filled out the affidavit after they informed me that they had shut my card down for fraud while I was out of town for a week. Horrible customer service and horrible policy for their customers.

We loved this bank. We loved their mortgage services. Apparently this year they closed their mortgage appraisal division and moved all their appraisal services to a company called Service Link, out of Orange County. Basically, all the good appraisers left, and now it's this bottom of the barrel company that sends out the lowest bidder (literally) to appraise your home. You can guess the consequences. Never again. We are switching banks, and mortgage providers.

I love this branch, the employees, the beautiful facilities and the overall friendly vibe. I have been a client of this branch since 2005, and I have always been treated with courtesy, respect, attentiveness and efficiency. Salpie has always exceeded my expectations in those rare instances where I have needed special attention, so I don't understand the negative reviews.

Salpi one of the branch managers is very rude. I was told i needed to return to my chosen branch for signatures because i opened my account online. I went to that branch and was told no there should be no issue no signature needed. Salpi lied to me and wouldnt let me withdraw my own money while on the way to get a root canal. In a hurry i left my card in their atm machine after withdrawing less than what i needed. I spoke to someone that friday night who told me they would keep my card to be picked up monday. Salpi also destroyed my paypal card. Not a fan of this branch sad to have this be my first bank of the west experience.
