Great wine tasting place in Palo Alto. Came here with a friend who is a regular. Very nice wine guy and the selection is great at the shop. Recommend this if you are in the area and don't have to drive far. Or share a tasting with a friend. I'll have to come back to drink all the wines!

During the pandemic, I spent so much money at Wine.com and got spotty wines, hyped up with free shipping, and so often boring and lacking. I've matured. I'm done with blind purchasing. Vin Vino Wine has been on Cal Ave for decades, and I've decided this is where I'm buying my wine from now on. Why? Number one, they care. About wine, and about me. It's a classic "local relationship" thing. People who come here regularly think of it as "my local". There's a weekly tasting flight, but my preference is the other flight that changes 3x week. Short flight options. You can taste sooooo much awesome wine without having to purchase bottles that might or might not suit your taste. I've learned so much since coming to VVW. These people deserve your frequent support and visitation. On that subject, it's a really great place to hang out after a bike ride, or a crappy day at the office. Cozy tables amid racks and racks of wine. The musics is good, the bathroom is clean (highest quality paper towels ever, btw). Nearby lots of good food from places like Zareen's, Med Wraps, Izzy's, and Son of Wolf.

I don't know why I have not written a review before. VVW is the BEST shop for French wine, although it has some great wines from other countries, including the USA (mostly California). I have been a patron since they opened, at least 30 years ago in a tiny location off a nearby alley. I trust them to select wines for me; they know my taste. I'll just call and say, please select a case of (whatever), and I am rarely disappointed. The new management/ownership has injected a new vitality, trying to appeal to a younger crowd. (their "regulars" were getting older, like me) and I think they have done a good job. Please patronize. It is tough to survive when you pay Palo Alto rents and compete against BevMo and Safeway not far away

Great wine store with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We went for the wine tasting and bought some of the wines we tasted. First time there, but we'll be back.

Vin Vino is a wonderful spot on Cal Ave. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. They do wine tasting every day with a fixed flight for the week + a themed flight that rotates every two days. Very generous pours. You can also get single tastings from any of the flight.

Amazing service. We were randomly in the area and decided to explore. We placed an order at a local food shop and decided to pop in for a quick glass of wine while we wait for our order. The person helping us was so kind to break down all the options. We grabbed a seat outside to people watch and they let us know we could bring our food over to eat in their space, so we did! The wines were delicious. Wish we could've tried more, will def be back!!

Their rotating flights of high end wines are an amazing opportunity to sample the best at very reasonable prices, along with their weekly flight of interesting, more affordable wines.

I really love this store. Two things stand out for me -- the helpful attitude and extensive knowledge of the owner/staff; and the excellent selection of wines on offer. I've come for many of their flights and it's really helped to expand my palate and develop my tastes. It's also my go-to spot when I need a bottle of wine that I can count on being excellent.

Great wine shop on California Ave., open for tastings as well as to purchase rare and unique finds. This shop has curated a wonderfully crafted inventory of local, Californian, European, and others wines around the globe. Their tasting menu changes weekly, and offers a way to try wines you may otherwise be unable to. Short flights, full flights, and glasses available! Support local, and shop for your holiday wines here!

This is a terrific wine shop and bar! Ameena and Dennis are always warm and welcoming and it is such a pleasure to chat with them about wines. Vin Vino Wine's tastings are terrific - they have a daily tasting comprising of a varietal of whites/reds/sparkling, in addition to special themed tastings 2-3 times a week. You'll never be bored. Ever want to try a range of Chateauneuf du Papes? White burgundies? Spanish reds? This is the place! To top it off, if you can't stay for the entire tasting (some flights have 8+ options!), Vin Vino Wine can also package the tastings to go in tiny individual mason jars. What more can you ask for? Special note for Bar Zola fans - Guilliaume is a part owner of this wine shop.

My review has been removed twice now? I find this incredibly odd. In short, about a month or two ago, I passed by this shop with my partner, and we were thinking about going in after getting a bagel at a nearby store. It was a Wednesday afternoon, 1pm, and quiet. We sat at a small table outside the store, and despite there being no customers visible inside, and there being 2 other open tables outside, the cashier hurries up to our table and tells us we are not allowed to eat there since we are not paying customers and to leave. I found this quite rude and hostile. If the store was busy, or we noticed wine being sampled at an outdoor table, we would have continued walking to find somewhere else. Also, we only had bagels, which only took about 10 minutes or less to eat. I was thinking about shopping, but due to the treatment I got that I felt was unnecessary and completely undeserved, and having my negative review removed twice (despite no foul language), I would discourage people from going to this store. It feels like they only care about a certain clientele and money.
