Been here a few times and have never had any issues using their services. The staff have always been helpful and respectful, even though sometimes they seem like they don't want to people. I totally understand because I don't like peopling a lot. They have always provided me with solidly reliable mailing services. The architecture looks like it's the original building for whatever it used to be. Parking can be difficult because they are downtown with limited street parking. They do have the 30-minute limited parking in the front, which I've lucked out on being available a couple times.

they have no idea what they are doing. the staff gave us an extremely hard time on mailing letters and they are not familiar with the product they carry. The stuff refused to explain the charge and didn't follow the rules usps stated on their own website. She refused to serve us after we made a reasonable argument about her charge.

This location has given me a hard time about a number of things, last year it was about a Brand New tablet I had returned there that nobody could find, then….. paying for an additional P O Box because they could not let me have access to my old one unless I had I’d verification . Have had the same P.O. Box now for nearly a decade and had to do a lot of extra foot work, calling customer service to get a refund on the extra box I had to purchase to make sure my mail for my business, would not be rerouted. NOW I am outside the post office reading my mail and I notice how on Rulli the front grass and landscape is here at this location. I don’t know if it is the cities job to come by and maintain it or the post office itself, but it really takes away the beauty of the city of Palo Alto you very seldom see underground yard, salons or businesses in this vicinity, but this post office is wreaking neglect in the front so I can just imagine what goes on inside.

I shipped a few packages express delivery which weren't delivered on time. Since they say their shipments are guaranteed, I went to the post office for a refund, and was told that they had no money to refund me, they had no money order, and they couldn't refund my credit card. They said I needed to find another post office that has money to refund me. It is ridiculous that they have a money-back guarantee, but then literally cannot give a refund to a customer. The woman who was behind the counter just didn't want to help in a way, and it was horrible customer service.

They always throw packages around after receiving them. I’m sure that causes tens of thousands dollars worth of damage every year!

So lets face it, going to the post office is up there with say a root canal. However, this particular post office at least has some interesting architecture to make up for any wait. The downtown Palo Alto post office was built during the Great Depression. The postal service in that time frame would seek out local architects. In this case Palo Alto native Birge Clark was used who also designed many of the well loved and prominent (still to this day) building in the city. The white stucco building is in the Mediterainian Style with a Spanish style curved shingle roof. The interior is also quite nice with soaring ceilings and the old school P.O. boxes lining the walls. Beyond that it is a fully functional post office and like with most, sometimes its a breeze other times a nightmare depending on how many clerks are manning the front and how poorly prepared the people in line in front of you are.

This has to be one of the worse USPS places ever, The post master & several of the Karen's should have been terminated a long time ago, the public employees think they are kings & queens

The postal workers at this office are clearly overwhelmed during peak hours. The USPS upper management has mangled this once highly respectable governmental service. The remaining employees there are trying to cover the workload of two people each, treated poorly on a daily basis by numbskulls, and aren’t even paid enough to live nearby! In spite of all that, they always treat me with respect even when I mess up customs forms, use the wrong postage, or mislabel something.Plus, the architecture is pretty cool. The building still stands as a reminder of what Americans once prioritized.

They only have forever stamps...Needed to send some postcards, they were sold out of postcard stamps. Asked for the 1, 2, 3, or 5 cent stamps that they sell online. Nope. Rep told me I could try other post offices. How does the post office not sell all the stamps needed to send things with their pricing structure?

This is ridiculous, they have no clue what they are doing. We paid $70 to send a document to Europe (EU) with express priority. On their site they mention an ETA of 1-3 business days, at the office they said 3-5 business days and in reality 6 business days later their tracking shows that the document is stuck in L.A.. And no one seems to be able to tell us why 6 days later it hasn't even started its journey to Europe yet. As a result I resent the document via FedEx. For just an extra $20, it arrived in 1 business day, making me realize that I threw $70 in the bin with USPS. If only I knew.

Came here on a Friday late afternoon and was impressed by the architecture. It has a grand feel when you step inside with high ceilings and narrow hall. There were two workers manning the desk and since one customer was taking way too long, another person stepped in which helped the line move. My only qualm is that there is no parking so you have to park on the street. Other than that. Service was decent, nothing warm nor cold from other locations.
