Really bad customer service.Went in for an emergency and couldn’t figure out who to talk to. The only person I found was an old grumpy man who was very disrespectful and told me I needed to go to my mechanic. I was miles away from it and needed just to check a code and make sure it was safe to drive.Never bringing my VW there again even if its the only option

My wifes VW was running funny and her check engine light came on... Being so far from home and her mechanic she was stressed and in tears, and then saw this place and decided to pull in for help. She politely asked if they could use their OBD to read the codes for her and tell her if the car is safe to drive. The man behind the counter was super rude to her and told her he would "not just drop everything to help" her and that she didn't need any codes. She went to someone else at a different shop and was helped immediately and politely.

I Don't care if you are the best mechanic in town, I think is important to learn to be polite to people even if they don't represent business to you. Maybe you are so good you don't need new customers but unfortunately cars brake when you don't expect and people will show up without an appointment. I went to you because I have a german car and I thought you might help me in a difficult moment. The entrance of the shop is confusing and after I drove in an no one came to see why I was there I went to talk to the only person I saw. He was sitting in the office. He was eating but he said "go on" after I explained I was suddenly having issues with my car and last time this exact thing happened my car died, I was afraid to keep driving all the way to san Jose. I asked if he could help me by scanning the code, he said he would not do it, and he would not drop off everything to help me. He said I should take my car to my mechanic, which is in San Jose. I said all I need to know if its safe to drive it like that .. he said I was asking too many questions I am glad this guy is not a doctor. He would let you die on the street if you had a heart attack and you are not his patient, thats what he did to me today.I left the place in tearsLuckily the shop across the street helped me. I will never give business to you or recommend you.

Harold is a great guy, but that's secondary when it come to servicing German cars! He's honest and fast. He explains everything in detail. Highly recommend!

I walked to the business before 4PM on a Friday. The place was deserted. I tried to understand why but I did not see any messages on the door in the front or the back. I checked the front door to make sure I arrived during business hours but some hours are scratched off so it's impossible to understand if I came too late or on the wrong day. I checked on Yelp and I saw the business marked as open until 5:30PM and it was 4:30PM. I called shortly after and nobody picked up. I walked to the business again on a Thursday morning and it was open. I entered the front and I spoke to a man with an AAMCO hat. I was trying to explain the problem I had with my car, something that has not been resolved in years. I told him half of my story to see if I was dealing with a mechanic that is willing to listen and find a solution to the problem. He did not let me finish telling him what I have done at at least half a dozen mechanics over the years, told me what was done did not make any sense and literally said it was a waste of time. I tried to finish telling him what I have tried but he went on to say his inspection costs $165 up to an hour, then went back saying that it was a waste of time. That's when I told him that I was wasting my time. Aside from not actively listening he does not get the information and repeatedly stands on his position that every other mechanic is basically an idiot. He did not listen carefully, he did show the will to come to a neutral place for discussion and I even found out the guy was a total p***** 3 strikes in baseball amount to a strike-out. I'm glad I found out early the douche has a lousy attitude so I don't waste time and money. This place does not even have convenient hours for somebody who needs to drive his or her car regularly. I spoke to a neighbor and he told me he knows him. He classified the guy as an a****** and then commented "I think he hates himself".

The ESP and EPC warning lights of my Beetle come on. I have no idea about cars. The VW dealer shop is in San Jose and I felt uncomfortable to drive on highway with the warning lights on. I called Harald on Monday morning and made an appointment at 10AM Wednesday. Harald was sooo patient and helpful. The diagnostic and repair were finished at 4PM. They are professional and the price is very reasonable! Support local business! :)

As a first timer looking to get my car serviced in the Bay Area, I was really glad to find this place. Harold is extremely kind and thorough. He patiently explained all that I need to know about my car and was not pushy at all about fixing any parts. I appreciate his transparency and will definitely recommend to my friends and family members of this place. Not to mention the price is very fair.

I've brought cars here since Harald's father was running the company and I've always been happy with their service. For many years I worked on my own cars and have done everything from oil changes to engine rebuilds, and I am entirely happy with the work they have done for me. They are honest, technically competent, and reasonably priced. Not sure what more anyone needs.

This was our first independent road trip when our VW van broke down 900 miles from home. Stressed out we called around to local vw shops in the Palo Alto area. Harold at Palo Alto German Car Corp had a two week waiting list but squeezed us in and identified the problem with our coolant system. Even during this pandemic, Harold and his team put us at ease with their in depth knowledge on our vehicle and 100% honesty and transparency about the situation. We ended up staying the night in the Creekside Inn (walkable distance from the shop and would highly recommend as well) and were back on the road in the morning. These people are absolute angels-couldn’t have asked for better service!!

They have a small shop so if they cannot profit of you they won't set an appointment for you.

Harold and his staff are truly experts in all German cars. Three generations of my family have been going here. They don’t push any services or maintenances unless absolutely needed. I recommend to everyone!

I've serviced my 2002 BMW X5 several times now and found the service to be prompt, high quality and at reasonable prices. Harald is particularly honest about what needs to be done and what can be deferred unlike several other shops I've used.
