The good: Mollie Stones has a very broad selection of items, including a lot of specialty items. If you're looking to stumble on a new treasure or looking for something hard to find, they are a good bet. The not as good: the flip side of their wide selection is that Mollie Stones does not always refresh their inventory - more than ones, I'll buy a box of something and after I get to my car I see the best by date was three months ago. Their prices are also high for the area - even compared to Whole Foods, Sigonas, Roberts, and other specialty stores.

Mollie Stones offers a similar high-quality shopping experience to Whole Foods, minus the pretentiousness. If you're on a tight budget, it may not be the best choice, but if you're in search of top-notch meats, fresh produce, an extensive wine and liquor selection, and exceptional customer service, then Mollie Stones is your go-to destination.

Excellent quality, not crowded, and generally well maintained with good customer service. It's expensive, of course, but is par for the course for the location.

I came here again today. I was going to get something today from the hot bar but the hot bar was not available on the weekend.I instead got a california roll which was very tasty.I also got a tub of their potato salad and a diet pepsi. I took it to go. Everything was tasty. I like the deli section . A wonderful store

Mollie Stone's is a very special supermarket. It is a community-oriented, cozy, personable supermarket, where enthusiasm for making people feel good is the store's mission. There were rows upon rows and stacks upon stacks of fresh local organic produce (you name it, they have it), as well as an impressive array of meats, seafoods, dairy, dried goods, etc. There's a whole section for international "world foods" and also for Kosher foods. There are plenty of baked goods and an extensive hot food and soup bar and prepared food, etc. You can even fill up your own bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice (there's a machine that lets you witness oranges turn into juice before your very eyes) - I bought a bottle, it was super refreshing! It has literally everything - all the usual things a grocery store would have. It also sells its own brand of certain products, such as Mollie Stone's own brand of jams (e.g black raspberry, strawberry, peace), preserved fruits (e.g. Bartlett pears, peach halves), and pickles (e.g. beets, cucumbers). They also have a large selection of beautiful, cute, and/or useful non-food items, including but not limited to: fancy soaps, tote bags, aprons (and for kids), kitchen appliances / towels / utensils / oven mitts, plates/pitchers/bowls, lunch boxes for kids, mugs, candles. It also sells items from other well-loved brands and stores, like cards from Papyrus, Hydroflasks, Peet's Coffee, Urban Remedy, Pressed Juicery, etc. Mollie Stone's is also huge. When I walked in, I had only walked through half of the store and was already thoroughly impressed with the variety of things they offered - just when I thought I had walked through the entire store, I looked further down and there was an entire other half of the store that I hadn't even entered! Another way it stands out from other supermarkets is its community feel - it felt cozier than most grocery stores. There was even a kid-friendly "show" by a "Mr. Goodchoice" who would sing classic songs like "Old McDonald had a farm" and advocate values like recycling and avoiding drugs and alcohol. Overall, Mollie Stone's is an an extraordinary supermarket with a cozy community feel - I would definitely recommend visiting and buying goods here!!!

When no one else has it, try this wonderful grocery store. It has a bit of an attitude -- it caters to discriminating tastes, especially when it comes to healthy versions of what's available (sometimes to the exclusion of common fare). There are lots of warnings posted about the ill effects of certain ingredients, certainly something to consider, especially in the candy aisle. It reminds me of the health food stores of the 1970s, but a more sophisticated version.

My 1st & last visit to Mollie Stone's. Their prices were exorbitant & the service non existent. Their prices are 2X Trader Joe's & 1.5X Whole Foods. E.g. $17.99 for 1/4 an almond ring! $24.99 for a smallish gallet! Good grief

Absurdly expensive. So no one shops there. So the food is old and stale, esp the prepared food. Guessing they abandon the store when the lease runs out

Thank you to the manager at California Street Molly Stones who returned envelope with my mother's death certificates, which were in an unmarked postal envelope. He went above and beyond to hand deliver to my condo complex on his own time. This gentleman with a white beard came to gated door and asked a neighbor to find me because he did not have a phone number, just a unit number. I sincerely appreciate his kindness . Diane

Very good quality but frequently under-staffed and very pricey. Orange-juice machine brilliant, but not entirely reliable. Got snarled at once over replenishing it. Great location and ample parking. Very clean and neat. Fair wine selection and above average deli.March 2023 update: Lot's more help visible. Courteous and obliging. Perhaps just my impression, but the drinks section is better stocked if not expanded.
