“I was visiting from out-of-state and needed an urgent blood draw. I asked my doctor to send the lab order to this clinic since it was the closest one, but I realized on arrival that they do appointments only. The nurse however was quite helpful and accommodated me. Saved me a lot of rescheduling time!”

“At first, wasn’t sure what to expect, as you cannot schedule an appointment. It’s wall in only. To my surprise, their process was really organized and fast!! The NICEST people working there!! Overall, a very nice experience!!”

“Easiest lab visit I’ve ever had. When I walked in the line seemed a little long but I was in and out in 10 minutes. The blood draw room is like an assembly line and they bring you in a few people at a time.”

“Check in was really easy at the kiosk, and they took me in immediately (I had an appointment). The folks there were really nice, and took me seriously when I told them I tend to pass out. They let me wait for a specific room with a lay flat option to draw blood to become available. The did seem short staffed (it seemed only two people were working, one checking people into their rooms and getting their paperwork/vials ready and the Phlebotomist. My phlebotomist was awesome! She was kind and patient, checked in during the draw to make sure I was okay, and encouraged me to take it slow after and brought me a water. Definitely will come back here for future blood work, this was one of the best experiences I've had getting blood drawn.”

“I had the best experience here and if you have tiny veins, dread getting blood work because of multiple jabs, ask for Katie, she took time to look for my tiny veins, made me feel safe and took 1 shot and it was done, no pain for me. I felt cared for. She's absolutely great, very professional and kind. I wouldn't go to anyone else from now on. You'll thank me later!”

“My 87 year-old father-in-law fell and sustained a large laceration on his hand. He lives next door to Mills Peninsula Hospital but has had a few negative experiences there and asked for me to take him somewhere else. We went to Sequoia emergency room in Redwood City. He was registered in very promptly and then taken immediately into a private room. Nurse Susan assessed him thoroughly and was very friendly and reassuring. Dr. Marks arrived in just a few minutes and explained what was going to happen next and what type of repairs he was planning. The area was promptly prepared for and surgery and Dr. Marks was able to numb up his injuries with minimal discomfort and ultimately my father-in-law had complete pain relief. The surgery was completed in about 20 minutes and Dr. Marks gave extensive instructions as to wound care and what to expect in the next few weeks. Nurse Lori applied a very nice dressing and gave us copies of all the discharge instructions. We were in and out of there in less than one hour with absolutely wonderful care. My father-in-law felt that this was the best hospital experience he had ever had in his life and was very impressed with the entire staff. Thankyou. What a pressure.”

“I had my blood drawn here today and it was painless! I've had bad experiences at other places getting stuck multiple times and developing ugly bruising. This is the 2nd time I've gone here and it's been pleasant both times (she got the right spot in one try; quick and painless; I'm so thankful). I'll be back for future blood tests.”

“Take my baby boy for his hypothyroidism blood draws monthly. They are so kind, supportive and caring! My mamma heart always hurts when he cries and they are so sweet about it. Also they manage to get a draw very quickly, which is hard with a small baby. Definitely recommend.”

“Located at the back of Safeway. Always, book an appointment. Teresa drew my blood and was very kind, thorough, and patient with me... even when my doctor did not have the orders properly submitted. This location was great and I would go back here next time. Thanks T!”

“After two unsuccessful blood draws at other locations, Margie was incredible, getting the vein on the first time and quickly and efficiently filling the vials.

If you struggle with blood draws, this location has a bed / lie down option. And a Margie!”

“I was hesitant to book an appointment here seeing all of these bad reviews - but visited today for a blood test for my dad and the process was super smooth. We were in and out in 10 mins after having scheduled an appointment online. The staff were great too.”

“I came here for fingerprinting only. Made an appointment for 2:00, at 1:30 (they had availability quickly at this time of day). I was a little worried based on some reviews and the outside of the building made it look closed. But I walked in and was greeted by a lovely woman who went over the top to take care of my needs and work with the employer to take care of billing for the fingerprinting. It was quick, easy, and reliable. Highly recommend for fingerprinting!”

“I was a little hesitant to go to this place because of all the unfavorable reviews. I didn't have an appointment but got there a little after they opened at 7:00 am. I was the first person there. The front desk person was also the one who drew the blood. She was very professional in taking in all the information and made sure she had all the paperwork before calling me in to draw my blood. She explained what she was going to do and only poked once and did not hurt at all. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I will definitely go back again.”

“This review is strictly for NuGEN's 8-week summer internship program for college students to explore a career in biotech. Pros: - Work individually and with others on projects within your department - Interact with employees throughout the company - Lunch 'n Learn sessions provide once-weekly brief lecture/panel style presentations on each facet of the company; lunch is provided - Paid above minimum wage - Half-time hours, so the days are short; if you really need or want the money, you could quite likely fit an afternoon job to get an extra four hours' wage every day - Freedom to request exploration in areas outside your assigned department: despite being an Operations intern, my supervisor(s) coordinated to get me in a lab on my last week to be trained on running PCR and bioanalyzing the resulting DNA samples - Occasional company-wide BBQ lunches, occasional department-wide lunches, and donuts or pastries most Thursday mornings - Knowledgable superiors with varied backgrounds and of varied ages so you can see how people in their 20's and beyond are getting into the biotech industry - Helpful superiors with a willingness to teach - Get a true hands-on understanding on what kinds of things go on in your assigned department from the ground up Cons: - Supervisors tend to be directors, making them understandably quite busy throughout most days which can leave interns with an awkward lull from time to time when projects and assignments get completed - Day-to-day tasks can occasionally be mundane; in an overall week, I would likely get to work in multiple areas, but many full 4-hour stretches were spent unstapling and scanning documents. It's not hard work, but sometimes it's a little underwhelming if you find yourself having to trudge through a stack of papers that might take a few consecutive days of repetitive work Overall an excellent experience. It is clear they put effort into organizing the internship program so as to maximize what students get out of it. Despite some day-to-day tasks being repetitive and mundane, the experience taken as a whole was great because I had the opportunity to hands-on get a taste for everything that happens in Operations, from QA/QC to production and manufacturing, document control, facilities management, shipping and receiving, and more. I would highly recommend the program for students with an interest or aptitude in biotechnology and genomics.”
