If I could give less than one star, I would.Hello, I just went for a service appointment yesterday.First, nobody let me know that the car needed cabin filter, air filter, and windshield wipes replaced. It should be done before a pick up time. I had to find out when I picked the car and wait to have it fixed. When I got the car and was already halfway home I saw a plastic part on the passenger side floor. I texted the number provided by service advisor and got no response. They forgot to put some part of my car back in place. Will be going to a different dealership.

This review is specifically for their Parts department. I have never used their repairs services or spoken with their sales staff. Val runs a great Parts team. They're all extremely friendly and are very familiar with their vehicles. I had a mixup with some of my orders but Val helped to take care of it without hesitation or frustration even though it was partially my fault. He just had a smile and said let's take care of this. There are other local Toyota locations that were less friendly and were somewhat condescending (maybe because I'm a girl) but Magnussen Toyota will always be my go-to as long as Val and his team are there.

Been looking for a Sienna like everyone else, and of all the dealerships, had the worst experience here. First of all, initial markup was 12-15k over MSRP… literally ridiculous. Highest I saw in the entire Bay Area by far. They have no idea that most dealers are either starting to sell at MSRP or at most a very modest markup (which I still find absurd). When I politely declined their “generous” offer of only a 6k markup, the saleswoman I spoke with basically berated me for missing out on the deal of the century, tried to scare me with other waitlist times, told me if I didn’t agree to the deal she gave me I’d never get a car, and told me that my trade in Subaru would depreciate by 90% in the next 3 months. Literally the worst most ineffective scare tactics and the most unpleasant conversation. I reached out a few times to different folks as this is our neighborhood dealer and I initially wanted to give them our business, but to no avail, though at least the other salespeople were nice. Thankfully, their neighbors at Toyota Sunnyvale are amazing - reserved our dream Sienna for MSRP with a wait time of only 2 months - coming in November and we can’t wait. Extremely kind people who went the extra mile. And just fyi, this wasn’t the only Sienna we were offered at MSRP - there were at least 3 others, just in a fancier trim than we wanted. Palo Alto really needs to adjust its prices and approach to customer service.

I'm in the market for a Rav4 Prime so I started making calls. The first place I reached out was Magnussen Toyota When I spoke to the sales person, he tells me that there's a 15,000 dollar mark up on the Rav4 Prime. I asked why when there are an abundance of vehicles in the bay area. He said I don't make the prices, I just sell the cars. People, with high interest rates and ANY dealership that has a market adjustment is not worth earning your business. Toyota is NOT one of the three big USA automakers that is striking yet they want to jump on the band wagon and start upping the prices for these vehicles. Believe it or not, Livermore Toyota and Autonation Hayward, are the ONLY two in the entire bay area not charging a mark-up on their vehicles. Buyer beware

Sadaf was the best! She was friendly, straightforward and helped me with any questions I had throughout the process. So glad that I purchased the car at Magnussen's and highly recommend asking for her if you go to the dealership!!

I brought my car in on Tuesday because the front light was out. I requested that replaced and an oil change. I dropped off my car at 8:30 am and picked it up around 5pm. The next day we noticed the light wasn't replaced. I again brought it in. They said it will take 2 hrs to get that replaced. This is a night mare. I hope they can at least prioritize the work. It is the lack of service they supposed to be done on Tuesday. They didn't say sorry or anything.

This review is specifically for Sadaf. Her customer service is excellent. Even after purchasing my car she has helped me with any questions or issues I've had. She definitely goes above and beyond! I highly recommend asking for her if you go to the dealership to buy a car!

Bought a certified used 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE on line advertised on Edmunds. I was recovering from major surgery and was trusting Magussen’s Toyota to be an honest dealership. That was not the case. Since I was on medication I failed to see the damage on the right front fender that was on the Certified Used auto. They had touched it up with some paint to hide the damages. I didn’t drive the auto until I recovered from surgery in June. When I went to wash the vehicle I saw the front fender damage. That this dealership would deliver a vehicle to an 80 year old person who was trusting to not even think twice that they were doing something dishonest, unethical & underhanded is abominable.Stay far away from this dealership

I dropped off my Toyota Tacoma today for service. After sitting in my car for nearly 10 minutes, I went in to get assistance from one of the service providers. All of them were chatting with each other or texting on their cell phones (not assisting customers). When I asked one for assistance, he rudely told me to wait in my truck. I went back and waited again for several minutes. After waiting again several minutes, I honked and no one came out. I went back in and the same service advisor was there doing paperwork. He rudely told me he was busy. I then asked for the manager, John Hausler. When I called Mr. Hausler to report my complaint, he apologized and told me he would follow up regarding the complaint. When I asked how we can improve this situation and how I can follow up to ensure customers are treated properly, he told me I can call but basically there is nothing that can be done besides reprimanding the employee. Clearly having an environment where service advisors can casually work without serving customers is not appropriate and speaks to the climate this business has created. Additionally, not having a follow up plan by a manager on customer complaints again speaks to the culture here and the lack of responsibility given to customers like myself who recently purchased a brand new Tacoma. I would discourage future business or service from this dealership. I have noted other dealerships in the area to be more prompt and caring when speaking to customers. I thought to try this one as it was closer to work. Finally, it is a 4+ hour wait for 10,000 mile service. You will likely get quicker and more friendly service at another dealership.

Had an amazing experience with my Girlfriend over at magnussen’s. Thanks to Angel rincon for being so friendly and listening to our inquires the whole process, and to raj as well for being professional and helping us the whole process with purchase!! Able to have my girlfriend get her dream car, and done with upmost service! An excellent time and experience here at magnussen’s. Also big help for Jose at financial in helping with the contract and laying out all the terms! So happy for my girlfriends purchase

Lack of Communication and Transparency. I was in the process of trying to purchase a vehicle with Dich Tran. I was honest with him and told him I had another vehicle offer, he said that if I didn't know their dealership can quote around the same OR offer a better discount, he told me he promised me he would get me something better. Dich told me he would email me and he never did, he claimed that his "email system" didn't allow him to. I also called his work cellular number to ask for an update if he was able to get me a better offer than the other dealership, he never communicated back to me. This is very unprofessional the lack of communication from their end, even if they weren't able to get me a better offer I would have liked to have been communicated that, do better.

Sadaf and Raj are the absolute Heros! Thank you so much for everything you have done for us! We love that this place feels welcoming, it feels like home! We love buying our cars from here because, it feels right! We are absolute grateful that Magnussen's Toyota goes above and beyond!!

I went in to get my car serviced through a third party. I called the dealership and I was told not once but twice that I was able to take my car on and they can work with my third party to get my car serviced. I drove through traffic hour just to get there and the guy at the service department told me that they don’t work with third parties because they “take a long time to pay us back”. I told the guy that the dealership said yes, they can help me and now he’s saying he doesn’t. Didn’t even bother to check the third party or anything just assumed that my third party wasn’t going to pay. It was a complete waste of my time and I was running out of time due to the 7 day satisfaction guarantee and they were no help. I went to the Toyota in Sunnyvale and they helped me out no problem and fast AND the staff at the Sunnyvale location were way friendlier.

If you are a woman like me who HATES dealing with degrading car salesmen, I super highly recommend Jose. Even though I did not end up buying a car, Jose is the only car salesman who made me feel heard and validated. He never once told me "you are a tough negotiator" or "wow, you did your homework". He treated me like everyone else unlike all the other Toyota dealerships I had been, especially Milpitas was the WORST. He not only listened to my requests, but also would not question any of my choices. He was always polite and kept me in loop for the car that I asked for. I would have purchased the car through Jose right away if there wasn't the ridiculous market adjustment we have these days, but that's not on Jose at all. I knew he did everything he could. He was even understanding after we changed our minds. If an opportunity comes up again, I will definitely follow where Jose is no matter what.
