The boutique, owned by the wonderfully kind and attentive Chandan, is more than just a store; it's a place where fashion and artistry come to life.Chandan, the heart and soul of the boutique, personally designs each dress with a level of craftsmanship that is truly rare in today's world. Her expertise shines through in the exquisite handmade embroidery and the use of natural materials like cotton and silk. In a panic to find a dress for my son's wedding, I was recommended to Melange, a wonderful store run by Chandan designs all the clothes herself and they are of a very high quality, as you would expect from somebody who learned her craft at Central Saint Martins, the world-renowned arts and design college in London.
You can buy off the rack from an ever-changing range of seasonal designs; or she will custom design a unique creation to your exact specifications, with beautiful hand crafting that will fit you perfectly--truly, it's beautiful.
Whether you're looking for casual elegance or that special occasion dress with wow factor, I think you'll be happy with Melange! I'm so glad I found the store!
BTW: As of Oct '23, the powers that be at Stanford Shopping Center have moved Melange to a new location, so your map location may be out of date. The easiest way to find them is is to park close to Backcountry, walk directly through the store and out the back door. You'll now be in a short ally, and just on the right you'll see Melange.

MÉLANGE has been a truly incredible experience! I’ve found I don’t fit a majority of department store clothes nor do they fit my taste. Chandan has a wonderful eye for style and fit. I’ve gotten 3 dresses from here and when wearing them out I felt perfectly comfortable the entire night. If I could give MÉLANGE a higher rating I would, Chandan has given me a perfectly custom experience.

This is my favorite clothing shop ever! The designs are amazing and the prices are really affordable for the quality of their craftsmanship. It’s really cool that custom dresses are made to fit you too, and for a very small fee. Every time I come in I feel like I’m in a candy shop. I can’t get enough of the dresses here. I think I own at least eight pieces so far and I just discovered this a couple months ago. It’s hard not to buy anything whenever I step into the shop. Can’t step raving about it! 10 stars

I went into the store to ask a simple question. My question was if the clothing in the store was from Italy. The lady I was talking to then rudely told me she was the owner of the store and of course she would know where the clothes were from. She was extremely rude and condescending for no reason. This is not customer service and she was having a bad day and decided to take it out on the next customer which is extremely un professional. I hope somebody gives that lady a hug because she needs it.
