I really enjoyed my experience at Kims Salon (now at 174 University ave). I got my gel nails removed and she and Tammy took time and care doing it. Will be back! The salon is also lovely, with nice wood finishes and is very clean.

I received an in home gel manicure from Tammy. She was efficient, diligent and very sanitary. I could tell the tools she used were very clean (one of my fears with other salons). One thing that stood out about Tammy was her attention to detail and the way she cared about the integrity of my nails. In the past I would get gel nails from other salons and realized their technique was rushed which usually left my nails damaged. Tammy knows what she is doing and will provide you with excellent nail care and service. I definitely recommend!

Tammy came to my home to do my manicure. She was well prepared and had brought a wide color selection of both regular and gel polishes to choose from. Very meticulous in caring for my nails and took the time to make sure my nails were perfect before polish application yet still was very efficient and fast.

Went to this nail salon in a pinch to get my friend and I’s acrylic fill set done. We had an appointment at 3:30p and wasn’t see until much closer to 4pm. With that being said, after we picked out colors and found out that on top of the $50 for a full set, it’s $5 for a gel color that was never even dried with a UV light. After we sat down to start what we thought would be a relaxing experience, she about files my friends and is nails off with how hard and FAST she was going. She then proceeded to ask about our nails length and when we showed her that we wanted coffin shaped nails that are a little longer than “short” and she immediately stated that it would be $15 up charge to cut less of the fake nail off. So if you’re keeping track, we’re at a total of $70 for each of us. I was about to walk out after I saw what was next... she then put the acrylic powder on our nails in 4 different uneven sections that made my nails looks worse than when I started. All together, I will have to say that this is THE worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon. We had such high hopes with it being in THE MIDDLE OF DOWNTOWN PALO ALTO, but I guess not. Save your money and go to San Jose for your nails. Not worth it. While she was nice, it doesn’t make up for quality

$35 not including tip for a GEL manicure and this is what I get after ALMOST a week?? So disappointed. Won't be returning.

Do not bother with your time or money here! Had a mani once, ended up with a bleeding cuticle which luckily didn't get infected (thanks, Neosporin). No apologies or anything from the staff, I just paid and ran away.

Kim's nail care does a decent job of cleaning and enhancing your nails but could be better in terms of the nail painting. The pedicure chairs are comfortable and relaxing, and the rate for manicure and pedicure is cheaper than most of places around here, however I feel like they could be more precise in terms of the finishing product. On multiple occasions I've noticed that the nail polish chips of far faster than it should. If you are in a. Fix and need to get your nails done quickly, it's totally fine to come here but I wouldn't come for a super important occasion.

I just needed a manicure and went in without an appointment. I waited for about 15 mins and the lady started working on it. I walked out in an hour's time and everything is perfect! Price is reasonable. If I am in this area again, I will definitely visit them!

Sadly after years, I will not return. A special treat of pedicures for my daughter, she developed infected toe nails on both feet. Several trips to urgent care, antibiotics and follow up appointments. She is fine. My nails were destroyed when I had a gel manicure. Never again. Two bad experiences seem not to be random.

I got Gel French tip manicure. The woman who did it did an OK job but not worth the cost. If you have to go here for some reason make sure to get the price before, she decided to change the price as I was walking out the door for some reason.

Being that I'm visiting the area, I called ahead of time to see if they removed dip powder and that I would be stopping by soon to get it done. Get an Uber all the way here...just for the lady who does it to not be in that day, at all. Why was that not mentioned over the phone?

I wish I could put a photo of my nails. I gladly spent $60 expecting my nails to look great for my niece's wedding. Within 24 hours, three of the nails had broken off, despite that I was only attending social gatherings ( nothing hard on nails). Very disappointed.

Overpriced and poor service. Only worth going to in a pinch. It felt dirty to pay $65 for a basic manicure/pedicure that took too long by an inexperienced “technician.†Given the competition, I'm surprised this place is still open.
