Several weeks ago,I had a very positive experience when shopping at the Palo Alto location. I had a very large return, and the manager Daisy, was very pleasant and efficient. I will share my experiences with others, and encourage them to visit this store.

J Jill - Palo AltoEvery time I shop at this store the customer service is awful. I’ve had this experience multiple times so I think it’s time to stop shopping here.

I love their clothes - I shop online and return what doesn't work out here. There is one sales lady who is quite rude. The one who helped me today - don't know her name but she was blonde- was quite nice. They do not go out of their way to help you - do they not work on commission? Idk. But I really like the clothes so I keep going back.

I am writing a review for catalog purchases and the general quality of the merchandise. I don't know what happened to the quality, but it's really gone downhill. Fabric is terrible, difficult to find anything that is not synthetic and the sizing is certainly not standard. There is no store near me, so I am forced to order online. Unfortunately, this means it cost me almost $20 in shipping for them to send it to me and me to almost always mail it all back. And, it goes back because it doesn't fit or the quality is so poor. I am tired of paying $20 just to try things on and them take them to send back. Done with Jjill. You should be too.

It was not a good experience. I went all the way over to the J.Jill at Stanford mall today because my friend got a really cute top there. I was surprised by the responses from the clerks. The one lady was walking around--not really offering help and it was hard to tell if she actually worked there. At one point she pushed past me and said "Excuse me!" in a rude manner. When I finally realized she worked there, I asked about the item I was looking for. Before I finished my sentence, her default answer "No" She would not wait for me to finish the question. She did this 3- separate times. When trying on clothes, she would often be talking from a distance--I wasn't sure if she was directing her questions to me because she was farther away and it was hard to understand her. She frequently kept coming back when I was trying on the clothes and ask if I was done yet. At one point, I forgot to put on my mask, and I came out of the changing room for a moment to ask the clerk if she could locate another size in the shirt I was wearing when the other clerk behind the counter abruptly said, "Mam! You really need to mask up when you're out here on the floor." I apologized--I forgot and started walking back to get it when it occurred to me that she said it in a really abrupt and rude manner--I get wearing the mask and all. I was trying on clothes and literally forgot to put it on. But did she have to be so rude? So I came back out on the floor and asked her if this works better for her. She then started staring me down in a very hostile manner. I told her that I would not be buying anything from this store and took my business elsewhere. I think J.Jill should really think about getting sales people in there who are more professional and responsive to consumers. I will never go back to that store again!

This is such an awful place to shop. The sales people seem to resent you even stopped in they NEVER will bring clothes to you and take out old ones they do nothing but ring you up - and , even that, without courtesy or a smile they must be very unhappy!

Me and my girlfriend were approached by an employee, possibly manager, when browsing the collection noonish on sunday Nov 8th. We were asked if we needed help finding anything and she kindly directed us to the section for "fatter and bigger women" There was no mistake because she then repeated this when trying to help us further. I had to stop myself from causing a scene, and we left immediately after being asked to try Banana Republic instead. What a slap in the face. We walked out astonished and ready to go home for the day. This staff needs to find a new line of work. Clearly shouldn't have made the cut.

Made a special trip up here to try on a couple of blouses I wanted to order online only to be told that their covid policy does not allow trying on in the store. I can understand and respect the policy except the two sales clerks in the store offered no help when I needed help with sizing. The entire time I was there they complained about an employee who was "furloughed" and wanted to use her discount when shopping recently. They "couldn't believe the nerve" and carried on and on about her. I shared, "this must be challenging trying to enforce corporate policy" only to be met with a rude, "I suppose." The two sales clerks who were in the store were ones I remember from the past -- they were not friendly or helpful then nor were they friendly or helpful today. I do not understand why some stores such as Nordstrom welcome customers to try on their clothes and have dressing rooms open while stores like J Jill prohibit doing so. I was assured I could purchase any item(s) and return for a full refund if it doesn't fit. This makes no sense to me that they prohibit trying on at the store yet will accept returns from a potentially unsanitary home or environment. I bought one shirt, at 50% off and a pair of earrings, also at 50% off. I did not bother using my J Jill card as I didn't want to show any additional support to this company. I seriously doubt any of J Jill's retail locations can continue to operate with this kind of attitude and ridiculous policies.
