I'm a freshman in college and wandered into Hudson Grace looking for a flower vase. I was asking a girl out on a date and wanted to make a small flower arrangement. The two women working the store (I didn't catch their names) not only gave me a display vase for free but spent over 15 minutes showing me how to arrange a flower display. They cut off the rose stems, showed me which leaves to remove, and helped arrange the flowers in the vase. It was one of the kindest gestures I have ever received.Update: she said yes! I'll definitely be returning for some candles :)

This plaza is great. It has a lot of my favorite eateries and dessert shops here. Shoutouts to Asian Box (curry), Antoine's Cookie Shop (delicious cookies that are basically my addiction), Rooster and Roast (very fresh and flavorful Thai food), Boba Guys (frequent this a lot because they have DECAF black milk tea. Not my favorite boba shop but eternally grateful for being able to get my boba fix after 12 noon). Parking can be a bit of a mess but if you go to the way back next to Trader Joe's I find there are generally a lot of spots. There tends to be a lot of high school kids here because it's across the street from the Palo Alto High School. I'm sure a lot of Stanford students also frequently visit too. Also the Trader Joe's here is pretty decent. It's not my top supermarket since it's so limited but it's good for random specialized goods in my opinion. I also liked their summer peaches - they were so sweet! There is also a decent ice cream shop Tin Pot. I also like that there is a CVS for your pharmacy needs.

A gem. Understated elegance. Table ware is beautiful and the hand dipped eggplant candles are very stylish. This place makes me want to host an outdoor beautiful dinner party! Perfect place for finding a hostess gift as well.

I like going here because there's plenty of places to go around like Trader Joe's, CVS, Mayfield's has some of the greatest breads. They also offer a cooking school sur la tables that's pretty awesome where you can get the kitchen materials. There's also some interesting food spots there like Asian box, Lulu's, Gott's burgers. It gets pretty busy on the weekend and can actually be very busy during the weekdays due to the high school that's across the street. If you don't mind the overcrowding is a teenager's pretty cool place to go.

I've had a love/hate relationship with this place for the 7 years I've lived on the Peninsula... it used to be that this was the closest spot to campus for a supermarket and other goods, or for an off-campus eat. Fast forward to living in RWC and it's like meh, don't have a great reason to be here. Pros: * Some useful stores. I still come here for the Athleta, Trader Joe's on occasion, and sometimes lunch before we head over to Stanford for biking or walks. * Some eateries are good, albeit pricey. Mayfield Bakery's baguettes and breads are my husband's favorite, still a treat for me to bring one home. Burgers at Gotts are tasty. Oren's Hummus just opened an express shop here which has been awesome. * The Trader Joe's is actually probably still tied for being my favorite with the hidden Menlo Park one, and the selection of fresh flowers has always been the best. * Unlike most malls, this one has plenty of parking throughout so you can always park near the stores you need. Especially right now with roadside pickup being a serious consideration, this has given them an edge over standard malls. * Looks like they've set up some outdoor seating which is helpful. Cons: * Unfortunately, despite being able to park where you need to, parking is CONGESTED here and hard to get around, although to be fair it's been slightly better during the pandemic as I'm assuming a lot of stores might have fewer people browsing for an extended time. Some drivers treat this place like the wild wild west with their Teslas and Porsches. * Usually a mess of cars, pedestrians, bikers, Paly students on their phones... stressful just to get out of here. * If you're going home Southbound on El Camino Real, it's not the most convenient. Attempting to do a southbound (left) turn onto El Camino from the Embarcadero exit takes some lane changing gymnastics very close to an intersection, and the other exit only throws you onto Northbound El Camino which has a divider. * Don't get too attached to some of the newer shops, I feel like aside from the hard core mainstays that have been here for years (i.e. the card store, Gott's, Mayfield, Athleta, TJ's), everything else has been a revolving carousel of openings and closings over the last 7 years, probably due to the (presumably) high rent here.

Avoid Town and Country outdoor dining during Covid 19. Town and Country has told restaurants that they are not allowed to let patrons use the restrooms inside the restaurants while eating outdoors but failed to keep the Town and Country restrooms UNLOCKED and OPEN at night while the patrons are eating dinner. CUSTOMER BEWARE - you can eat and drink but you can't use a bathroom. See my review of Mayfield Bakery.

The place to be on a sunday afternoon getting some errands done. The Trader Joe's is always a favorite for getting groceries. The Boba Guys store always has a long line so if you're coming here with a buddy, see if one person can wait in line for boba (pro-tip) while the other gets started on groceries, if you're in a hurry. Other spots are the Tin Pot Creamery for seriously delicious ice cream (can't go wrong with ice cream on a summer day). There are also plenty of clothing boutique stores, most of which are pricey but worth taking a look at if you're with your lady (most sell women's clothing and/or jewelry). One of my favorite places to be when I need to get some inspiration for my boba fix. There's something called T4 in downtown PA that's quite different from the boba guys here- the walk along both places is also pretty different. Downtown Palo Alto is much livelier than Town & Country on any evening night- especially with the occasional live saxophone or guitar in downtown PA- so that's the plus of going to a place like T4 for your boba. The same goes for getting dinner- there are way more options there and it is actually in fact a downtown. That being said, be prepared for downtown PA to be closed down by maybe 7 or 8 PM. So much for being a downtown! Alternatively the Town & Village area is pretty much dead by 6pm. Definitely a daytime area, and there are maybe 20 or 30 shops total, so you should be careful about planning to spend a ton of time here. The quickest way to get to this place is also a huge pro-tip, since it's a single lane to get into this shopping center and being right next to Palo Alto high school means you'll be competing with the kids getting dropped off in the morning and the lunch rush around noon time. You can either follow the traffic and turn left at the Mayfield Bakery, or if you're coming from the opposite direction you can turn right into the same entrance. The secret entrance (again, pro-tip alert!) is to head toward the UPS store where the parking is generally a long strip of spots right in front of the stores, and if you keep driving down toward TJ's you'll find a huge parking lot that ALWAYS has empty spots! Now you know- enjoy!

Little bit pricey to me. But interesting stuff. Everything in California costs more anyway.

A busy little shopping center with stores of every kind--books, food, home goods, clothes. The parking lot is packed, but that's what happens in popular places.

I am delighted by their all black taper candles. They're essential to complete your candelabra when you haunt the hallways of your house.
