A repeat customer. The service is excellent and the staff expertise on sizing for longevity versus comfort is very helpful. A big selection of shoes too for all ages! We'll be back for the next pair in a few months ?

Wonderful children's shoe store! The people who work here are so nice to the kids who come in. This is the BEST store for babies, toddlers and young kids. Yes, the price is a little more expensive but that's probably because Palo Alto is very expensive. But also...the people here carefully measure your kids' feet and talk through the different types of shoes and fits. Also - one of my kids has a leg issue and the doctor prescribed special shoes for him. Howard's immediately helped. My son's doctor said this is the store they recommend for any kids who need any corrective shoes. I read some of the negative reviews below and those comments are silly. I'm sorry, one guy said he was disappointed because he brought his mother into the store? It's a children's shoe store, bro. Also, I'm not sure about the refund issue but my guess...: a. Kids wear shoes without socks often, b. Kids (including mine) are often pretty gross.

‼‼‼PLEASE READ ‼‼‼. Just need you all to read!. I've been going to this store for as long as I remember. The service here is amazing, simply ask a question and you'll receive an answer! Otherwise, today I've seen something I didn't expect to see, I walked in the store and had over heard; which seemed an upset customer up at the register complaining about not getting a refund, which was confusing since there is a sign that says "STORE POLICY." ' EXCHANGE OR STORE CREDIT ' "NO REFUNDS." Which also is on the receipt. This Store Policy has been a thing since the beginning! On the other hand, when I overheard what has been going on, the customer began to raise her voice and also started being rude to the lady behind the register! Constantly asking the same question which has been answered plenty times. The worker was being very corporate with the customer! common sense people!!

BUYER BEWARE! NO REFUNDS! Don't shop here! I had a terrible experience shopping there today with my daughter! The saleswoman kept telling us about getting 2 pairs for $60! My daughter chose a pair and the lady kept bringing other shoes out making me think that both pairs will be $60. When I went to the cashier after my daughter had set her mind on wanting both she writes up a bill for $105! I pay it, not wanting to disappoint my daughter but then I realize how wrong that felt. I bring the second pair of shoes back within 5 minutes, unworn in the box and she says there are NO REFUNDS! Aside from her lying to us about the sales price, the same shoes can be bought anywhere else for half the price or even cheaper! It feels like they just want to rip you off! Zero stars is what they deserve. Very rude salesperson. I think the reason they have the NO REFUNDS policy is that they know that people might find out that they bought extremely overpriced shoes and will actually want a refund! I am all for not buying online and supporting good local shops but this place is not worth your support! UPDATE: Just an update that the business manager, Karla, is lying in her reply about the no refund policy being explained to me before my purchase. Not only did you not tell me, now you are lying about it! When I brought a pair back shortly to return and you said that "there are no refunds", I asked why you didn't tell me when purchasing and you shamelessly said "you didn't ask". That is no way to run a business by lying and ripping people off!

Horrible service and management. Not only was the staff unhelpful but when I spoke to the manager to ask whether there was a discount on the last display model she got extremely snappy. Because of poor service I do not recommend.

Pros: definitely the most varied collection of kids shoes in one place, small business, often offering sales to people who sign up for their loyalty program (I get texts all the time). Cons: expensive! WAY more than I expected for two pairs of kids shoes ($150). I once bought my kid Nikes at Nordstrom and thought I was being bougie by spending $50/pair, but now I know that it may have been a better economical choice to go there. That said, department stores are under staffed and don't always have the sizes you need, so back to the pros, you're gonna find shoes at Howard's.

The team at Howard Shoes in Palo Alto is excellent and incredibly knowledgeable! Not only do they educate you on the proper fitting, but the staff goes the extra mile to help you! As for Elsa (new owner/employee), she's beyond helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. She's more than willing to help you understand proper fitting, and why you can't always get the shoes you want due to post COVID-19 supply issues. The shoe/accessories selection is beyond phenomenal! Elsa also welcomes recommendations, as she evolves as new store owner.
