Terrible customer service. The gym equipment and amenities don't amount to the pricing for the gym. It's despicable

I wanted to join a high-end gym to prioritize my fitness and health. I've been struggling with depression and currently weigh 300 pounds. My goal is to lose over 100 pounds and my experience has been awkward and uncomfortable. I The general manager, who was a very imposing figure at around 6 foot three and maybe 300+ pounds, with a dirty look and a full beard, said to me, "There is no filming at this gym. I don't F*** around and I don't give 2 shits " I been here for 18 years" there are people who can sue us. If you have a video with anyone in the background, it can be a liability." I was like, "Are you serious? Really, what are the odds of someone seeing my video on my TikTok, where I only have like 300 followers, and then coming back to sue me?" Very ugly gym I'm just a man that is fat that wants to lose weight

This gym should not be allowed to function under the equinox brand. An embarrassment. Four broken stair steppers that have not been fixed for the two years I’ve been a member. Overrun by high school kids. Over crowded. Constantly a mess

I had a terrible experience here. I was in town for 2 days and wanted to use the gym. I pay $300 per month for access to Southern California equinox. They wanted to charge me $50 to use the gym, which I thought was unreasonable given that I've been a member for 10 years paying that much. The manager was very unhelpful and unprofessional. I ended up going to Berry's Bootcamp instead.

Just moved here from Dallas. Sadly this is the least updated equinox - respectfully I was taken back to 2010. So paying the same price at this location as an updated 2024 equinox doesn’t make sense unfortunately :/

This has to be the worst gym periodt! All they want is your money and then try to sell you more upgrades. And then lack of communication, accountability, and utter disregard for a pleasant client experience. I spoke to Michael and Stefan and they are both rude, callous and not customer centric. Their arrogant and discourteous attitude baffles me. You are better off with a Planetfitness membership than this dump!

Terrible customer service when requesting a monthly fee refund after a freeze (I didn't know the max was 3 months) and membership cancellation due to relocation - they have hostile policies that only benefit the company. Greedy management and no consideration to the special circumstances of the (15 year) customer.

The worst mistake I made was joining this gym. DON'T! They are super great and friendly and welcoming until you sign. Then you never hear from them. They are not concerned with your concerns at all. How hard is it to respond to an email???It is a total scam too. I emailed and emailed them with concerns and they never responded. Then I received this: "You started your membership on xx/xx/xxxx and it would be 48 days from when you requested to cancel on xx/xx/xxxx. Since this is beyond 45 days..." What the hell is this about 45 days? I was NEVER told this and would have for SURE cancelled if it was possible within 45 days.I was hopeful to return to swimming but this place is unfriendly, unwelcoming and it's a hike to just get to the pool. The pool is cold and small. There is no hot tub. The locker room is arranged so that there is hardly room to move around. The environment made me not want to come back. The year-term is AWFUL and should be changed to allow people to try this place out and see if meets their needs. I will cancel the day my contract is up and never recommend this place to anyone.STAY AWAY.

* Poor customer relations, and culture* Machines and treadmills are frequently out of order* Long wait time to use equipment* The upstairs area always smells bad* Unprofessional and inexperienced management* Treadmills are reserved for other classes during busy hours (with no communication or signage)* Does not compare to other branches such as NYC

They listened to everyone complaining about poor weekend hours and updated it by now closing at 2pm on Saturday and not being open at all on Sundays? Horrible weekend hours.

The space is spacious and great for exercising, especially the steam sauna.

The reviews made me a little nervous but I have to say after going for a month- I don't understand them. It's a nice gym, the instructors are great and super solid amenities. Also love the variety available re: classes and the Equinox staff is generally friendly and competent. 5 stars from me!

1 star off because it doesn’t have a sauna

I was skeptical coming here because of the reviews. Although I have to say that that staff was wonderful, the gym itself is bigger than I thought, really nice and new equipment. Really excited

My review is solely of Tal, a personal trainer. Tal gave me a training session when I was considering Equinox. Equinox ultimately did not work out for me, and the pool was too cold which for me was a deal breaker, but I would like to give a shout-out to Tal and recommend him heartily to new clients at Equinox. First off, Tal is amazingly clear when he demonstrates good form. Secondly, Tal adapts and adjusts exercises as needed. Thirdly, he quickly and graciously establishes a personal connection and shows interest in you as a person. And lastly, he gave me some tips which were new to me even though I had had several personal trainers before Tal. I wish I could continue working with Tal but the logistics do not align for that.
