The good: Mollie Stones has a very broad selection of items, including a lot of specialty items. If you're looking to stumble on a new treasure or looking for something hard to find, they are a good bet.The not as good: the flip side of their wide selection is that Mollie Stones does not always refresh their inventory - more than ones, I'll buy a box of something and after I get to my car I see the best by date was three months ago. Their prices are also high for the area - even compared to Whole Foods, Sigonas, Roberts, and other specialty stores.

Mollie Stones offers a similar high-quality shopping experience to Whole Foods, minus the pretentiousness. If you're on a tight budget, it may not be the best choice, but if you're in search of top-notch meats, fresh produce, an extensive wine and liquor selection, and exceptional customer service, then Mollie Stones is your go-to destination.

Mollie Stone's is a very special supermarket. It is a community-oriented, cozy, personable supermarket, where enthusiasm for making people feel good is the store's mission. There were rows upon rows and stacks upon stacks of fresh local organic produce (you name it, they have it), as well as an impressive array of meats, seafoods, dairy, dried goods, etc. There's a whole section for international "world foods" and also for Kosher foods. There are plenty of baked goods and an extensive hot food and soup bar and prepared food, etc. You can even fill up your own bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice (there's a machine that lets you witness oranges turn into juice before your very eyes) - I bought a bottle, it was super refreshing! It has literally everything - all the usual things a grocery store would have. It also sells its own brand of certain products, such as Mollie Stone's own brand of jams (e.g black raspberry, strawberry, peace), preserved fruits (e.g. Bartlett pears, peach halves), and pickles (e.g. beets, cucumbers). They also have a large selection of beautiful, cute, and/or useful non-food items, including but not limited to: fancy soaps, tote bags, aprons (and for kids), kitchen appliances / towels / utensils / oven mitts, plates/pitchers/bowls, lunch boxes for kids, mugs, candles. It also sells items from other well-loved brands and stores, like cards from Papyrus, Hydroflasks, Peet's Coffee, Urban Remedy, Pressed Juicery, etc. Mollie Stone's is also huge. When I walked in, I had only walked through half of the store and was already thoroughly impressed with the variety of things they offered - just when I thought I had walked through the entire store, I looked further down and there was an entire other half of the store that I hadn't even entered! Another way it stands out from other supermarkets is its community feel - it felt cozier than most grocery stores. There was even a kid-friendly "show" by a "Mr. Goodchoice" who would sing classic songs like "Old McDonald had a farm" and advocate values like recycling and avoiding drugs and alcohol. Overall, Mollie Stone's is an an extraordinary supermarket with a cozy community feel - I would definitely recommend visiting and buying goods here!!!

Thank you to the manager at California Street Molly Stones who returned envelope with my mother's death certificates, which were in an unmarked postal envelope. He went above and beyond to hand deliver to my condo complex on his own time. This gentleman with a white beard came to gated door and asked a neighbor to find me because he did not have a phone number, just a unit number. I sincerely appreciate his kindness . Diane

I hate to say it but i bought a really expensive lamb shoulder and brisket from mollie stones and paid $89.00 for each of them! They were kosher and when you buy kosher they aren't supposed to hide the fact that 2/3 of the meat is fat! It was a rolled up shoulder and 2/3 of the roast was no good! I will have to throw it out it is all fat! I live an hour+ away and to try and drive it down to the mollie stones in Palo Alto, when they know damn well what they did when people are trying to save up to have a nice dinner and they roll up a fat loaf is not right! I will not go to them for my Passover food this year because of this! I 'am a new widow and have to watch my my money cause of extenuating circumstances! Shame on Mollie Stones!

I was running some errands in the area when I stumbled upon Mollie Stone's. I finished my appointment early so I decided to check this place out. The store is very well organized and has a great selection of products. I was craving for a snack so I got California roll (12 pcs) and a can of San Pellegrino sparkling drink. The sushi really hit the spot and the drink was quite refreshing. The market also has outdoor seating right by the parking lot. With excellent customer service and wonderful array of produce, this place is definitely worth a visit!

I decided to give the AFC sushi counter at Mollie Stone's another chance, and I was blown away by the improvements in quality and selection now available. I tend to be a self-proclaimed sushi snob, and I was definitely impressed with the freshness, quality, and beautiful craftsmanship of all their sushi rolls and platters. This time, I ordered: Chef's Choice platter- perfect if you're an indecisive eater like me, and want to try different items. They typically come with a diverse selection of sashimi and sushi rolls, which are seriously comparable to restaurant quality. My favorite rolls include the rainbow, caterpillar, done deal, dynamite rolls, and their salmon sashimi is always consistently fresh and high quality. Sushiritto- perfect if you're looking for a fully cooked option! This was delicious, and absolute stuffed with imitation crab and a generous selection of veggies and avocado. Definitely one of my best experiences with supermarket sushi in the Bay Area, and I'll definitely be back again!

Very disappointed and upset, my husband came in and ordered a pastrami and tri-tip sandwich at the counter and ended up getting a chicken. We even paid an extra dollar for extra meat! All the free veggies were right, except for the meat. For those who order sandwiches from there, make sure you double check your sandwich before you leave.

A pricey neighborhood grocery store with both everyday and many specialty items such as Norwegian brown cheese (we can't find anywhere else!). The deli is also pretty good.

I shop here once or twice a week my goodies or produce, however every time Doug is in the register gives me a hard time, today and as always he doesn't want to bag my items even he told me if I don't like it to go somewhere else, also he tried to cancel my order I asked him to call Dave the store manager he just picked up the phone and assimilated he did called. Dave leaves at 5pm it was already 5:24pm he just tried to fool me about the phone call he hung up the phone said that I don't suppose to bag my items then he started bagging, this employee is always with a bad attitude, I would like to be contacted by corporation headquarters for more details

Mollie Stones has the best deli in this area. Their chefs do a really great job crafting the sandwiches. I get lunch from here very often and have always been impressed by the quality of their greens, cheese and meats. Also, the AFC sushi section has some really good rolls for lunch..

This market has a lot to offer especially if you are looking for kosher foods and meat. The deli has a favorite chickpea salad with olive oil, green olives, red pepper and parm that is quite good. Also very solid tuna and egg salad made in house. Sushi made fresh in store as well as sandwiches, hot soups, excellent cheese selection...On the pricier side. Easy parking and some tables outside to eat out which is great when the weather is good. Customer service here is genuine.
