The book I wanted wouldn't make it from Amazon on time but I was able to search the Books Inc inventory on their website, drive down and pick it up. The store is cozy, the staff are helpful and if you need a book they are worth a visit.

Real bookstore vibes. Was able to pick up my next journal (the most pages yet), the updated copy of the book I had finished, was pointed in the direction of the next book to read (it’s so good!) and have natural interactions with fellow shoppers. More of these please. ☺️☔️

Great selection of cards and books but service was 2-star. The associate I asked about a certain book vaguely pointed me to the children's section. He told me to search by title. I couldn't figure out which of the children's categories would have it, so I left. Not helpful.

This book store support terror organization Hamas by displaying a propaganda of pro-Palestinian support in their store.Despite assurances to remove it, the display remains unchanged.

It had a very nice and calming atmosphere like being in a nice and warm coffee shop. It had a fairly good amount of graphic novels. It also had some cool book related trinkets.

With help from the great staff, found just what I was after. So glad there's still a brick and mortal bookstore close by!

I had 2 gift cards to Books Inc. I tried to order 2 books online. Checked the gift card balance, saw it was about $40 combined. Tried to place the order, the site gave me a cryptic error message, said it couldn't place the order, I should call a store. Called the Palo Alto store, ordered the books with them. A few weeks later, they let me know the books had arrived. I went into pick them up and they told me the gift cards were empty. The site had charged my gift cards without actually ordering the books! When I explained what had happened, they offered me the email address of the manager. Seriously? I'm standing there in the store! I have to send someone else an email? It's their gift cards, their website, but now it's MY problem to get resolved? Forget it. I have shopped there because I like having a book store in my neighborhood but if they're going to just steal from me, I'll buy my books from amazon like the rest of the world.

Great bookstore in a really nice shopping complex. Try to stop here whenever I am going by the area. They have a great selection of cookbooks and always have something local or interesting highlighted at the checkout stand.

I call ahead and I'm always rewarded with information about what titles are available. There are sales people who are really knowledgeable about current issues. I wanted to find books for youth about gender non conformity: sure enough, there's a great woman to help me! I always buy my books there! I never use the "A" shopping alternative because Books Inc hires local people and will order any books that they don't have. Use local book stores!

Many places have lost their independent bookstores but Palo Alto has managed to keep this excellent one, staffed by friendly book lovers, with a wide ranging selection, naturally curated to match the local literature aficionados. I hope the store survives for a long time.
