A cute and eclectic book shop in downtown Palo Alto. The store has real charm, and was popular with tourists and locals alike.

Really nice bookstore with a reasonably priced selection of new and used books. I enjoyed the wide variety of history books. The employee were very friendly, too. The only downside was parking was hard to find. I recommend the parking garage under the police station (about 2 blocks and a 5 minute walk). Apple Pay is accepted here.

Bell Books is a treasure to have in Palo Alto! This unique bookstore is a must to visit for any bibliophile. They carry a range of older and new publications, as well as some first editions and some signed editions. They had a beautiful selection of journals, too lovely to pass up getting one. They even had Georgette Heyer novels (older printed copies and brand new ones) which I bought a few for friend gifts! Great customer service too.

I was here looking for books and found interesting story books for children. The service is great, if you have any questions on specific types of books, they help you. I paid and the receipt was sent to my email.

So adorable! Love that masks are still enforced since it's such a small/high touch space. A great mix of new and used/collectible books. Didn't end up purchasing this time but will be back!

Lovely bookstore. This book store have limited editions and 1st editions books stored in glass cabinets which is interesting to glimpse at. Large variety of books, statues and figurines at every eye turn. Definitely a must visit if your nearby.

Really cool bookshop, tons of old books. Second largest philosophy section I've seen (first is Maruzen in Kyoto, which is all brand new books). This place has a lot of books which were given to the philosopher Richard Rorty and sold here after he died - some books still even have handwritten post it notes from the philosopher (e.g. "Mike, please make a photo copy of pages x-z, RR"

Great attention to detail: little signs about authors, quotes from classics etc, this place is a celebration of books. A broad range of subjects and within each subject actually good books e.g. science section was full of books that genuinely sounded intriguing to read, not just text books or the usual popular science titles. Excellent selection of 1st editions too. I would definitely recommend this place over the Stanford Uni "book" store which is mainly just a clothing store. Best I could find there was an overpriced copy of Sapiens Vs in Bell's for less money I got a copy of Don Quixote and a 1st edition English translation of Mendoza's City of Marvels. I would have happily spent more time there, highly recommended.
