I was a member a long time ago. I fell away and now all these years later understand that these disciples are truly on the right path. Ever since I fell away I've never felt the same or seen the world the same. The fire that was once there is finally gone. The Bible said this would happen to me but my pride keeps me away. Anyways I really hope u make the right decision if someone has shared their faith withyou! GO and study with them It really will change you forever!

The church staff and community here blow it out of the water. Everyone is so friendly and go out if their way to introduce you to the community without seeming pushy like other churches sometimes can be. They also have a ton of online sermons and tools for people with children and beyond!

The BACC has been a life changer for me and my family. Teaching me how to have a personal relationship with God and having friends who care enough about me and my family to tell me truth has saved my marriage and has made me a better husband, father, and friend. The diversity of the church is amazing and it reflects the great diversity of the Bay Area.

I encourage Yelp moderators to please briefly look up both Bay Area Christian Church and International Churches of Christ on the internet before they decide that I am being too critical or offensive and delete my review. These are known cults. I have removed what I've felt Yelp thought was offensive. Cults posing as legitimate Christian churches offend me not only as a Christian but as a consumer. I am posting facts about what BACC peddles as "Christian doctrine". I want other consumers to have the same information. Russ Ewell is the cult leader of the Bay Area Christian Church. He is an ex-employee and follower of cult leader Kip McKean the leader of The International Churches of Christ. He adheres to and teaches the exact same cult doctrines invented by Kip McKean. As do all cults, these cult leaders rely heavily on taking biblical scripture out of context to create these bizarre doctrines. The cult doctrines are: · The 1 Church Doctrine - Every person throughout history after the death of the 1st century apostles go to hell until Kip McKean's modern-day 1 church appears in 1972, The International Church of Christ or facsimiles such as Russ Ewell's BACC. A person must join one of these churches or they will go to hell. There is only 1 true church - McKean and Ewell's. · The Discipler Chain - Each church member is a link in the Discipler Chain. No member of these churches are strong enough to make his or her own decisions, only another church member deemed a stronger chain link is able to make decisions for the other member, that stronger link in the chain is also too weak to make his or her own decisions and must rely on another stronger link than themselves, so on and so on. Of course Russ Ewell and Kip McKean are always the strongest links in this "Discipler Chain" of command. · The Mark - If a church member rebels and speaks out against these churches they are given an invisible mark which condemns them to hell and they are permanently excommunicated. When a member is given this mark no existing member is ever allowed to speak to that ex-member again or they too will be given that same mark and permanently excommunicated. In my opinion one huge reason people are attracted to these churches is the "Sexual Purity Dating Club". If you are a single member of this church, you are in this club, like it or not, most members like it because members are not allowed to date outside of the church or they will be excommunicated. It creates a "big fish in a small pond" effect. In this day and age of AIDS and other STD's all unmarried members being required to be celibate and single until engaged and married can be quite appealing to many people. In short if you see an unmarried member of the opposite sex who is a member of this church, they are definitely single. Turning down a "date" is strongly discouraged. As a member it seemed this was a positive thing for most other members who may have faced rejection or "ghosting" on online dating sites, but for myself it turned into downright sexual harassment by members of the opposite sex. This may sound weird or conceited coming from myself being a man, but many women also expressed to me feelings of sexual harassment even more so by men who just wouldn't take no for an answer. This no rejection dating club comes at a price though. Members are pressured to donate as much money as possible on a weekly basis, and every year during tax season members are constantly harassed for even larger donations with what is called "The Special Missions Contribution." This is a way for these cults to get the tax returns of young people just starting their careers and larger donations from the more prosperous members of the cult who need to offload money to lower their tax brackets. Perhaps this is why Russ Ewell moved his "Bay Area Christian Church" from San Francisco to Silicon Valley. Like most of Kip McKean's followers Russ Ewell has a habit of standing on his soapbox and bashing gay

I've been a member of The BACC for 34 years. I had just walked away from an abusive marriage that I had to garner the strength to leave. Members of the church helped me where I was. Some of the people were already friends of mine. As time went on I developed other friends who also helped me rebuild my life. After my divorce, I met my husband of 33 years at church. We have a son and he and his wife have a month old baby girl. The BACC has people of all ages. We have great classes for young children, as well as, Middle School, Teen, Professional and Family ministries. We aren't perfect but we continue to try. One of the other things I really appreciate about my church is we try to help in the communities where we live. We want to help make a difference.

The B.A.C.C. has made a great transformation from in person church and social activities to on line, live streaming church services on youtube, and social meet ups on zoom. Sunday lessons and supplemental studies/podcasts on deepspirituality.com make the bible immediately relatable and relevant to our own lives and handling the world around us. I would recommend to anyone and everyone to check it out.

It's strange to write a yelp review for a church but it seems like it's needed now more than ever. The group here is incredibly diverse and welcoming, while also being able to learn more about the God from the Bible. During the pandemic, it's been inspiring to be a part of a church that goes after doing good and inclusion. The livestreams are made with care and dig deep, despite not being able to meet in person. Like all other churches, there are faults and mistakes, but it is here that people are able to be honest and vulnerable. At whatever stage of life you may be at, there can be a place here for you.

I visited Sunday 12/29/19 and though I enjoyed the teaching and was able to apply it to my life, was very surprised by the service because the church's website seemed to present itself as if there was music, musical instruments, and more liveliness. However, when I visited the church, it was quite different. I wondered why the site didn't post any of the preaching's or the services but I now understand why. For a first time visitor, I wasn't sure what was going on during the entire service. The leader would just say "do such and such" and the congregation followed. No explanation for each segment of the service but awkward silence was present and then the next part of the service enveloped. The services was extremely mechanical as if it was being rushed through to finish. Though there was a drum set on the stage, there was only a few singers who snapped their fingers to keep beat. I later realized that this church is a Church of Christ church where they don't believe in having musical instruments which is strange to me being that the bible teaches to use instruments (harp, tambourines, stringed instruments, timbrels, etc). I am glad that they teach the bible but a little more information on their website of what their doctrine is and a lot more direction during service for visitors would help. The church does have a lot of young college people so that was very encouraging.

My wife and I were introduced to BACC many years ago and have been attending ever since. We are very grateful for the church in many ways, helping with our marriage, parenting, friendships and deep relationships. During these pandemic hard times, we feel grateful and fortunate for the genuine and real connections with others in the church. The focus on the Bible and nothing but the Bible is really refreshing, with no creeds or other religious tradition or rules. The focus on serving the special needs community is also inspiring. Highly recommended.
