Gus at AJ Tutoring is awesome. He provided provided support for our daughter all 3 years in middle school for mainly math and other subjects when she needed more clarification. We went from in person to Zoom sessions that we maintained as it was more convenient for us. He is always patient, friendly and was able to provide her the extra nudge when needed. We maintained great communication throughout, and was always responsive. We will miss him as he does not tutor high school students at this time.

Our son worked with Ryan Li for AP Bio. Ryan was a phenomenal teacher and our son loved the class. He made learning Biology effortless. Highly recommend!!!!

A hometown friend introduced us to AJ Tutoring and they are fantastic! Their services help my kids stay on track with their regular school work while giving them a head start on topics they've yet to cover in class.
Ashley Kasper has been our tutor since we began with AJ Tutoring. She's unbelievable. Ashley constantly finds new and unique ways to connect with our kids and bring out their best. The strategies and concepts she introduces (at grade-appropriate levels) are remarkable, and we can see that in our kids' work. They look forward to her weekly games and challenges, and we love that she makes learning fun for them.
Our kids (and we as parents) enjoy it so much that we will continue using AJ Tutoring throughout the summer. If your child needs some focused help or you want to give them a new and exciting way to learn, contact AJ Tutoring (and ask for Ashley). You won't be disappointed!

Tehdrienne was my child's SAT tutor, and she was fantastic. We opted for 1:1 tutoring sessions with her. She was very thoughtful and strategic when she created a customized learning plan for my child. She was also able to adjust and pivot as needed to maximize and optimize my child's strengths and opportunities. Under Tehdrienne's guidance and support, my child's SAT score significantly improved and we were all very happy with the final score. I highly recommend Tehdrienne and AJ Tutoring overall!

Julian Simington tutored my son in Calculus and Multivariable Calculus. He explained concepts clearly and well, and he bridged the gap that existed in classroom lectures. Julian is an excellent tutor, and he is patient and kind. I wholeheartedly recommend Julian.

My tutor, Derek Updegraff, has been great for me for a year and a half, and I don't think I could've earned A's in my physics classes without him. He is very professional and great at providing insight into the problems I struggled with. Some of my favorite things about Derek are his ability to explain concepts in new ways and provide helpful examples, as well as allowing me to test my strengths at problem solving on my own before jumping in to help. I have only had positive experiences with AJ tutoring and really appreciate their service.

I've had a beyond amazing experience with Derek Updegraff as my physics tutor. Not only does he explain complex physics problems at eye level, but has a warm demeanour that makes him such an approachable tutor. During our sessions he is nothing but informative and kind, and allows me to feel comfortable learning in his teaching setting. I'm very happy to have had him as my tutor and I recommend him to anybody looking for amazing physics help!

Tehdrienne Wilmoth did a great job preparing our son for the SAT. She was thorough, followed up on areas that needed more help, and created a customized test preparation plan. In addition, the mock tests at AJ tutoring simulated the test environment. Our son felt prepared on the actual test day. Highly recommend.

I am a student, and I was struggling in physics due to lack of support from my teacher. Derek has been by "teacher outside of school" and he has been super super helpful. Couldn't recommend him more!

We 4 were clints of this school. And I can tell you that they are rapidly heading towards decline. The teachers are getting worse and you are at great risk of exposing your child.We had a difficult situation and I asked them for help naturally well paid from my side))))) They were negligent and set us up, they just forgot to give us the information we needed, it was just a misunderstanding that affected the whole further education of my child for the very worst.....My advice do not take this school you are very risky!

This review is for Palo Alto AJ Tutoring. As of September 2023, this center does not provide in-person college counseling service. We were told "our college counseling support is online only, so we don't have any counselors available to work with you in person". For anyone who wants to talk to a consultant in-person, you could skip Palo Alto or Menlo Park AJ.

I worked with Derek during my Junior year for Physics and Senior year for Calc AB and he was great!!! I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for a tutor, he was super easy to work with and always made me laugh! Thanks Derek!!
