I have rented lots of trucks, and this was by far the best experience from the reservation to the pickup, payment, and drop-off. Gustavo was quick and efficient and even applied extra AAA discount. Communication was top-notch. Will recommend to everyone with no reservation A++

They made us give a 100$ deposit that we'd be able to get back when we gave the keys back to a truck we never even got to leave the home Depot parking lot...

The absolute scariest and worst truck rental experience of my life. Last weekend, March 13th, I rented a 16' truck. My pickup time was for 6:00am, but the rental agent was alone with 2 other customers. We didn't actually get the rental until after 7:00am because of the long wait. When we were taken to check the truck, I noticed that it was pretty beat up and made sure she acknowledged all of the dents and scratches. I asked her if the truck had been checked for drive-ability. She said "No, we don't check the trucks." That should have been my warning to walk away. We pulled out of the lot and I noticed that the transmission kept jumping from D to N to R. Really scary. Then when I tried to brake, my foot almost went to the floor before the truck stopped. I should have turned around, but we had folks waiting for us to help with the move. After a white knuckle trip to LA and back to Desert Hot Springs, we returned the truck the following morning. No one was there for the return. Apparently, no Penske rental agents are ever there. I spoke with Raul at the Penske office in Riverside, and he offered me a $118 discount but couldn't just refund it to the rental, I had to go back down to the Penske/HD on Ramon Road in Palm Springs. Well, we did. No on was there to issue the rental. The HD guy in tool rentals had no clue. At this point, I want an ENTIRE refund for this rental for several reasons: #1 Putting my life and my husbands life at risk even driving that truck. #2 For having horrible customer service. #3 The Penske rental agency needs to check the vehicles inside and out before allowing a truck like that on the road.
