I purchase a pretty fur vest! The one who helped me was exceptionally sweet and helpful. The other worker was rude and had an ugly demeanor. I noticed the store smelled like rotten eggs and offer some advice on a plumbing issue my business had once had. She barked back, we KNOW, we have tried everything and gave me dirty look.

When it comes to bohemian fashion, Johnny Was and Free People are like two different planets. Free People is the wild child, the one who parties until dawn, wears crop tops and cut-off shorts, and rocks flower crowns like it's Coachella every day. Johnny Was, on the other hand, is the older, more refined sibling who's all about flowy maxi dresses, embroidered jackets, and chunky statement jewelry. Now, let me tell you a story about a girl named Sally. Sally was a self-proclaimed bohemian from the day she discovered Free People in her teens. She spent all her money on their clothes, wore flower crowns to school, and even got a tattoo of a dreamcatcher on her ankle. But as Sally grew up, she started to realize that maybe Free People wasn't really her style anymore. She couldn't keep up with their wild and free ways, and her body wasn't quite as toned as it used to be. So, she started to explore other options. One day, Sally stumbled upon a Johnny Was store while shopping with her mom. At first, she was hesitant. The clothes looked so mature and sophisticated, like something her mom would wear. But then she saw a flowy tunic with intricate embroidery, and something clicked.Sally started to experiment with Johnny Was pieces, mixing them with her Free People staples. She felt like a fish out of water at first, but soon enough she started to embrace her new, more refined style. She even traded in her avocado toast for kale chips and kombucha. But the real turning point came when Sally went to a book club meeting wearing a Johnny Was maxi dress and oversized earrings. Her friends were shocked. "Sally, you look so different!" they exclaimed. "Are you okay?"Sally just smiled and sipped her chamomile tea, feeling like she had finally found her place in the world of bohemian fashion. As she left the meeting, she heard one of her friends whisper, "I guess Sally is a woman now."Sally couldn't help but burst out laughing. She was a woman, but she was still a bohemian at heart, and that was all that mattered.

The store manager running the place during the day is RUDE. I came in to replace items stolen from me at Palm Valley Country club which was a rental through Fairway Vacation. She offered water said a few words and made hissing sounds like I was bothering her. She started counting clothing. Now it was mu understanding that customers are first. If we don't make purchases there are no jobs and of course no reason to count clothing. The company needs to retrain her or select a replacement. I like the clothing but not her attitude.

Best Boho line ever. Lots of velvets. You will have to cash your dividend check but these are heirloom pieces. Beautifully designed and each piece will be outstanding in your wardrobe. I can always spot an Johnny Was. Attitude here...well...I don't know. You will certainly have an attitude as well if you are in a position to procure threads here. They did let me appreciate (admire) all the "creations" and touch everything without too much ado and wished for me that I could buy all I desired here. They have more than attire such as purses, blankets, jewelry and accessories. Their catalogs are worth perusing...get one.

The woman with grey hair was very rude to us. We entered the store a little before close. There was more than enough time for us to look around. She made it very clear she didn't want us in the store. So we left with out purchasing anything. She was RUDE!!!!!!!

We went early afternoon on a Sunday and it was not too crowded due to covid 19. My sister was looking for a bag for her daughter and we found it here. It was inexpensive, thus she bought another one for her. It was all so pretty. Highly recommended!

Bohemian bourgeois boutique. This colorful and vivacious shop located in the heart of downtown Palm Desert has exquisite gowns, sweaters, shirts and bags for lavish prices (200+). My aunt introduced me to Johnny Was. There is a small sale area that housed a gorgeous embroidered jacket. Initially priced over $600, it was reduced to $425. I instantly loved it, but decided to think about the investment further. I returned to the shop after seeing a lovely gown ($350ish) in the window. While the gown didn't fit my form properly, the jacket did...The clothes truly are one-of-a-kind. The two staff members, Jacquelyn & Jeanette, were both incredibly helpful, friendly, and down-to-earth. I felt genuinely welcomed into the store, which, given my post-yoga appearance (disheveled hair, jeans, tank top), was a lovely surprise, as I have previously encountered pretentious staff members in boutiques. Jacquelyn & Jeanette far exceeded my expectations with their kindness. Thanks, ladies!

First time in a Johnny Was store! As so excited to see this shop as I was strolling in Palm Canyon during Small Business Saturday. Just weeks before a friend was wearing a gorgeous face mask and when I inquired about where she bought it, she said Johnny Was. I was like, huh? Johnny who? After a quick search I found their online store and immediately purchased a four pack of their gorgeous masks. If we have to wear them, we may as wear fashionable ones! It was wonderful to see and touch the clothing and accessories in person. The prints are intricate and vibrant, some embroidered, others silk, all stylish and high quality. So happy I came upon this shop! Of course I bought several packs of masks to give as gifts and a new dress for myself! Those working there were super helpful and cheerful. Great shopping experience!

The workers are extremely rude and try to intimidate you. Especially the store manager. I went on Black Friday to pre sale some leggings left my phone number with the assistant manager and they never reached back to me so I purchased embroidered joggers online since in person they selectively chose who they want to sell to in their store.

Yangie have my daughter and I amazing service while telling us about the brand, showing us blankets and the differences of the items and how they're made. Great employee representing your brand. Hope she's taken care of! Good people are hard to find. Beautiful store, great masks too and clothing.

Walked into store and a female associate was coughing up a storm while working. I am mediately stopped and yelled are you OK from halfway across the store. she looks up at me with bloodshot eyes and replied yes she’s recovering from Covid? I turned and walked out the store. About an hour later passing by the store, I could see that same associate walking around the store without a mask still continuing to cough. BEWARE PEOPLE STAY AWAY!!!!
