Extra charges -1. they tried to charge me for extra driver when in California s spouce is considered free 2, fuel charge - car was filled up at gas station just outside of town 3 charged for insurance event hough there was a conversation about declination. READ VERY CAREFULLY THE CONTRACTS THEY WILL SCREW YOU.

I would give zero stars if possible. I reserved a specific category of vehicle (I think compact) because I needed a small vehicle to fit in a small parking space I was allotted. When the clerk handed me the key, I noticed it was for a larger vehicle. I asked why and she said I was "upgraded" to a larger vehicle. I told her that was a "downgrade" because I needed the small vehicle that I booked. She shrugged and said they had none and there was nothing she could do. No remorse whatsoever; no apologies; no creative suggestion to solve the problem which Avis created. If Avis cannot supply the vehicle I "reserved" then they should be required to advise me of that at time of booking or well in advance of my arrival, so that I can search for an alternate provider who can. By misleading me as to availability until the day of arrival, I was was stuck since I had no time available to make alternate arrangements.

Arrived in Palm Springs at 1:30 PM. Got bags and got in line at the AVIS counter at 2 PM. Two hours later I finally got to the counter. The agent told me to wait at the door as he was waiting for the keys. One hour later we finally drove out of the lot (it was now 5 PM). The worst rental car experience ever.

You have got to be crazy to go any other place for car rentals other than Avis. Prices are doable and they leave room for negotiations. It was simply just a great experience over-all, from beginning to end. The car was clean and when the agent asked me which color I would like, I was so impressed. I highly recommend Avis to those persons who want a great new car, fast, efficient, friendly service, and all at affordable prices!

The location is a bit off the beaten track but that is well compensated by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and condition/selection of the vehicles. Quick and efficient car pick up/drop off, helpful service with a smile and great new car!

Terrible overall experience, starting with a reservation agent who was barely coherent and communicated very poorly when explaining available services and options on my rental. He also spelled my name wrong on the reservation and didn’t change it when I asked him though (although he assured me he had)When I arrived at the rental office, I was informed that the SUV I rented was not available and I should be “grateful they even had a vehicle available”. I paid for a Premium SUV, but was given a terrible compact SUV which was loud, uncomfortable and poorly maintained.Extremely poor experience overall and I will never rent with AVIS ever again.

Denied my card last minute, had to go to hertz, then they charged me a $50 no cancel fee on the card that they denied. I’ve talked to Avis five times in the last two weeks trying to get my $50 back, but to no Avail. This company is an absolute joke, do not rent here!!!

Check your receipt carefully. I rented from this location and even before I returned the car to the same location - I was charged for returning the car to a different state altogether. I was subsequently charged an additional amount. It took over a week and multiple phone calls to resolve the TWO errors that Avis made. And the folks answering Avis customer service line are not pleasant.

Overall a good experience and in general the Avis car's deliver a good drive and service with most parts in good locations. I still can't understand why Avis needs to charge extra for me to use Apple Car Play, something that is safe and helps the driver.It was although disappointing that when we took the service bus to the terminals we informed the lady driver which airline and she said for Philippines Airlines it was in a separate terminal, but she would let us know. We arrived and she called out Delta, Air Mexico and Philippines. We got off and walked into the terminal, but of course could not locate the desk and asked a person, who explained it was in the next door building or a 5 min walk....so off we walked with our suitcases in tow! Why the driver would not have just stopped outside the terminal or even said where to go left us bemused and frustrated or also for Avis a bad moment of truth, something so simple that now left us with a negative review! Hopefully AVIS can talk to the lady and explain what to do in the future!Cheers

They don't have a key drop so unless your needs for a car pickup and dropoff fall within a very narrow window, don't go here. There's a reason they have cars if nobody else does. Changing your dropoff location might be quoted at $50 on the website but it won't actually apply. If you ask them on the phone they tell you it'll cost an extra week of your rental and in person it'll be an extra $300. No thanks. Plus, the car was a joke - they gave me a Ford EcoSport that couldn't make it to highway speed (70-75) unless you dropped 2 or 3 gears or floored it in automatic, and even then it was slow. I will avoid Avis in general after this.
