September 2024 by Larry Galey
Writing this review gives me no pleasure. Indeed there are other things I need to do in my busy personal life. I’ve wrestled with myself for five months and I’ve talked myself out of it several times. Today, I came to grips with the fact that not writing this review would be the “wrong” thing to do. I do this only for the sake of others.
The property was in the Poplar Estates area of Germantown, constructed in the mid 70’s.
After my mother passed away in late 2023, Todd Stricklin was recommended to us as a person who could do an estate sale to dispose of her leftover property. The objective was an empty house ready to sell. Todd indicated that this was what we would get. In early conversations with Todd that he indicated that he would:
hold a sale at the property
Remove anything that didn’t sell to be sold at other locations.
Leave us with an empty house ready to sell.
Item 1 did in fact happen, a sale did indeed happen on 13 & 14 April 2024, and we received some money from it.
Todd removed some of the nicer items that didn’t sell, supposedly to sell at other locations, but we are 5 months past that and no other money has been sent to us for those items. He left everything else.
Unsold items were not removed . In short the house was NOT empty nor ready for sale as promised. We initially thought he would have to schedule his crew to pick up the items. So giving him the benefit of the double, we contacted Todd about this via text message, his response was quick, “We have been done”.
This caused us undue expense and a delay in selling this house.
My sister clued me in on exactly how things went since she had most of the personal dealings with Todd. Much of you will now read I was not initially aware of until after the fact.
Todd was negatively impressed when he first visited the property and made it a point to say that he normally didn’t do estates like this one, (indicating my dear ol Moms house) but since the referral came from the right person that he was going to do it. Mom was not wealthy but her things were nice.
During the sale, Todd was constantly texting with messages like:
I’ve never seen such cheap folks in my life:
Hahaha
I mean they are bad!
It’s very bad
This may have been the worst sale in the history of my company.
I will actually lose money.
There were others but I think you get the point.
I am sorry that Todd didn’t make any money, if that is indeed the case. Todd Strickln did not do as he promised and in my opinion did not conduct himself in an ethical or forthright manner.
I would have respected Todd more if he had done one of the following things.
Turned down the opportunity for whatever reason he chose. We could have used another agency etc.
Telling us up front that he was losing money and try to see if something could be worked out. We would have been disappointed but would have known what we were facing instead of the surprise discovery that the house wasn’t empty and Todd had abandoned the job without notification.
Based on my experience with Todd & Company, Todd’s lacks in ethics and business acumen.
My advice is to avoid him at all costs. And for any who have fallen prey in the interim, my sincere apologies.

My wife and I wanted to purchase a special piece of jewelry and had a specific budget. I wanted a gold bracelet. It was a special gift for a family member. Before going into Todd & Company I visited 2 other reputable jewelry stores and left disappointed on many levels. When we arrived at Todd & Company (it was the day Hurricane Hilary hit so we were also in a hurry to get home) we were greeted by a lovely woman by the name of SHANNON. She was amazing… put our mind at ease immediately and was patient, helpful and kind. She took the time to show and explain all the possibilities within the budget for that specific gift. We found the perfect 18k gold bracelet. I also ended up buying another item that I love from there. Ask for Shannon. I recommend this store in Palm Desert. Their selection is beautiful and the prices are fair.

I had the most wonderful experience with Todd & Company. I fell in love with a custom ring that was 18k & 2 carats of diamonds. It's exquisite! And Todd worked within my budget & gave me the deal of a lifetime! Thank you so much, Todd & Company!

Thoroughly impressed with this store. The ladies at the counter were incredibly sweet, the store is gorgeous and the selections are amazing. The owners custom pieces are out of this world I'm obsessed. Absolutely will be coming here again when I'm back in town.

Was just passing through town and wanted to find a unique jewelry store... this exceeded my expectations. The staff was so friendly helpful and accommodating. Tons of incredible options from vintage to modern designs. Even custom-made pieces available... highly recommend it. FYI he's right behind Tiffany and Company

Spectacular vintage and estate pieces! I spotted a ring that looked just like a ring a friend of mine had lost when her home was broken into. Pia took excellent care of me, had the ring cleaned up, and off I went. Great service, reasonable prices, gorgeous pieces. Thank you Pia!

I picked out a lovely solitaire diamond necklace and gave my husband a little "hint" that I found something I really liked...after all it was our ONE year anniversary. Todd, Lisette and Shannon were extremely pleasant and professional. I let them know I may be sending in my husband if he takes the bait - LOL. My husband reported back that the team was super friendly and he had a lot of fun in the store. PLUS, the prices are very reasonable and the inventory is absolutely BEAUTIFUL -- something for everyone :). I highly recommend popping in and supporting this new local business.
