I shop at Lowes in La Quinta all the time-have spent many thousands of dollars in the past few years on building supplies and appliances during the course of renovating two homes. Be warned about purchasing any appliance warranty at Lowes, though! One year old Bosche DW stopped working. Incredibly, I had purchases a warranty, which I usually do not do. I opened a warranty claim; repair co kept coming over a two plus month period and replaced everything that could be replaced-to no avail. They wanted to start over again, but we did not agree to that-TWO months without a dishwasher, and then facing maybe another TWO MONTHS doing dishes Wilma Flintstone style while they continued to work on it? No. We had to buy another DW, and now I am being told that because appliance repair co would not state that the DW was un-fixable, the warranty is no good.

I'm a Home Depot kinda person myself, but I was helping a family member who lives in the area do some house fixings and Lowe's was closer to us than the HD a few miles further away.

Dear Mr. Ellison, my apologies for contacting you but I feel it is a necessity. On 01/10/24 we purchased a Smith Signature 100 50 gallon water heater at your Palm Desert, CA store. We scheduled our installer for 01/28/24. After opening the box the Installer said this is not a new WH. It was a Smith pro-max Dated 2006. We packed up everything and went back to the Palm Desert, CA store. We were not greeted nicely nor did we feel welcome. We had to explain to a few people. The manager basically accused us switch saying he had video of us leaving with a sealed box. I argued with him and asked how? He saw a white sticker which is attached and put in the number and stated that we purchased it in La Quinta but he was puzzled why our receipt was Palm Desert. The one we bought was purchased in la Quinta yet showed up to be sold again in Palm Desert. He told us he contacted the fraud department. We asked to see the video of us and the other purchase, he refused and said we could not. I said you can accuse us and now when it possibly concerns one of your employees taking a old tank and putting it out as new. The bottom of the box had been sealed back with a glue gun. He refused any other help told us to take the 2006 tank and leave. He said the Fraud department will call you tomorrow(01/29/24).No one has called. Rather than pay our installer again, we went to Home Depot and bought another water heater. I have pictures of our old and the 2006 water heater we bought from Lowes. Can’t believe we were treated badly by your mistake and then when it turns out there may be fraud on an employee of yours part, yet there is no apology. The credit card company said they will ask for all the records and videos. We have been Lowes customers for over 20 years now, never treated so badly. This will also reflect on the Yelp review, the NALC web and Facebook pages. Thank you for your time. Charles Bonner --- --- ----

Lowes #2583 has the best employees. They went out of their way to find items that I was looking that I was unable to find for myself. Also very happy and friendly.

I was supposedly helped by a Lowe's, associate, Daisy, at Lowe's in Palm Desert to purchase new blackout shades for my bedroom and bathroom. The method by which these shades works was not explained to me at all, and as a result, the shades that were delivered need a ladder to operate if they are to be raised up and down. Given my advanced age, that that would definitely be an accident waiting to happen. When measurements were taken for my bathroom, it should have been explained to me the only way that a blackout shade would work would be with a remote control. That is unless I really love the idea of climbing on a ladder. I sent an email to customer service and copy to the store manager in Palm Desert explaining my predicament and never heard back from either. I was told in the beginning, by two different people, that Lowe's would definitely take care of this, as they realized it is a hazard. After two months of discussing this with Lowe's, and dozens of phone calls later, they gave me the option of keeping what I had or buying at full price, new shades even though the shades that I originally purchased were on sale. They were condescending, unhelpful and kept saying they would call back, and never did. A terrible nightmare. But I suggest if you need shades for your home, go elsewhere, because Lowe's is not standing behind their customer service or their product and has no clue of how to advise someone on the proper product. More than $1000 down than a drain. Had the person measuring the windows, or the person who sold me the product explained to me how they were going to work in my area, I would never have followed through with this order. Do not, do not under any circumstances rely on Lowe's if you want any help at all. They will take your money and leave you hanging. Finally, the installer who put the shades in the bathroom unplugged, my heart monitor so that he could plug in his cell phone to charge. He did this without my knowledge or permission! Disgraceful ! It's a Lowe's, like my Walmart review. Same as any other Lowe's. Service is disappointing. No one knows where anything is in the store. We were told to go to the opposite end of the store for RV related products. When we got there and there was no RV area we asked and was sent back to where we started. Still no RV or solutions. It did help me get my steps in for the day but that's not why I went to Lowe's. Service is what made Lowe's better than the comp but no longer is that true.

It was the Christmas Shopping season and I was dead dog tired from running from store to store preparing for the holidays. I passed by this Lowes and decided to make it the last stop of the day. With the last bit of energy I possessed, I dragged myself into the store and got the merchandise I needed. I was not at all feeling jolly and just wanted to get home. When I got to the self checkout, which I HATE, I was warmly greeted by Yarilin. Her smile was so genuine and her voice so soothing, I could not help smiling back. We exchanged some pleasant talk as I rang up my sale, and my mood signigicantly improved. After dealing with nasty shoppers, rude sales staff and hearing "Carol of the Bells" for the 19th time, it was such a pleasant surprise to encounter a real caring person!Well done Yarilin!!

My goodness. When did these employees choose not to work. Back in my day you worked. Went in to buy lumber to build a fence. The man would not cut my lumber. It was to build my mother a small fence. He complained that he could only cut the lumber into 2 pieces. It wasn't busy. I was the only one in there. He said only could cut into more pieces if it was the same measurements. I told him it was his lucky day. That it was all the same. Then he got very upset and rolled his eyes then . At that point I just left decided to go to a different store to get my lumber. Obviously this guy rather be on his phone than help patrons such a sad world we live in today.

Great selection a step above what you'll find at the other big store, but prices are usually higher.Nice entrance and bathrooms, which are handicapped accessible. Large parking lot. Suitable for trucks with trailers. Though never enough pull through spots.

Horrible customer service. The manger Jasmine is very rude. Just avoid this business. There is a Home Depot 2 blocks away.
