Ok. May sound strange. Come here with family. I’m f a couple. Too many “weird people “ who either are pretending they are rich or looking for people with an open relationship. Not my scene. I was taken a back. And won’t come here again.

Visually stunning! I have never stayed but visit regularly. The pool area is gorgeous! Have boat rides around the lake.
An arcade the kids love!

Beautiful resort, but my main concerns were the rooms and handicap accessibility.
The rooms are out dated compared to the resort as a whole. The shower leaked, we had unnecessary tables that made our room cluttered, and the TV blocked the view of the mountains.
Handicap Accessibility:
There were handicap stickers on every door but none of them were automatic except the front door to the building. We did find an automatic door in a hallway but it didn't work.
The resort restaurants were expensive and ok. The only restaurant I would recommend is the Rockwood Grill buffet breakfast.
They do have full functioning Starbucks, which is great!

Loved the hotel. We stayed a weekend in October with my 8 year old daughter. The hospitality for my child was amazing.

We had an amazing stay at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort, primarily for tennis, and it exceeded all expectations. The resort is spectacular, very well-maintained, and has an upscale feel.
Our room overlooked a beautiful lake with black swans, ducks, geese, and fish—a serene view to wake up to each morning.
The highlight for us was the tennis center, where we attended the morning clinics focused on volleys, doubles, and groundstrokes. The instructors (Jim Leupold and Evan) were fantastic, and we learned so much that our game has noticeably improved.
The weather was perfect, and we loved the entire experience. We’re already planning our return.
Five stars!
Rooms: Our room at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort was fantastic—located at the far end of the resort, offering complete privacy and a stunning view of the lake, golf course, and sunsets over the mountains. The private balcony felt secluded, with no nearby rooms visible, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the resort’s wildlife and peaceful surroundings. Inside, the room was modern and spacious, featuring a king bed, pullout couch, full soaking tub, and a sleek shower. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere, the in-room safe, and the empty refrigerator, which we could stock with our own items. Overall, it was a perfect blend of luxury and comfort.
Walkability: The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort is quite large, and initially, navigating it can feel a bit daunting, especially when moving between the lobby, parking garage, and room. The layout involves some elevation changes, and the routes may seem confusing at first. However, after a day, we quickly learned the best paths, making it easy to get around. The pool is centrally located and easily accessible from all areas of the resort. While walking is required due to the resort’s size, it becomes manageable once you understand the layout. I highly recommend using a bellman to help with luggage, as distances can be longer than expected.
Food and drinks: The dining options at JW Marriott Desert Springs were fantastic. We enjoyed a delicious salmon dinner at Rockwood Grill, which overlooks the lake—a great spot to relax with a full bar showing the Major League Baseball playoffs. We also dined at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, where the teppanyaki-style cooking experience was fun and the food was excellent. It’s perfect for a family-style meal. The poolside bar was another highlight, with an amazing mango margarita, and it was easy to find a spot by the pool. Highly recommend the food and drink offerings!
Noteworthy details: The tennis center at JW Marriott Desert Springs is top-notch—well-maintained with plenty of tennis courts, some with lights, and numerous Pickleball courts. The courts were uncrowded, making it easy to get court time in addition to the fantastic clinics. It’s just a short walk from the resort, adding to the overall convenience. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are a bit too small if you have kids. The hotel is also quite old and the rooms show it. The service is excellent and fast.
