“Dr.Ilana is amazing. She is the dog whisperer of the bay area for SURE! This is our 2nd time needing her expert help and guidance. The 1 st time - my very active labradoodle dislocated his ankle and was put in a cast for 6 weeks - by an Orthopedist - when we arrived at A Well Adjusted Pets - Charlie was happy to be there - he is a crazy labradoodle with way too much energy for an older dog - but the care and expertise that Dr.Ilana gives is unequalled anywhere else. With e-stim to bring back the muscle tone that he had lost and walking in the water treadmill he re - habbed super fast. Dr. Ilana has healing hands. Charlie has now dislocated his knee on his good back leg - so is getting used to wearing 2 braces - which in two weeks he has fully navigated with Dr. Ilana's help. I don't know where we would be without her help - luckily for us we do have pet insurance which has surely helped with the cost. The vet there has even called me on a Sunday to relay test results. Extremely thorough but they don't upsell you at all or apply any pressure - just give you options and clear estimates. I have been so pleased.”

“NOT TAKING NEW PATIENTS RIGHT NOW--Our elderly dog had congestive heart failure, and they gave her the help that she needed. Dr. Grossbard is an expert and compassionate doctor, and he was willing to work with us to reduce our bill when we were on a limited budget. Our dog's life was extended a little longer because of him.

When I wanted to bring our other dog to get care here, I found that they are not taking new patients. But this policy may change at some point, so I recommend that you bring your pets here if you have the opportunity.”

“Thank you so much for being able to see my dog last minute. I was panicking because Muffin, my 13-year-old blind senior chiweenie, was squinting and seemed to be in pain in one eye. On Friday night I couldn’t find any hospital available for Saturday (and I really didn’t want to go to the ER and pay so much since I can’t afford it).

Banfield has clinics around the Bay Area, and the one in Pacifica had availability on Saturday morning—AMAZING. I checked in online, sent all of Muffin’s records by email the night before, and in the morning Dr. Tam had already reviewed everything, including Muffin’s blood test results and previous diagnosis.

She ran eye tests on both eyes and discovered that the original diagnosis was wrong—Muffin did not have glaucoma. She’s blind due to cataracts, but not glaucoma. That meant I had been giving her the wrong medication/eye drops. The squinting was actually due to an ulcer, likely caused by bumping into something or from debris getting in her eye, which led to an infection.

Dr. Tam prescribed a strong antibiotic, and just one week later Muffin has fully recovered—no more squinting! I’m so grateful for Banfield, for modern medicine, and especially for getting a second opinion.”
