I had been avoiding this Safeway after many locals have complained about a variety of problems- But just needed to grab a couple items... The shopping experience was fine, but things went wrong at the checkout. While serving the person ahead of me, cashier stepped out of his lane and sneezed largely and without covering his face in the lane behind him. Gross. Does no one cover their faces when they sneeze anymore? When it was my turn, he did it again! I kept my distance and spoke to Tygarjas Bigstyck who I believe is the manager. When I asked if he would ask his employee to cover up when sneezing, his reply was "And I might as well ask a bear not to shit in the woods." Wow. I was too surprised to reply, but instead have filed a complaint with the County Health Department and am sharing here. Try the Safeway on top of Hickey Blvd. instead.

Things are worse than ever. The "cosmetic upgrades" thing where they're trying to look more like Whole Foods makes everything they lack stick out like a sore thumb. Still shopping there, cause it's the closest thing to me, but god I hate it.

This is my neighborhood store. I've been shopping here for the last 20 years and on DEC 5Th around 11pm it was the first time I've been followed all over the store from the manager at the linda mar Safeway her name is Mary (she's new manager) I felt very uncomfortable i don't think I will ever shop at this store again and when I asked her about her name she said it was latica (she was laying)so the day after in the 6th I went there one more time to give the store another chance and I was also followed again by here!!!Is that her job to follow customer's around !!!Store management should take some action!!!I was told she always does this when she suspects a shoplifters!Isn't the Safeway policy not to follow shoplifters?! And I'm a customer!!!!!Store manager ( you can look on the CCTV on December 5th at 10:55PM how I was followed)Hopefully some action will be taken

It was truly an experience visiting this store earlier this week. I picked up a few items at another grocery store but I forgot a few items so I came her with my niece. I needed to get produce and other items. Immediately, I noticed how dirty the floor was in the produce area and I attempted to find fresh produce but I was unsuccessful. I did not want to approach anyone in the product dept as they appeared very unhappy. I then proceeded to pick up a few spices. Once again I was unsuccessful as this store was out of paprika. My niece had the only success when she was able to find her favorite candy bar. Indeed 20 minutes for a candy bar. When we proceeded to the check stand to pay, we noticed the check stand lines were long. Therefore, we went to the self checker. The male employee there appeared very upset and agitated with another employee. I did not catch this male employee's name but he was middle aged and had a beard. It is rather disheartening that a store can be staffed with unprofessional individuals.

I was just about to have milk that I got from Safeway i was about to drink it and it tasted really bad so I just threw it out. There's something not right with their refrigerator because milk can't just go bad that fast and don't ask the deli workers to to slice the lunch meat because they just take forever to do it. I don't see any managers their where are they?

Once again same complaint, advertise free stuff on app and the item is never there. How can you sell out of free items within a few hours of posting. This has happened every time they advertise free items. Just a gimmick to get you in the store.

While enjoying the great beach weather this past week, my daughter and I were in this store My daughter went to get frozen yogurt while I shopped for other items. I noticed a strange man lurking near her while she shopped. When another woman saw this man lurking at my daughter, this odd man became embarrassed and quickly looked away. Since my daughter attends Terra Nova, she mentioned there are very rude and odd employees at this store. One our way out, I asked a store employee who this employee is and they told me his name is dave. This store should understand who they hire as there are high school children shopping in this store.

I'm only giving two stars to be nice. This is about the Starbucks kiosk inside. There was only one person in front of me who order a single drink. The lady working was an older lady, so I was being patient. However, after waiting 7 minutes for her to make his drink then started doing other things knowing I was standing there waiting, she proceeded to take her time. So I walked out and took my business to the bigger Starbucks that's just across the parking lot. As a past barista myself, when customers are waiting, you need to move with a purpose. I saw zero effort. So if you're wanting a coffee, don't waste your time going here. Just go into the other Starbucks.

The girl at the register was rather infuriating. I am not a fan of her attitude, she kept playing games that she will not win. Super offensive.

I just don't understand how this store is stocked like late 2020, in 2023. They will be out or very easy to find items for weeks or months at a time. Shelves are always emptier than any other store in the area. If it wasn't for weekend tourist business they would have gone our business long ago.

Where to start, if there is a manager on site, then this person is awol. There are long lines and long waits. Not only do you have self check out to make customers do the job the employees are supposed to be doing but now I see that there are NO baggers. You want us to bag our groceries to? All the while, you have employees just mingling about. The store is dirty, people walking around with dogs in there cart, Employees talking about their tatoos rather than working, customer service hiding in there office so they don't have to deal with said customers, guess what, we know you have a 2 way mirror. Unkempt employees who can't seem to look presentable ie; a hair cut and a trim. The so called manager can't seem to pull this one off, looks dirty. I believe he is called tiger? The jokes on us though, not much we can do about it since this is where the food is. At the very least, tighten up. You all come across as very UNPROFESSIONAL. And don't get me strarted on the guy who has tatoos accross his head. How is it that he feels a need to give out 8 bags with just a couple of items in each bag. Do I ge charged for this? Every time it's always something different, never a good experience.

Where is the management? Where is the training? I'm finally done with Safeway in Linda Mar. It used to be a friendly, helpful store. I usually try to avoid the checker with the head tattoos because he can be pretty obnoxious. I couldn't today because he was the only one working.He was talking and laughing with the woman ahead of me and the people behind me, and I thought...wow! He has really changed. Maybe his life is happier.Then I realized they were all friends and relatives. When it was my turn at the register his old personality was back. Glaring, talking in monosyllables, and acting very abrupt. When I asked him a question he looked me in the eye, rolled his eyes, and turned his head away. Now that I know he is capable of being courteous but chooses not to I have to assume this is just fine with Safeway. I will be going to the independent market up the highway and pay a bit more. Surely I can't be the only one who has had it with him.

I like this Safeway. It tends to have better parking and shorter lines. Otherwise a bit unremarkable as Safeways tend to be. More visits than not i found them to be out of some items I was looking for but on balance - still a good store that i will no doubt visit if im in the area.

Never enough checkers. Lon lines. Regularly out of stock on random items. I dread visiting this store.
