I will describe my experience through the email that I wrote them that they never responded to after they never called me back: I want to reach out about your ethics. I just read your mission statement and if it is true it is fantastic. You believe in "Compassion, Dignity, Justice, Excellence, Integrity. " I am all on board for this. Further you state, "At Providence, we use our voice to advocate for vulnerable populations and needed reforms in health care. We are also pursuing innovative ways to transform health care by keeping people healthy, and making our services more convenient, accessible and affordable for all. In an increasingly uncertain world, we are committed to high-quality, compassionate health care for everyone - regardless of coverage or ability to pay. We help people and communities benefit from the best health care model for the future - today." Right on so far as I am concerned. But you do not inhabit this. So far as I am concerned this is a lie given how your staff have behaved. In February, I went to one of your physicians and was made to wait 45 minutes, I came out and asked about the wait but was dismissed. If I was 45 minutes later for my job, I would be fired. This is not the first time that one of your doctors has been 45 minutes for an appointment with me. When the doctor finally condescended to showing up, I was drastically overcharged because I dared to ask three questions. I kept getting a bill for this and every month explained and every month was basically told to go suck an egg. None of this exhibited your supposed philosophy. So I am assuming that hypocrisy and lying are a much more prominent philosophy than "compassion, dignity, justice, excellence, and integrity." I have seen none of this. Further, when my father was having transitional global amnesia, even though the doctors were there, they refused to see him. How is that " advocate for vulnerable populations and needed reforms in health care. We are also pursuing innovative ways to transform health care by keeping people healthy, and making our services more convenient, accessible and affordable for all. In an increasingly uncertain world, we are committed to high-quality, compassionate health care for everyone - regardless of coverage or ability to pay?" Is it laziness and fear of insurance. Finally, a month ago, this same doctor's office reached out to me to come in for a physical (what a strange thing to do during COVID) and I told them my previous experience. The woman asked if I would like to speak to her manager. I said yes. A month later, she still hasn't called. I find it funny, that every month I got contacted to pay a bill, but not to make sure that a customer/patient is being well taken care of by your system. I guess that, " advocate for vulnerable populations and needed reforms in health care. We are also pursuing innovative ways to transform health care by keeping people healthy, and making our services more convenient, accessible and affordable for all. In an increasingly uncertain world, we are committed to high-quality, compassionate health care for everyone - regardless of coverage or ability to pay." are just words. I am disgusted by your practice and lack of ethics. I plan on switching to a doctor and health care system that cares about patients, is not just grubbing for money, knows how to tell time, and does not lie about its mission statement!
