Love this yoga studio! I feel like it's one of the best in the city! It's clean, and you don't have to worry about bringing a yoga mat or towel. They have thought of everything to make your experience comfortable, from the hair ties, lip balm, yoga blocks, and clips to keep your yoga mat in place. The room is heated, lit by candles, and sometimes has incense burning. Each class has slightly different postures and sequences, but I get a great workout each time. It's a fast flow and gets your heart rate beating.

Although I'm in NYS I got an introductory series at Goorus because my niece teaches kundalini yoga and meditation there and I wanted to take her classes. Since the package allowed me to take as many classes as I wanted I sampled many different teachers, all excellent in their separate ways. I ended up a student of Wendy Shubin, who teaches Spinal Therapy there five days a week, in addition to my niece Harisimran's classes. They are both fabulous. Finding the studio has made all the difference to my COVID lockdown. Wendy manages to give more feedback in a Zoom session than any teacher I've had in an in-person class. Harisimran is compassionate and nurturing. All in all, a great and (for me) lucky find.

Goorus' Nichola Dunne is GREAT! Nichola is careful to not cause strain or stress to your body while pushing students to their highest potential. (Ask me about her "planks"!) I strongly recommend that you try one of her yoga sessions to sample Urban Zen and/or her regular yoga classes. My husband says Nichola leaves me "serene" and my doctor says that my bone strength has improved. She is a winning combination of skill and care. Nichola enables me to get a real work out without endangering my body.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this studio. Truly. It is such a great space with a wonderful collection of skilled teachers. Class sizes are small and intimate with a lot of personal attention. The teachers really care about each student in the class. There is a wonderful sense of local community in each class setting. It's also terrific that there is a very nice variety of classes offered. They offer classes for all skill levels and capabilities including chair yoga for seniors or those with injuries. John, the owner is so very helpful. So grateful to have this lovely healing space to pop into throughout the week. I have the unlimited class package. I would highly recommend it. Do something healthy and kind for yourself!

This is such a beautiful studio with amazing teachers and just this incredible energy. The owner is a longtime Palisadian and often has Yoga Gives Back or other events to support the community and our world. I love so many of the instructors' teaching styles and presence, but my favorite is Amit Heri, who is now doing a 6:30am class MWF! Such a great way to start your morning!! Oh and also there is parking in the back too. :)

I walked into Goorus in the palisades and I knew instantly I was home! Its a beautiful studio, w/an unpretentious vibe. John , the owner is always lovely n pleasant n smiling when you walk in. They have classes for everyone! Personally, Al Tavera is my fav, he's truly a brilliant yoga instructor. Seamless transitions, incredible sequencing. Your nervous system will thank you. Check out Goorus Yoga you'll be so glad you did.

Goorus is possibly the best yoga studio I’ve had the good fortune of practicing in. The owner, John, is a kind and compassionate human and is focused on bringing the healing benefits of yoga to the local community and beyond. The classes are all very different and each has something unique to offer. The teachers and gurus clearly care about their work and are committed to sharing the healing power of yoga, spiritual and physical, with their students. The community of yogis that practice at Goorus is strong, vibrant, and rooted in connection. Goorus is an extremely grounding space and is the kind of place that gets you excited to come to your practice. I’ve experienced profound transformation in the short time I’ve been practicing at Goorus and am looking forward to coming back! Thanks John and everyone at Goorus!

This is by far the best (and I think the only) yoga studio in Pacific Palisades. There are variety of classes on the schedule, and the studio itself is beautiful - huge with hardwood floors and natural lighting. Parking is pretty convenient - on the street nearby, and it's also really close (1/2 a block away) to the new Palisades Village shopping center. This is a great place for people who are beginners to people who are serious about their yoga practice. Love this studio!

My wife and I love Goorus! It's a smaller and more personal studio, and doesn't have the institutional or competitive feel of many local studios. We felt instantly welcomed by the staff, instructors and our fellow yogis. Goorus has 2 studio; one small and one larger. The largest class we've taken had at most 25 people...small enough to stay intimate. There's also a nice variety of classes. A few parking spaces are available behind the building. Goorus feels like home! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

Goorus is welcoming to visitors as well as locals. I've attended yoga here since it opened about a year ago in the same location as the previous corporate studio. Goorus reminds of the saying 'where everybody knows your name'. It's small, friendly and personable. Goorus is a beautiful studio with 2 rooms (small and a large). They offer all levels and styles of yoga practice. Goorus is welcoming to the total newcomers as well as those experienced practitioners. So Not intimidating like some studios. It has group and private lesson available. About as friendly as it gets. Relaxing and supportive. Goorus is a great place to start or your practice. It's so good to have a locally owned neighborhood studio.

Wonderful experience with great teachers. The studio design provides light and space enhancing the yoga experience. Gretchen and John provide a warm welcoming touch not found in corporate studios. Individualized instruction and help even in a class settings. A great asset to the Palisades.
