One of the nicest grocery stores I've been in, especially considering how close it is to a high school. This place has a sushi bar with hand rolls, Wolfgang Puck pizza by the slice, an amazing hot & cold deli, a poké bar with fresh fish, a gorgeous produce section and a selection of Uber-healthy stuff I would never buy such as probiotic cashew milk yogurt. Well done Gelsons!

P. Palisades is always a clean, well-organized store, with helpful, friendly, capable employees. Yesterday I got to say 'hello' to a team member who has worked for Gelson's for over 20 years (who I haven't seen in a LONG time)! I don't know why that made me happy -- perhaps because he seemed happy, talked about his longevity with the company with pride, which reaffirms that Gelson's is a good employer. But I already knew that. 30+years ago, my husband and I lived in Studio City and shopped at the local Gelson's. One of the checkout workers was also pregnant and we compared 'progress' notes whenever I went in. She was a single mom and was excitedly expecting this new baby with her new husband. It was a happy time and a nice way to bond - the way women who don't even know each other will often do. One day I went to pick up groceries and everyone who worked there was looking sad -- turns out my friend had been killed in a car accident the night before on her way home. One of the members of the Gelson Family was on site, offering condolences and support, genuinely trying to ease the pain the rest of the team was experiencing. A fund (pre-'Go Fund Me') had been established to collect donations that the company would also match. I remember feeling devastated, but also very impressed by those gestures. Seeing that team member in P. Palisades brought back those memories, and maybe the reflective nostalgia inspired by New Year's Eve made me willing to share them!

This is a great Gelson's and all of the employees are really friendly with exception of one. I thought that maybe the first time she was rude she was having a bad day. But then she was rude the next two times. She bags groceries. My first encounter with her she asked if I wanted paper or plastic, and I said paper. She started double bagging them and I simple told her that she could just use a single bag and I didn't need it doubled. Then she rudely snapped back that the bags would be too heavy and I said it was okay I can pick the bags up from the bottom and didn't want to waste extra bags. She then rolled her eyes at me and started stuffing my bags aggressively. Then the second encounter I said paper please but single bag is fine. And again she rolled her eyes and looked so annoyed that I didn't want a double bag. Then the third time she asked paper or plastic and I said paper, but single bag paper is fine. Then she gave me a look and asked even if it's too heavy? I said yes I can pick it up from the bottom. Then she had such a bad attitude. I put an item in one of the bags and she gave me dagger eyes. She seems miserable in her job and perhaps she should look for something she enjoys doing.

The $26 apple pie from the bakery was awful.I also bought a box of grapes. There must have been about 20 loose grapes in the bottom of the box. That means that they were packed loose and didn't fall off the vine in transit. And grapes for $4.99 a pound doesn't work compared with Ralphs where a 3 pound box is $7.99 and there was only ONE grape off the vine. I've been a customer for over 40 years and this is unacceptable.

I increasingly find myself having to shop at Ralph’s more and more.Your prices on basic goods and items are entering a no-go zone.I will not pay $4 more for an item that I can walk three minutes away and purchase for an honest price.

High quality products, clean store, helpful people on the floor and the check out people seem a bit better/nicer, than last time I was there. Hopefully it’s a trend.

This has been my local grocery store since I was a child. It's always great. Today, I was looking for a very specific beer for a recipe. Gelson's had it when other stores didn't.

Such a broad variety of choices, from fresh produce to boxed items, to fresh fish & meats, beautiful floral bouquets, and most of all, the friendliness and helpfulness of your staff.

I compare my visit to Gelsons to CVS where I stopped just before I came to Gelsons. Gelsons is like a harbor in an ocean of "do it yourself" markets that are becoming more and more a part of life. In CVS I had to check myself out and when the check out computer did not work, a young employee just pressed a button on my machine and a few of the other machines and then just walked away. I said, It's still not working, etc. Now, compare this to Gelsons and the helpfulness and the smiles and no self-checkout to be seen. Please congratulate your management and your employees for a job well done. -- and don't every loss what you have.

I've shopped here for a couple decades. Always enjoy the experience and positive employees. However, they removed the delicious GRILLED TOFU from the salad bar. That's why I drove 25 minutes one way to shop here weekly -- the salad bar with grilled tofu. As a vegan, I appreciated this option and it's been gone for weeks. When I called there a couple days ago, they said it's no longer a staple in the salad bar options and I should drive to the Santa Moinica store 40 minutes from my home. PLEASE bring back the grilled tofu in the PP store to accommodate vegans who can't eat beans -- as it's an excellent protein source for us. Thanks. Then I'll go back to 5 stars. (-_-)
