This place I'd a complete rip off...first had to wait 2.5 hours after check in because our room had not been clean or inspected...we asked to be refunded front desk staff refused to refund us....once in the room it was old and not updated...we went to dinner and upon our return to freshin up before going out for the night we discovered there was no water...front desk staff were rude and only recourse was for us to be patient...for the price we paid the room this was unexpectable...check out took over an hour waiting in line to receive our bill...there is no rating below one they deserve to be given a below zero rating... this hotel was horrible and most definitely earned this review...UNEXPECTABLE

Tides is a wonderful place to discover beautiful seashore items in a very welcoming atmosphere. The ocean-themed merchandise is carefully selected by charming and friendly store owner, Barby Deane. This shop relocated in 2017 from Lighthouse to 216 Forest Avenue, just a few blocks away and WELL worth rediscovering. It's a perfect place to stop while enjoying an afternoon stroll through Pacific Grove. ENJOY!!

This place is gem of an unique gift shop! With an inviting interior and its coastal theme, it is chock full of unique, reasonably priced items. I never fail to find that perfect gift for friends, family, grandkids and that special baby gift as well. Tides is beautiful little shop with a most friendly owner.. Don't miss it!

I have long loved the Tides gift shop going back to the days when it was on Lighthouse Avenue. (I wrote a Yelp review then, but it seems it didn't move over to the new address!) The owner's excellent sense of style is clearly evident at the new location. Plus, I always enjoy a friendly conversation with her. Even if I am not looking for beach-themed items, I usually find something here that strikes my fancy. I rarely leave the store empty-handed. If you enjoy having souvenirs from the Pacific Grove/Monterey area that don't shout "tourist," here is the place to shop. My only complaint is that the Tides has sometimes been closed when I have tried to shop there. That is disappointing as I only visit Pacific Grove a few times a year.

A charming home style shop in this seaside town that recently moved from Lighthouse Avenue to Forrest avenue. It is just down the street from Grove Market. It is a very calm and soothing space filled with useful and decorative items suitable for a seaside home, for gifts or souvenirs to take home to remember your visit to Pacific Grove. I found a lovely cap on sale today and look forward to my next visit. A sweet find in this cozy town.
