My pomeranian dog that is only three and a half years old suffered from stones in his bladder and had to go get surgery the day of. I was shocked because I don't have any pet insurance and had to pay almost $4,000. Peace of mind dog rescue donated $300 while Max Helping Paws foundation donated $1,850. Wow! They are professional, timely, responsive, and kind hearted, my dog wouldn't have gone through the surgery and would have died that day or have even more serious medical complications because I would not have able to fully pay for the out of pocket medical costs. Thank you Max Helping Paws and peace of mind dog rescue for saving my dogs life. Let me know what I can do to help your foundation as much as you have helped me. Thank you...

I have a terminal illness and I have given Max orders to not leave me so I worried about his future. Since finding Peace of Mind Dog Rescue I am secure knowing Max will be just fine! If I can't walk him, am away for doctors appointments or like the good little dog he is and follows my orders because he does take such good care of me, he is in good, loving hands.

This was my first time adopting from Peace of Mind, previously adopting from other rescues, when I found Scooby, now Samwise on Petfinder. The whole process of adopting was great! Good people and they were able to work with me adopting from Washington State. Flew down and fell in love, felt supported by POMDR during the whole process of helping Sam settle into his new life in the PNW. Sam is a sweet, playful boy and we are very happy together. Senior dogs rock!!! #Adoptdontshop

POMDR does incredible work on the peninsula, helping people and dogs who need it. We got our best from POMDR and they were so helpful and caring the entire time. Their fosters are wonderful people and take wonderful care of the pups. I highly recommend getting your best friend from Peace of Mind and helping a senior dog out!

Hi I owned 3 chihuahuas. My first introduction to a chihuahua was when I did an open house in Salinas. She was playing in the street and I saw a truck heading her way . I ran out in the street in my heels and rescued her before any harm could happen. I loved that dog she had so much personality. I moved out of area, and i didn't know she was so sick. She died within a week after I left. Shortly after she died, I went to the local shelter and found a male chihuahua puppy. He is 9 now and so full of love and tricks. My newest member was a rescue, my neighbor's friend heard that someone had a puppy that was living in the hot garage. She fell and broke her leg. The owners didn't take her to vet instead they abandoned her. My neighbor knew I had a chihuahua and asked me if i wanted to take her, I said yes. This dog has so much energy and love. She keeps all my dogs in shape by chasing and playing with them. Someday I might have to make a decision to have her leg removed; not anytime soon.If you can adopt 2 chihuahuas, you won't regret it.

Peace of Mind Dog Rescue is the best rescue I have every worked with. I have fostered with them a number of times and each time they have promptly gotten them quality veterinary care. If you're looking for a rescue dog - check out all the cute ones in their program!

We found this group 10 years ago when we were looking for options to take our dogs when we can no longer care for them. They exceeded our expectations in caring, understanding and professional organization. We started volunteering with them too and watched how they provide great care for senior and special needs dogs who they place in great foster homes and then make good matches for forever homes with adopters. We now have 4 dogs that we adopted from them. This is a first class well run and compassionate group of people. They have in-house vet staff and every dog is given a thorough vet and behavior evaluation and each dog's needs are met. They provide total support for fosters and they have an extensive "Helping Paw" program with financial and other assistance for pet parents with financial or other needs (e.g. dog walking, temp fostering, etc.)

I started volunteering with POMRD as a dog walker, and now as a foster home. I am so impressed by the genuine dedication of the staff and volunteers at the organization. Their passion for providing a loving and safe environment for senior dogs was evident from the moment I started. They truly go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of these precious animals. They are dedicated to their mission, and anyone looking to volunteer with this organization cannot go wrong. If you are a senior human in need of support, don't hesitate to reach out to them.

Greatest organization. So much heart. It’s a beautiful win-win to help senior citizens have the peace of mind for the care of their pets and to give dogs - especially older ones - loving homes. We adopted our dog (Maxaroonie) from Peace of Mind a few years ago & he was the all-time greatest. I will always have so much gratitude and love for this organization.

Peace of Mind Dog Rescue is an incredible organization! Through extensive community involvement, quality management, and a large volunteer group, it makes a huge difference. It helps senior people who have dogs but need help in keeping them AND senior dogs that need support for whatever reason.

This is the best rescue organization. It's run tirelessly by earnest folks devoted to the cause of helping animals and seniors. They provide generous support to people in the community and have endless reserves of compassion for animals. We've fostered and adopted from them and really appreciate their work.
