Amazing service when you need a car serviced! I recommend this business, I don't live here anymore but when in town I have had work done , it's very good work and pretty fast. Very knowledgable Mechanic's.

Quite a few years ago I took my classic 1970 Mercedes to Mattesons for a service. I was extremely pleased. I've used another excellent Auto Shop in Mid Valley for years because it was convenient AND also top quality. I recently stopped by Mattesons shop with my older BMW sedan which has a couple of minor issues. Both times they right away looked into the issue I'd presented and found nothing wrong. My car is due for a Service and I'll go back to Mattesons or to Carmel Valley. I like the people at Mattesons a lot because they're customer and CAR-oriented. I've had some recent Negative experiences with other local shops and now I'm more discerning than ever. if you own and love a foreign car then these are the professionals to trust.

I have taken my Prius to Matteson's for about 3 years now. They have been honest & knowledgeable about my car's needs. I've had work done on the battery, brakes, headlights, fuel pump, tires, oil checks etc. There was an issue with my headlight/ ballast & they tried to fix it but weren't able to. They suggested taking it to the dealership, which I did & they fixed the issue. When I communicated this back to Matteson's, they offered to make it right on their end. They reimbursed me for the work done on my car!! (bc the issue wasn't fixed by them) I've never had an auto repair shop offer me money back; I really, really appreciated that! Mike is a great guy & wants to do right for his customers. He always explains things thoroughly & I truly feel they have my back. Thank you Matteson's for being honest & truly caring about your customers!!

I got a flat tire on my vacation and they were the closest to my hotel that we called and they told us to come in. Not only did the fix my tire very quickly but they saw my coolant was leaking and a bolt was loose and they fixed it on the spot no extra charge. While they were helping me the owner was taking to a guy about taking his battery back to Costco because it would save him money. Such a kind honest way of business you don't find anymore. Wish I lived closer because they would be my permanent shop.

My car has been starting up very sluggishly and I have been really on edge as to whether today will be the day that if finally gives up the ghost. I read great reviews about Matteson's and they are close to where I live so I decided to try them to see if they could fix the problem. Turns out it was an ignition switch problem and Mike and his team sure enough figured out a way around the "only Ford can fix it" and now it starts up like a dream. No more crossing my fingers or charging my crystals every time I get behind the wheel :) Everything about this place is top drawer. Christina at the front desk is a great listener and very kind. Mike even gave me a ride home when I dropped it off. They are all so professional. And guess what? They even saved me money! I couldn't be happier with Matteson's. So grateful to have a place to go where you don't feel like a "mark" as soon as you walk in the door.10 out of 10! Thank you Mike!

Had a check engine light come on. They scheduled me for a visit and we're very up front and fair about the pricing.He told me, it's a typical surcharge for an engine inspection. If we find it's something simple like a gasket, they'll charge just the parts.Unfortunately it was the engine thermostats, but they were able to get the parts in hand same day and get my car back to me by the end of the day.Fair valued, and great family oriented vibe from this shop. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Went in for an oil change and was pleasantly pleased by this mom and pop shop. The receptionist was very kind and even gave me a first time discount! Granted it was still pricey about $80 for an oil change and tire rotation but I shopped around and they were all around $100. Took about 2 hours and left my car exactly how it was. Will come again for future services!

We were on a trip to Monterey and our car had trouble starting. We drove it to Matteson's. They were extremely helpful and went above and beyond in trying to help us. Very kind and capable people. Would definitely recommend.

I came there today because I had something stuck in my tire (the car was making all kinds of noises and limping a little). It was late in the day and other auto shops were already closed. But Matteson's was open. I was warmly greeted and my car was looked at right away. I think the owner himself fixed my car because everyone else was busy. Plus, he saw that I was frazzled and talked me through what he was doing which was very reassuring and fun to watch. He also checked the pressure and pumped all my tires. I was having quite a day, but a visit to Matteson's made it all better. My car is back to running smoothly and noise-free! Thank you, Matteson's Auto Repair!

I had a great experience here! My car had a little signal light and they were able to check for problems and do diagnostics. There wasn't a problem, and I was not charged. I will definitely be coming back when I have a more serious problem!

On June 13 my wife and we on vacation driving up the coast on highway 1 we out alternator failed. We were just able to make it into Pacific Grove at a couple minutes before 5 PM. I looked up local shops with good ratings and called Matteson's, A extremely nice Lady answered my call and I explained our problem, she requested we have the car towed to the shop and said they would work with us in the morning. The next morning I called at 8 AM and talked with the owner, even though they had a full shop and one mechanic out sick they pulled our car in verified the problem called us, ordered the parts and fixed our car and we were on our way by 4 PM. This shop and team were wonderful, the owner even fixed a door alarm without charge we had been wrestling with. I highly recommend this business, great service and fair prices.

Recieved an oil change here 2 days ago and now I'm stranded on the side of the road with three kids. All the oil drained out of the car because they forget to put the plug back in.

Matteson's went above and beyond to repair my tail light when they discovered there was a problem with the fuse and not just the bulb. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and knowledgable. I went back today because my brake light went out and they replaced it immediately. So grateful for Matteson's!
