I expected better considering what I paid. The room looked worn, rust marks in the bathroom. Felt ripped off.

Had an amazing experience here. We stayed one night during a road trip and the sweet lady at the front desk was so helpful with recommendations in the area. Pacific Grove is a beautiful quiet area, and we were able to take a nice walk from the hotel to the beach to go tidepooling. The property is well taken care of, we wish we had more time in the area! My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower was very bad, but that’s pretty standard in small hotels unfortunately. Definitely recommend!
Walkability: Not a very walkable area, but there are sidewalks and it’s a quiet residential area so you can walk to the beach and then there’s plenty of trails along the coast from there.

We had a great stay here. The attendant was friendly, the parking was convenient and the location was great. The room was clean and we got one of the rooms on the end and it was quiet and peaceful. We stayed there on a Sunday and the price was reasonable. We paid $125 out the door for the night. I would stay there again.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this property. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub after a long day. It’s close to the coast, restaurants, and Monterey itself. If back in the area, we’d definitely stay here again. Being dog friendly was also a big perk!

Disappointing. We chose this place based on travel website ratings, price, pictures, and proximity to the aquarium. Somehow we got stuck with a dirty and dilapidated room. It was almost comical how the first set of sheets were stained and then the replacement sheets were ALSO stained. I could have let that go had I not felt a sticky floor under my shoes, seen a bug crawling on an outdated desk counter, and seen a corroded shower rod. It definitely did not pass the Anthony Melchiorri (dust) test. It just felt icky after that and I didn't feel comfortable having my little one stay in a room like that. They really should shut down that unit for renovations. We complained and got a better room (which also did not past the dust test), which was more spacious and a bit cleaner/updated. Plumbing is good, water gets hot quick. The area is mostly quiet but the walls are thin. I could hear people slamming their car doors late at night. It woke me up and I thought it was a gun shot. ? Towels are moderately soft. The bed was not supportive and pillows were flat. Woke up with hurt back and neck in the morning. The irony is that the original room had a HUGE (but musty) closet while the replacement room had half a closet (also dirty). They really need more consistency at this place, hopefully towards improvements.

Cute cottage style room. By far the best motel I've stayed in Monterey. Super quiet area.. you can also hear the waves from the beach. Loved the front of the room parking as well. I'm staying here next time I make another trip! Annette at the front desk was also very kind.
Nearby activities: 17 Mile Drive & close to the beach

I recently stayed at this hotel for just over a week, and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms are a great size, with pretty much all of the amenities you might need, everything is clean, and the Internet is a plus. It was really easy to get To and From this hotel; check in and check out was also really wonderful and smooth. Front desk staff were really knowledgable about the area and very friendly as well. It made my stay as a single person feel very safe and welcoming!
Walkability: This is more of a comment about the general Monterey area, but there are few sidewalks and even less street lamps. So if you are a pedestrian, it’s a little difficult to get around on foot, and it doesn’t always feel the safest. But, generally drivers are very aware of who is on the road even at night.

Room was clean however the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable! Couldn’t use them. Bring your own pillows!
Loud music was playing until 11pm and front desk was unavailable to help take care of it. I called twice with no answer. Also the rooms have no AC so you may want to consider that in warmer months, we had to sleep without blankets in March.

Absolute worse WiFi. Hopefully, they listen. Common areas have super fast WiFi. In the rooms, zero availability. Rooms are good and service is ok.
