I recently visited Matteson's Auto Repair in Pacific Grove with a few minor issues on my Range Rover, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. CJ was incredibly helpful and friendly both over the phone and in person, setting a positive tone for my visit. Hector, who took care of the repairs, was polite and efficient, handling everything with great expertise. The entire process was smooth and speedy, making it clear that Matteson's Auto Repair values both quality work and excellent customer service. I'll definitely return for any future car needs.

Once again, I have received exceptional service from Matteson’s Auto Repair. Recently, I stopped in without an appointment because my car was not accelerating properly. I just had AAA come out for a battery charge before the problem started . I explained to the receptionist that I needed to have it checked soon because I was on my way to work and was concerned about driving 45 minutes to my office. She stepped into the next room and talked to the owner Mike, who stopped what he was doing, and took it on a test drive. We drove around for 10 - 15 minutes and when no danger, lights came on he was puzzled, and suggested I leave it for the day so his crew could check it out. He offered to give me a ride home so he could take the car back. Then he turned the car off and restarted it, which reset the computer, and it drove perfectly fine after that. The fact that they heard my concern about getting to work timely and handled it expeditiously was great customer service! Then to top it off Mike insisted there was no charge. My previous experiences have been equally impressive. Besides the excellent job they do with maintenance services, when I had a tire sensor alert go on and went in, they repaired the tire immediately , I didn’t have to wait or come back. They always give an accurate estimate with no surprise charges at the end. They don’t upsell and pricing is good. Plus everyone is always professional and friendly. I love this place!

They were recommended to me by a friend, and so will recommend them to others. They gave me a ride home so I could get back to work. Before they did any work on my car they let me know the cost of the work which was very reasonable. As a woman I sometimes feel like mechanics will try to up sell everything, and I really appreciate that they didn’t do that.

Amazing service when you need a car serviced! I recommend this business, I don't live here anymore but when in town I have had work done , it's very good work and pretty fast. Very knowledgable Mechanic's.

Quite a few years ago I took my classic 1970 Mercedes to Mattesons for a service. I was extremely pleased. I've used another excellent Auto Shop in Mid Valley for years because it was convenient AND also top quality. I recently stopped by Mattesons shop with my older BMW sedan which has a couple of minor issues. Both times they right away looked into the issue I'd presented and found nothing wrong. My car is due for a Service and I'll go back to Mattesons or to Carmel Valley. I like the people at Mattesons a lot because they're customer and CAR-oriented. I've had some recent Negative experiences with other local shops and now I'm more discerning than ever. if you own and love a foreign car then these are the professionals to trust.

Provided a fair assessment of my son's car, fixed what needed to be fixed before a cross country drive. Made some recommendations that probably saved us a lot of issues in the middle of nowhere. I would recommend them.

I have taken my Prius to Matteson's for about 3 years now. They have been honest & knowledgeable about my car's needs. I've had work done on the battery, brakes, headlights, fuel pump, tires, oil checks etc. There was an issue with my headlight/ ballast & they tried to fix it but weren't able to. They suggested taking it to the dealership, which I did & they fixed the issue. When I communicated this back to Matteson's, they offered to make it right on their end. They reimbursed me for the work done on my car!! (bc the issue wasn't fixed by them) I've never had an auto repair shop offer me money back; I really, really appreciated that! Mike is a great guy & wants to do right for his customers. He always explains things thoroughly & I truly feel they have my back. Thank you Matteson's for being honest & truly caring about your customers!!

I got a flat tire on my vacation and they were the closest to my hotel that we called and they told us to come in. Not only did the fix my tire very quickly but they saw my coolant was leaking and a bolt was loose and they fixed it on the spot no extra charge. While they were helping me the owner was taking to a guy about taking his battery back to Costco because it would save him money. Such a kind honest way of business you don't find anymore. Wish I lived closer because they would be my permanent shop.

I left my car at Matteson’s for a major service. This was the first time I used Matteson’s. When I picked up my car, it was very happy and had a huge smile because Matteson’s had treated it so very well. It told me that they had thoroughly and in detail inspected all of its systems and had done everything it needed and nothing that was not needed. When I went into the office to pay, I became even happier than my car. While I had received estimates of up to $1,000 for the major service from other shops, my bill was $179.36!!! Quite a difference!!! The staff at Matteson’s explained, in detail, what they had done and what they had not done. For example, rather than automatically replacing all of the filters, they had checked the filters and found that most of them were clean as could be and did not have to be replaced thereby saving hundreds of dollars. And, as an added bonus the staff at Matteson’s are extremely friendly and helpful, wonderfully reminiscent of the way businesses interacted with their customers many years ago. I am extremely fastidious when it comes to maintenance of my cars, and after this experience, I doubt that I will let anyone else touch my car and my car wholeheartedly agrees.Services: General repairs & maintenance

My car has been starting up very sluggishly and I have been really on edge as to whether today will be the day that if finally gives up the ghost. I read great reviews about Matteson's and they are close to where I live so I decided to try them to see if they could fix the problem. Turns out it was an ignition switch problem and Mike and his team sure enough figured out a way around the "only Ford can fix it" and now it starts up like a dream. No more crossing my fingers or charging my crystals every time I get behind the wheel :) Everything about this place is top drawer. Christina at the front desk is a great listener and very kind. Mike even gave me a ride home when I dropped it off. They are all so professional. And guess what? They even saved me money! I couldn't be happier with Matteson's. So grateful to have a place to go where you don't feel like a "mark" as soon as you walk in the door.10 out of 10! Thank you Mike!

Had a check engine light come on. They scheduled me for a visit and we're very up front and fair about the pricing.He told me, it's a typical surcharge for an engine inspection. If we find it's something simple like a gasket, they'll charge just the parts.Unfortunately it was the engine thermostats, but they were able to get the parts in hand same day and get my car back to me by the end of the day.Fair valued, and great family oriented vibe from this shop. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Went in for an oil change and was pleasantly pleased by this mom and pop shop. The receptionist was very kind and even gave me a first time discount! Granted it was still pricey about $80 for an oil change and tire rotation but I shopped around and they were all around $100. Took about 2 hours and left my car exactly how it was. Will come again for future services!
