As a customer who has been loyal to Standard Plumbing Supply in Oxnard since it was Harbor Plumbing back in the 90s, I am deeply disappointed by the recent decline in service and overall conditions of the store. Since the retirement of the old management, it's become painfully obvious that the current management is unable to keep even the most basic items in stock, which is unacceptable for a business I rely on to run my own operations.Furthermore, the lack of product knowledge from staff have only added to the frustration of shopping here. It's disheartening to encounter employees who are unable to provide basic assistance or answer questions about their products.Additionally, the outside of the store has become a haven for the homeless population and ongoing drug activity, creating an unsafe and unpleasant environment for customers. This morning i witnessed a group of people smoking out of a glass pipe as i walked to my vehicle. It's truly unfortunate to see such a once-respected establishment fail on multiple fronts.As a result of these issues, I have no choice but to take my business elsewhere. It's a shame that Standard Plumbing Supply has let their standards slip so drastically. I hope they take immediate action to address these concerns before losing more customers.

I've been a loyal customer at Standard Plumbing Supply in Oxnard for years, primarily because of the incredible service and knowledge John brought to the table. Unfortunately, since John's retirement and the ushering in of new management, my experiences have drastically declined. First off, the new management seems utterly clueless about the products and the needs of regular customers. On multiple occasions, I've had to explain basic plumbing parts to staff, something John would have never blinked an eye at. The expertise and customer service that made this place a gem in Oxnard have vanished overnight. Additionally, the stock issues have become a significant problem. It's as if there's never anything available anymore. Whether it's basic fittings or specialized plumbing tools, I'm always being told to check back later or order it in. This wasn't the case before. John always had the foresight to keep essential stock plentiful, understanding the needs of his clientele. This place was once a reliable cornerstone for professionals and homeowners alike, offering not just parts but valuable advice. Now, it feels more like a wild goose chase for even the simplest of items, compounded by a staff that seems to be learning on the fly. It's disheartening to see such a decline. I had hoped the transition would be smooth and that the new management would carry on the legacy of excellence, but sadly, this has not been the case. I find myself looking elsewhere for my plumbing needs, a thought that never crossed my mind in years past. I truly hope feedback like this serves as a wake-up call. The community deserves the high standard of service and stock availability that John maintained for so long. Until then, I'll be taking my business to other local suppliers who can meet my needs with less hassle and more reliability.
