I've looked for hiking boots now for decades and I believe I have found the right pair at Red Wing. Vasque 7742M now i have 3 pairs. They are the most comfortable hiking boots I've worn. I added the custom insoles recommended by the computer they are pricey however they definitely add cushion and comfort to the boots.
No other boots i had compared.

The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They had the boots in stock, and made the process very easy.
My only "complaint" is that I can't find of boots that have all the features I want.

These used to be a quality shoe ranking with the best then something happened it became red wing on crack shoes poor quality doesn’t fit right made in china etc . You can do better at good will quick run the other direction or you are likely going to be disappointed.

When I went to the store in the Oxnard location, the employees were very helpful and wasted no time in satisfying my requests. Fernando was very helpful and made sure I got the best service possible when fitting and helping select the best work boots.

I was there last Saturday around 3pm. Store was really busy and for a second I thought I would have to leave. Thats when Stephanie approached me and delivered an amazing customer service experience. She was able to help several customers at the same time not letting any of the parties involved upset. This lady deserves a raise. Thanks for measuring my feet,helping me try different boots and making my visit to your store,a memorable one.
