“We called ahead because there were so many flights cancelled over the Holidays we had cars cancelled at other locations in LA. Shawna (at the Oxnard location) we assume, was the person we spoke with and she suggested waiting until 10:30am when they expected more cars. We show up at 11am and she says all she can offer is a truck. No, she cant, the reservation from another party specified a truck. We ended up with the last car — a Mercedes. She relied on the procedures Hertz outlined: if people did not show after 2 hours, it was fair to rent it. Thanks to her, we could finally travel home and celebrate Christmas! Thank you Hertz for letting the people who work for you have humanity when making decisions. I have been an Avis customer forever. I will switch for this human kindness.”
