First off, my dad died. To make matters worse somebody stole his credit/debit cards and his phone. I won't receive his death certificate for another week which gives the person who stole his cards plenty of time to pull money out. I came to this branch which is now called BMO to let them know the situation. I explained the situation to the teller at the window. She said there was nothing she could do. I told her there was a high likelihood that fraud could occur, and that fraud had occurred several times with his account in the past. Perhaps she should freeze his account or at the very least make a note of it in his record that his son, or somebody claiming to be his son, is warning that his credit/debit cards have been stolen, or maybe call the account holder that somebody is trying to freeze his account and he is in the bank now. Or maybe allow me to talk to the manager, give me a phone number to call or take some kind of pro-active action. She said unfortunately there is nothing they can do and the fraud will have to occur then motioned for me to leave. I was so angry I had to leave but I wished i got her name before I stormed out. She is a white woman in her mid 40's. The infuriating thing is that fraud has occurred to my father's account with Bank of the West/BMO several times in the past which they allowed to happen and when I show up to prevent fraud, they do nothing to stop it. Mind you, she never even looked up the account to see what I was talking about. Dumbfounded by utter lack of responsiveness I went to my bank at Chase in Camarillo and asked how they handle these situations. When I told the teller at Chase that BMO said they can do nothing about it before getting the Death Certificate they were as dumbfounded as I was. They said they would have to file a notification of death and there is a good chance the account would be frozen and if not, some sort of pro-active action would have to be taken. I have been banking with Chase for about 15 years and have not had any issues with fraud. It would be nice to get a response from BMO if not a well-deserved apology but I would not expect any sort of decency from this bank. I wonder how difficult it is going to be to get the money back after it has been taken. My advice to anybody who has read this review: STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THIS BANK AND ANY OF ITS BRANCHES.

If you’re looking to open an account at this branch, do not do! The tellers are very inefficient. They don’t prioritize time or clients. They don’t go the extra mile they’re clients or visitors.

This was my first time visiting the branch in Oxnard. To my surprise there was no line when I walked in, the teller was very friendly and able to help me in a quick and efficient manner. Branch does close at five so you have to get your business done during normal operating hours.I did visit the branch the next day after hours to see their ATM and it does have the capability to deposit cash and checks outside so you can always use this feature if the branch is closed. This branch is in a convenient location with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

AVOID THIS BANK!!! The girls that work at this bank are nice. However, the computer issues the branch has had in the last year that close the branch are terrible service. I need a receipt, so I cannot put my deposit in the night drop. I am not a signer on the business account, so I don't have an atm card to use in the machine. The bank charges $29 a month for business mobile banking, and my partner does not want to pay for it. Therefore, my deposits are postponed for days and days or I can drive 25 miles if I'd like to use the nearest branch. Lucky me. They also close at 4:00 when they manage to open. That causes schedule issues! Furthermore, they have cashed about $15,000 in stolen checks in the last year. I hope we switch banks asap!!! This is awful service!!!

Who is the branch manager again the only two tellers or the guy the whispers into the tellers ears so they can deliver news. Money ends up missing and checks your walked in to deposit yourself disappears. Hmmmm.... just don't do this bank it's not worth the headache

Bank of the West has a great branch right here in Oxnard. Staff are friendly/knowledgeable and they have competitive rates for HELOCs, money market etc. We have business and personal accounts here. Conveniently located right off the freeway.

I spoke to a customer rep today 10/5/19 6am and at first it was a soft spoken lady. I explain what my concerns were and few mins she puts me on hold and i got passed on to a another lady named patricia. She talks very fast and firmly kinda rude response. Yes the kinda voice that you dont like to talk to. It makes me want to deal with other banks. Usually when i speak to their reps its never like that. But this patricia lady should NEVER be a customer rep. Two stars for this lady.
