“I haven’t felt a warm vibe in every shop on Piedmont and vintage stores can be kind of snobby sometimes but I’m happy to say that that frigidaire environment has NOT been my experience at Sunshine Prophecy. The vibe is super warm and inviting; There is ALWAYS good music playing; The employees there are always very patient with any of my (often MANY haha) questions; — AND I’ve never felt pressure to buy anything if I wasn’t ready. — That is especially important to me bc in order to budget I purposely do LONG leads on items I’m interested in. I might stop in once or twice and ask questions/do price checks before I finally treat myself and they always treat me like a paid customer. Clothes, jewelry, purses are cute. LOVE their witchy candles, herbs, and TAROT CARDS. It seems like the owner of this store had more of a “creative calling ” then just a bottom line in starting this business.”

“I love this shop! I brought in about 20 CD's to sell and they bought them all for a good price - when does this ever happen?? The staff is very friendly and helpful. While here, I picked up Jennifer Egan's A Visit From the Goon Squad in excellent condition for $5 bucks. They also have a great selection of DVD's. Another thing of note is that the store is very well organized and tidy, making it easy to find what you're looking for.”
“I would highly recommend coming here! The owner Michael is nice and the store is really clean. All of the clothing was sorted by color and it was very well organized. We liked looking through all the racks, all of the clothes were great quality and there was something there for everyone. The prices were also extremely fair. “When I came across this store it was as if the clouds had parted to let the sun shine down on me. Yeah I’m exaggerating but it’s a cool store and the dude who runs it seems laxed. But when he asks you “how much do you think it’s worth?” I recommend quoting some outrageous price and wait for his counter offer. I mean it’s negotiating 101. But when you’re desperate for money, you’ll just be happy if somebody is willing to pay you anything. A mistake I shan’t make again. Yes I do recommend this spot for every hipster rocking a man purse and a cardigan and a SnapBack. Oh my god I just described myself. Bummer?”

“I’ve always driven by but never stopped in since it was after hours. I got a chance to pop in today and I found so many treasures! The owner/buyer had a great eye for unusual and precious antiques. I picked up fantastic Christmas ornaments, a stunning smoky topaz ring, and vintage Japanese porcelain aquarium decor. The latter could be used in plant terrariums too. They kindly offered my dog a treat and made me feel welcome.”
“I have been coming to Radbird for several years. I can always find stylish designer pieces although they tend to be on the pricier side of preowned clothing. Their prices seem to always land somewhere between $200-$400. The fine jewelry collection is gorgeous.The ladies who work there are always kind but the fitting rooms could use some full length mirrors.”

“This is my fave consignment shop!!! I found a beautiful crystal necklace that I will wear on one of my next adventures--oohlala! I also found some boots and a jacket that my friend might like. Divine Consign has lots of very unique items--clothing including jackets and coats, jeweiry, hats, and shoes that you probably won't find any of your friends have. They accept items for consignment, but it is important to ask Joy what they are taking before cleaning out your closet. They are a high-end consignment shop that we are fortunate to have these days. Go in to get presents for your friends or for giving a gift for yourself!!!”
“They used to have an architect firm here that barely attracted any flies inside, then this wonderful, eclectic cute antique shop took over. They invited the lady from Moss plants to sell their beautiful plants and the result is balanced gentle magic. Here you can find gifts for yourself or for a special occasion, or no reason at all. Walking in here was a nice fresh break for a Sunday, greeted graciously by Nan who let me wonder around the shop without policing me or being a typical pushy sales person, quiet the opposite. Her level of education and appreciation for art and antique recognized the good client in me and others who happened to walked inside, and that's a good sales person. In the meantime I had to share this with more folks. Perfect place to buy a nice, cozy, or an elegant last minute gift.”
“I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. She even wrapped it in a gift bag and added a few trinkets. It made his day and meant so much to me. Thank you!”
“Get there early to park and leave by noon to avoid traffic on your way out.Most places take Venmo but bring cash just in case.Food trucks are just ok and over priced.Definitely bring your own back pack or bag to carry things you buy.Bring layers- it can be very chili!”

Excellent selection of shades and lamps if you are looking for something to fit your Victorian or older home.I have 3 lamps from them -- 2 they restored for me. They look and work great! “This store is a real asset to El Cerrito. Always nicely arranged and tidy. I noticed that they have an overabundance of outdated clothes that are very colorful. Seems people prefer black, grey and beige these days, so I hope they have an ecological way to dispose of them.”
“This place runs mostly on volunteers. The best I can figure is they get food from grocery stores and such that's not fit for display ( I think the term is "reclaimed food") and distribute it to various charitiesThey also distribute clothing and things like that. Check them out.”
